No reason for alarm. None, none at all.
so their position is that all of these people got it from some bodily fluid? It isn't airborn? Interesting.

Sprinkle it around. Little here, little there. Ahh just right

An elderly missionary became the first Ebola patient to arrive in Europe for treatment early Thursday after Spain's government flew him back from Liberia. A medically-equipped Airbus A310 transported Miguel Pajares, a 75-year-old Roman Catholic priest, to Torrejón Air Base outside Madrid, the country’s defense ministry said.

Parajes was helping treat people infected with Ebola in the Liberian capital, Monrovia, and is one of three who tested positive at the city's San Jose de Monrovia Hospital, according to The Associated Press. He will be treated at a hospital in Madrid but public health general director Mercedes Vinuesa did not tell reporters which one. Liberia is the hardest-hit country in the current Ebola outbreak that has killed almost 1,000 people. On Wednesday, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf declared a nationwide state of emergency.

Ebola just might be a completely different animal than SARS, Mad Cow and H1N1 combined.

Keeping it going. Good to see

(CNN) - The West African country of Senegal has confirmed its first Ebola case one week after closing its border with Guinea over fears that the deadly outbreak could spread, the Senegalese Press Agency reported Friday.

Senegal's health minister, Awa Marie Coll Seck, confirmed that a 21-year-old university student from Guinea was infected with the Ebola virus and placed in quarantine in the Fann Hospital in Dakar, the news agency reported.

Officials in Guinea alerted Senegal on Wednesday after losing track of the young man, the agency reported.

The man, who doesn't have any signs of bleeding, went to the hospital for a checkup, the agency said. His condition is stable.

On August 21, Senegal closed its border with Guinea over fears of the Ebola outbreak, the deadliest ever. The closure includes any aircraft and ships traveling to Senegal from Guinea, Sierra Leone or Liberia.

The Ebola outbreak "continues to accelerate" in West Africa and has killed 1,552 people, the World Health Organization said Thursday.

The total number of cases stands at 3,069, with 40% occurring in the past three weeks. "However, most cases are concentrated in only a few localities," the WHO said.

The outbreak has been centered in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, with a handful of cases in Nigeria.

The overall fatality rate is 52%, the WHO said, ranging from 42% in Sierra Leone to 66% in Guinea.

The case of the Conakry University student is the first one reported in Senegal, which is northwest of Guinea.

CNN's Jacque Wilson and Laura Smith-Spark contributed to this report.

US to send 3,000 troops to Ebola danger zone as Obama administration shuffles mission in Africa

The United States government is sending thousands of military troops to the west African nation of Liberia as part of the Obama administration's Ebola virus-response strategy, the White House said late Monday night.

'U.S. Africa Command will set up a Joint Force Command headquartered in Monrovia, Liberia, to provide regional command and control support to U.S. military activities and facilitate coordination with U.S. government and international relief efforts,' a statement from the White House press office said.

....'A general from U.S. Army Africa, the Army component of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), will lead this effort, which will involve an estimated 3,000 U.S. forces.'

Wouldn't the best solution be to use Ebola infected agents to infiltrate ISIS?

Just curious if a president WITHOUT Kenyan roots would have done this rather than leave it to Public Health or the UN.

Or one that hates the military as Bammy does. What a way to wipe out those who he hates most. Yet he can't call ISIS an enemy and send our guys over to fight a real enemy. Brilliant.

Sending troops to fight Ebola?? Not sending troops to fight ISIS? This is one retarded president. It is a disgrace to send troops for that ****. That is not what the US military is for, at ALL.

This guy could be impeached for so many ******* things it's just amazing.

By the way - it's airborn. Has been. Any idiot could figure that out from the vectors.

I suspect the troops sent are going to play a part in some sort of forced quarantine...or worse, which will cause yet another part of the world to despise us. if we really felt the need to get involved, this would have been better as a joint operation with other world leaders.

Sending 3,000 American soldiers into an ebola-infested region is insane. Seriously, it's insanity; exposing our troops, men and women who volunteered to defend and serve this country - into a third-world shithhole that is rampant with a horrible, fatal, communicable disease is simply batshit crazy.

I simply cannot think of a rational reason for doing so.

Its eyewash and distraction nothing more.

Don't worry. help is finally on the way....

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said on Thursday he will create a special mission to combat the disease and deployed staff in the worst-affected states.
