The information relayed to Fauci in the Jan. 27 email appears to have been sourced from “David M,” a possible reference to Fauci’s senior advisor David Morens.
Morens, another top aide to Fauci, came under congressional scrutiny earlier this year when emails obtained through a congressional subpoena showed that he was in communication with Daszak about pushing back on stories in the press about the lab leak theory.
The email also points to a connection between NIH and SARS-CoV-2’s closest cousin virus, RaTG13.
The new email states that the bat virus discovered with NIH help is 92 percent similar to SARS-CoV-2, while RaTG13 is 96 percent similar across its genome. It’s not clear whether this is a mistake or refers to a different virus.
It is clear that a preprint authored by Wuhan Institute of Virology Senior Scientist Shi Zhengli about the similarity between SARS-CoV-2 and the bat virus it discovered, RaTG13, published on January 24, 2020, set off major alarm bells among the leaders of the NIH.
An email previously reported by U.S. Right to Know indicates that Collins and Fauci were concerned in February 2020 about whether NIH could be traced to Wuhan Institute of Virology Senior Scientist Zhengli Shi’s research shortly after she published a preprint about RaTG13.
“Note strongest similarity of 2019 nCoV to Bat Cov RaTG13. Obviously the details of that comparison will be critical,” Collins wrote to Fauci on February 1, 2020. “No evidence this work was supported by NIH.”
An email obtained by U.S. Right to Know via FOIA shows Collins and Fauci exchanging emails about RaTG13, a bat coronavirus closely related to SARS-CoV-2 discovered with NIH aid.
In fact, NIH had supported the work, according to public papers and the Jan. 27 email to Fauci.
“Do not rule out suing these ******** for slander,” Morens wrote to Daszak. Scientists looped in on the email included virologists who have cast the lab leak theory as a conspiracy theory in papers and in the media.
Morens also spoke to the media about the origins question at Fauci’s request, saying, “Tony doesn’t want his fingerprints on origin stories.”
The emails also showed that he said he sought to evade FOIA requests by using his personal email address.
“I try to always communicate on gmail because my NIH email is FOIA’d constantly,” Morens said in a September 2019 email. “I will delete anything I don’t want to see in the New York Times.”
The emails prompted letters from congressional investigators and the National Archives and Records Administration.
While his deputies appeared more informed about EcoHealth Alliance’s work in the Jan. 27 email, Fauci’s championing of gain-of-function studies — despite the concerns of scientists who questioned the utility and risk — may have contributed to its prestige.

Fauci has been fraudulent for many years and his actions have hidden the fraud of others including the vaccine makers.
The amazing part is that so many people who should be outraged are silent. I get the apologists, who save face by saying nothing, but folks who were just lied to, who's loved ones were harmed....why is there no bigger outcry against this evildoing?

Yeah, it's never happening for me either. I've never even had a flu shot.
It would have to be some type of black death plague for me to even take notice. Then I'm still more likely to go full hermit away from civilization than to take any experimental bullshit these guys cook up.

On planes and trains and children
By now, we probably have all heard about the Silver Spring Maryland elementary school that has put N95 masks back on children attending the school, and the same school district says that this same protocol that requires masking for an unknown threshold of cases will be put in place for other schools in the district. It was a total of 3 nine year old children that tested positive. Now, we all know about the Cochrane meta analysis study that shows that even N95 masks have limited value and that N95 masks cause significant CO2 toxicity.
Putting N95s on children fits the definition of child abuse.
A recent paper published, titled “Possible toxicity of chronic carbon dioxide exposure associated with face mask use, particularly in pregnant women, children and adolescents - A scoping review” (Heliyon 2023 Apr;9(4):Epub 2023 Mar 3) had this to say about toxicities associated with mask use for children and pregnant women:
Let’s be very clear, there is documented evidence that verbal motor and overall cognitive performance in children born during the pandemic and also in school aged children subjected to pandemic “public health” policies is much lower. How much of this in children could be from the daily eight or more hours of mask use during school and day care? Federally funded school programs have required mask used on all children, except babies, right up until Sept 2022. It is clear that these will return if the CDC deems that COVID-19 positivity tests reach a certain threshold.
I hope that every parent in that Silver Spring school puts a “stay at home order” on their kids until this mandate is rescinded. That every parent who is confronted with another mask mandate does not allow their children to return to that school until the mandate is lifted. It is only through resistance from ordinary folk that we can change this.
Furthermore, as the CDC again requires more testing in hospitals, schools and workplaces, cases counts will rise. Once that happens, we can expect more mask mandates on airplanes, trains and public spaces. These are hard to resist - we have to travel for work. We have vacations planned. We have places to go and we need to go into public buildings. How do we fight this?

Vance's office said the bill would:
- Prohibit any federal official, including the President, from issuing an order requiring individuals to wear a mask or other face covering on any passenger flight in the U.S. national airspace system, on public transit, or in school (primary, secondary, and colleges);
- Block Commercial Air Carriers, public transit authorities, and all educational institutions from refusing service to anyone who declines to wear a mask or other face covering;
- Prevent the Secretary of Health and Human Services from requiring plane or train passengers and students to wear a mask or face covering in response to a public health emergency;
- Restrict federal spending to propose, establish, implement, or enforce a mask requirement on airline and public transit passengers and students;
- Require all agencies issue new and revised guidance within 90 days of enactment to implement the law and preempt all other laws or guidance contrary to the Act

"There’s a new vaccine that’s coming around the corner, a new mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, and there’s essentially no evidence for it," Ladapo said during the news conference, according to local news outlets.
"There’s been no clinical trial done in human beings showing that it benefits people" he said.
"There’s been no clinical trial showing that it is a safe product for people — and not only that, but then there are a lot of red flags."
In terms of specific concerns, Ladapo warned that the updated vaccines "actually cause cardiac injury in many people."
"When they try to convince you to be comfortable and agree with things that don’t feel comfortable, [that] don’t feel like things you should agree with, that is a sign, right? That’s a gift," he said.
