I think every pick made sense. Herbig might end up inside we'll see.1.14 Broderick Jones - day 1 starter at LT
2.32 Joey Porter Jr. - day 1 starter at CB
2.49 Keeanu Benton - immediate impact player on the defensive line rotation
3.93 Darnell Washington - day 1 starter at TE2
4.132 Nick Herbig - developmental ILB/OLB, may get snaps to spell Highsmith and Watt
7.241 Cory Trice Jr. - developmental DB with CB or S capability, athletic traits and size could mean he sticks around
7.251 Spencer Anderson - experience at about every spot on the line, good RAS for an interior lineman. Versatility may be enough to keep him on the final roster

I think i agree as long as Weidl stays putGets an A+ from me for free agency and the draft. I fully expect them to be seriously competing for a championship within 2 years.
I dunno two of the clowns picks come with weight concerns.Tillman for me is ok but doesn't scream star. I realize they were without high picks but i think their draft will be in the end easily forgettable.Baltimore
Zay Flowers, WR
Trenton Simpson, LB
Tavius Robinson, OLB
Kyu Blu Kelly, CB
Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu, OT
Andrew Vorhees, OG
Not a bad draft, but not great either. Flowers is good, I don't think his value will be maximized in Baltimore. Simpson has some great traits, but his weaknesses are glaring. Vorhees is good value late, probably will never live up to his talent.
Cincinnati
Myles Murphy, DE
DJ Turner, CB
Jordan Battle, S
Charlie Jones, WR
Chase Brown, RB
Andrei Iosivas, WR
Brad Robbins, P
DJ Ivey, CB
This is a pretty good draft. Early contributors with the first four picks. You can never argue adding pass rushers and Turner can fly. Jones is potentially a sneaky good receiver and return man.
Cleveland
Cedric Tillman, WR
Siaki Ika, DT
Dawand Jones, OT
Isaiah McGuire, DE
Dorian Thompson-Robinson, QB
Cameron Mitchell, CB
Luke Wypler, C
The Browns did well without any high picks. They picked up falling talent, though the upside on the players is limited. Ika and Jones will probably underachieve because of their size.
Great crystal ball that you have there but what says that Jones and Porter are going to be immediate starters? I'd temper that enthusiasm. It is likely that they will eventually start but they are going to have to earn it. Maybe by next year. This year they will put out those on the field that have experience and know what they are doing. A bit of a learning curve is required and they are facing former NFL starting talent which has a understanding of professional concepts and a knowledge of how their teamates work together in a pro system. Miles to go yet. The future does admittedly look bright but it is not yet guaranteed.1.14 Broderick Jones - day 1 starter at LT

Not so sure. The Steelers tackle tandem has been less than inspiring. Broderick has the pass blocking capable that Moore struggles with and run blocking capable Chukes struggles with. Secondary is filled with number 2 type corners. We don't know what Peezy Jr. will be yet but the opportunity will be there for the taking.Great crystal ball that you have there but what says that Jones and Porter are going to be immediate starters? Dan Moore and Kendrick Green, who were flat out bad as rookies, both started as rookies. There is no reason Jones should be on the bench. When it comes to Porter, Teryl Austin flat out said there would be no redshirt for him, meaning he's going to play. I'm not putting any of these guys in the Hall of Fame or even saying they'll be good, just that they'll be on the field early and often.Great crystal ball that you have there but what says that Jones and Porter are going to be immediate starters? I think in some cases it starts uneven until good play by the prospect and/or bad play by the vet dictates change. Things don't need to be equal, if that rookie wants a start earn it.With the way the salary cap is set up, you almost have to see what the rookies have "when the bullets start flying".
You basically have 3 -4 years to determine if you're picking up the 5th year option on your first round picks and only 3 years to determine if you're offering a second contract to guys drafted after the first.
Jones and Porter will compete for starting positions this year. And remember, just because it's a competition, doesn't mean it's an "even" competition.
3. Washington stays healthy and becomes a monster in-line blocker in 2 TE sets and greatly improves the run game and short yardage
As far as press corners go, Tomlin and I believe Kahn said they wanted press corners. Maybe that's the direction they have been looking to go or are looking to go. If so, they got a good one in JPJ and Trice could be a diamond. He was still dealing with an injury most of this past year as he was wearing a brace most of the year. He should be back to near 100% now. He's big, athletic, and can play both CB and S. You never know. I think he can stick this year as a ST's guy as well. Overall, this was a very good draft with the picks they had.
Yeah Trice is a CB, I keep seeing ppl saying move him back to S, but he originally was a S until they realized how athletically gifted he was, so moved him into being a press CB. Usually the only reason a CB gets moved to safety is because they don't have the speed or COD ability to play CB. Trice does, he ran a 4.47, had a 35in vert, 11'0 broad, and did 17 reps on the bench. His pro day showed he has elite COD too:
He was absolutely one of the top guys on my board since day 2, I was shocked he was there still all through day 3, and I was surprised we took him because I wasn't sure they would take another big long press corner but I'm guessing like others he was simply the best guy on their board for several rounds and couldn't pass up that kind of value and potentialI'm intrigued by him. He was supposed to be a day 2 guy and we got him in the 7th. If we have the right coaches helping him, he could make huge leaps going into years 2 and 3.
As the secondary coach also pointed out that many of corners get on their man then per snap back up. They don't have to coach him up in that aspect as he doesn't retreat. He engages his man.He was absolutely one of the top guys on my board since day 2, I was shocked he was there still all through day 3, and I was surprised we took him because I wasn't sure they would take another big long press corner but I'm guessing like others he was simply the best guy on their board for several rounds and couldn't pass up that kind of value and potential
Instead of every first round pick getting a fifth year option, in the next CBA rewrite they should make it one fifth year option per team per year like the franchise tag… but it should escalate as it goes lower in the rounds to compensate underpaid low round picks that end up stars…With the way the salary cap is set up, you almost have to see what the rookies have "when the bullets start flying".

Next year the only two CBs we would have had under contract were Patrick Peterson, who is going to be 34 years old, Tre Norwood, who isn’t an outside CB, and JPjr might be ready to start, but he is absolutely not a sure thing… so a second CB is a smart grabHe was absolutely one of the top guys on my board since day 2, I was shocked he was there still all through day 3, and I was surprised we took him because I wasn't sure they would take another big long press corner but I'm guessing like others he was simply the best guy on their board for several rounds and couldn't pass up that kind of value and potential
