Day Three - Draft

Steelers take Logan Lee DT from Iowa.
My only “meh”reaction to this draft so far.
Tall, but kinda lanky. Can’t remember him standing out in any of the few Iowa games I’ve seen recently.

Seems like a good athlete with room to add weight. Frame to play defensive end.

I read he had 28 QB pressures last year, 4th among Big 10 DTs.

Which one do you think has the highest upside to develop into a contributor?

Upside could be Hardy because he's so fast and athletic but may never develop beyond special teams. King will be a solid player somewhere in the secondary.

Lee has good height, athletic, but shorter arms mean he is very often locked in a battle with the OG and cannot get free. He is strong, but really needs a spin move to present a pass rush threat. It's what you get with 6th rounders.

Not super excited about a developmental DL as Lee has to get bigger and stronger, IMO. Has the potential to contribute but not this year.

That is going to describe every 6th round DL, right? For the Steelers, it describes basically every DL drafted, including Cam Heyward. Demarvin Leal, a 3rd round pick, is still "developing."

A couple of message boards I was following earlier this month, when Lee made his official pre draft visit to the Steelerrs, had some that thought highly of him and thought he'd be a great get with the first 6th round pick. Turns out to be exactly what happened. At this point, you are throwing darts and hoping to get lucky. I hope he does well.
