To start of my annual UH pimpfest - Nathanial "Tank" Dell - WR and PR - 5'10" 165# (my guess is he is around a 4.4ish - 40)

109 receptions for over 1,300 yards and 17 TDs plus 1 PR TD - he did return to others for TDs but penalties negated them

this follows a sophomore year of 89 receptions for just over 1,200 yards and 11 TDs

He is a natural fit for the slot at the next level. Good quickness and change of direction. Great hands and will fight for the ball (or fight to break up passes thrown to the defender instead)

If he was taller he would go high in the draft, given his size I see him as a 3rd or 4th round guy.....perfect spot for the Steelers to add WR talent

Tank is my favorite this year

there are a few others including

Clayton Tune QB - yeah I now we don't need another young guy
Gervarrious Owens- S
D'Anthony Jones - DL
Derek Parish - DL/FB
Donavan Mutin - LB
Art Green - DB

plus a few others maybe

I know some of you don't care for this, but oh well - feel free to just now open my thread

as usual I will keep all my offseason pimping to this thread

They can hop scotch skip to the Lou their arse to the next thread.

Have to say Tank's production is very interesting. I would be ok throwing out a 4th. Slot should be high on the need list. If they attack the trenches and corner 1 thru 3. Perhaps even an OLber. They could very well look for a WR which I would think would come about no later than round 4.

I like his two year production Coolie, very impressive.
He may be a guy they do indeed show interest in the fourth or fifth round.
We need a slot guy just not sure if they will go draft or even FA. Stevie Simms is ok but think we can do much better and must do much better.
Maybe the Tank will be that guy. Will he be in the senior bowl?

yes he got an invite to the Senior Bowl, him and his QB Clayton Tune will both be there

and Owens and Parish were invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl

Good! I’ll watch for both.

No 5th for us. 😉

You anticipate getting one for?

I think he is referring to the legend, Coach who seems to get way more for way less.

I’m sure BLITZ was just showing respect and some patience for Coach to work his magic.

Coolie, I love these And please keep adding as we go.

Will any Coogs get a Combine invite ?

Does “Tank” seem a little small, I’d be happy if he could add #15s but will his frame work with additional weight?

I believe Dell has already been invited to the combine

That is the first thing I noticed. If he were 5'4" and 124# Tomlin would take him in the second round, but with his mid tier stature, I bet he passes.

he is slightly bigger than Calvin Austin III who came in at 5'9" 162#

which means we won't take him.

or we'll take him in the first.

either/or scenario that could mean we'll review our options as the draft goes on and players descend or ascend, as the case may be, as their realities come to a fruition and their dreams are obviously realized
/Tomlin, Mike

I know we don't need a qb.....but I hope Clayton gets taken by team that will give him a fair chance at success

6'2" 215# normal size hands and head...

Tune is a quality qb, he is good from the pocket and when flushed outside he keeps his head up and can still make accurate throws on the run. He can go deep, but I think his arm strength may be a question going into the draft. IMO he was hampered some this year by inconsistent play calling from the OC. The first several weeks the calls seemed to want to force the run even when the passing game was working and then many of the pass plays were shorter routes and they seemed scared to push the ball down field

this changed a bit after a huge 4th quarter comeback against Memphis (down by 16with 8 minutes to go)

Tune is quick enough to make teams pay with his legs if the opportunity arrises

He will be at the Senior Bowl with his favorite target Tank Dell

So he would feel right at home in Pittsburgh.

If the Steelers hadn't taken Austin or he is not going to recover from what I assume is a Liscfranc injury Dell might be an option. If Austin is going to recover they will not take him.

Really can't wait and see they really shouldn't. You wouldn't really know if that smallish WR coming off an injury can hold up. I go into the draft pretending it is the worse case scenario and draft BPA with WR in the mix. If he pans out later Kenny can use every advantage available. If he doesn't you did the right thing and sticking a position with more questions than answers.

Oh I'm quite sure they will take a receiver. I'm justvsaying if Austin is going to be fine and medically I'd assume they know if he is. So they aren't going to take another smurf if he is.
