Very good question. My guess is that they don't want to upset Jesse Jackson and his ilk.

Nothing to see here. All's well

Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City is treating a possible Ebola patient who recently traveled to West Africa, hospital officials said, although he is "unlikely" to have the deadly virus.

The patient arrived at the hospital’s emergency room early Monday morning with “a high fever and gastrointestinal symptoms,” according to a statement from the hospital.

The patient has since been isolated and is undergoing diagnostic testing, officials said.

"All necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety of all patients, visitors and staff,” the hospital said in a statement. “We will continue to work closely with federal, state and city health officials to address and monitor this case, keep the community informed and provide the best quality care to all of our patients."

In a news conference early this evening, hospital officials said the odds are this case is not Ebola. The patient had a fever and recently traveled to a West African country, where he returned from last month.

The unidentified patient was was promptly put into isolation as a precaution, the officials said.

“After consultation with CDC and Mount Sinai, the [NYC] Health Department has concluded that the patient is unlikely to have Ebola. Specimens are being tested for common causes of illness and to definitively exclude Ebola,” according to a department spokesperson.

ABC News chief health and medical editor Dr. Richard Besser said the patient’s symptoms don’t necessarily point to Ebola, but Mount Sinai was following precautionary recommendations sent out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week.

“Many things cause fever and gastrointestinal symptoms,” Besser said. “The steps they are taking are wise given the travel history, but nothing about the symptoms is specific to Ebola.”

The death toll of the Ebola outbreak in Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone climbed to 887, according to the World Health Organization. 1,603 people have been infected in all.

My daughter is in her 4th year of medical school at Emory Medical School in Atlanta.

By the way, it is NOT "Emory Hospital," as the media has reported. It is Grady Hospital, the teaching hospital for Emory Medical School. (All medical schools in the United States must have a hospital for the students to practice their trade before becoming doctors.)

Texted daughter, told her to stay the @#$% away from the ebola.

This is going to be bad... they cant stop the people exposed from interacting with others during the long incubation period. Its in major cities... its going to break containment slowly but surely...

All I know is we didn't have ebola in the U.S. when George W. Bush was President. He kept us safe.

OBAAAMA!!

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — The Saudi Health Ministry says it is testing a man for the Ebola virus after he showed symptoms of the viral hemorrhagic fever following a recent trip to Sierra Leone.

The ministry said that the 40-year-old Saudi man showed the symptoms Tuesday at a hospital in the western city of Jiddah and is in critical condition. It says the cause of his sickness is unknown, but that Ebola cannot be ruled out.

The ministry says different types of viral hemorrhagic fevers are found in the kingdom, but that no case of Ebola has yet been detected in the country.

Saudi Arabia earlier this year said it would not issue visas this year for religious pilgrims from Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea because of concerns over Ebola.

No doubt the Ebola outbreak has been a hot topic of conversation, especially in the past few days.

But this morning some people are raising questions about some comments from an Indiana congressman on how the deadly disease relates to the border crisis.

According to the Huffington Post, Republican Congressman Todd Rokita suggested immigrant children from Central America could be carrying Ebola.

Rokita made these comments on an Indianapolis radio show yesterday.

He told WIBC he, along with other officials, sent a letter to the president asking for more details about the hundreds of migrant children staying with sponsors in Indiana right now.

He stressed the importance of knowing the children’s' conditions.

The Huffington Post also points out there are no documented cases of Ebola in the Western Hemisphere and none of the children who have come over the border in their flight from violence in South America have the disease.

There's a man in New York City who is being tested as we speak for Ebola. He just got back from West Africa and was having symptoms.

But hey, it's not contagious, and there's no way it can make it to the US!!!!!!

Feel-Good Item Of The Day. We are less racist than Saudi Arabia.

BUT.....if the chillens from Africa can make it here we'd have to let 'em in, right? I mean, they're just kids.

Time to stops flights in from these countries.

But what about the children? I mean, they're just kids.

That ************

But what about the ************* children? I mean, they're just ************* kids.

They tested a woman in Columbus OH today who just came back from Africa with Ebola symptoms, turned out negative.
