Elon Musk Hints at Launching New Platform to Take on Twitter

Yeah it’s weird how suddenly all the cockroaches are coming out with absurd reasons not to make this profit grab

Yeah it's funny how the insanely rich Jeff Bezos' newspaper is all of a sudden worried about rich people being involved in media.

Well to be fair they hated on Rupert Murdock for decades… it matters what side you are perceived to be on after all … their side or not their side…

Ish is starting to get real. Buckle up.

So an investment firm just bought 10.3 million worth of twitter…there are two trains of thought with it… the first is that they are just taking an easy money grab betting that the company has to sell…

The second is that they are doing the bidding of others in an attempt to get shares away from him and make it harder to perform a hostile takeover without risking the personal wealth of the people who want it done…

It honestly could be either scenario

All of the whining and moaning about a social media platform. You don't have to go there. You don't have to participate or use it. I don't use any of them. I am a free thinker. Perhaps more Americans should choose to think freely rather than be influenced by others.

You don't have to read a newspaper, watch TV, listen to the radio, look at a billboard or have exposure to social media at all.

Just live in a secluded forest and never talk to a soul. But hey you're a "free thinker" who hasn't been influenced by anyone so everything is fine! Right?

Meanwhile the vast majority of the American public is being gaslighted by these propagandists which is why there's a complete idiot occupying the White House.

Free speech matters...

Propaganda is everywhere. You can get it free (Facebook, twitter), you can pay for it (New York Times), or you can watch the broadcast stuff. It's all garbage. You have to sift through the trash to find a small nugget of real news. Like buzzards at the city dump.

Besides never being able to talk to a soul, I kind of envy the person who can do that sometimes.

The issue is mass censorship… for centuries the religious right and the powers that be greatly controlled the information allowed to be communicated and by doing so controlled the population

Over time the liberal side wrested control of newspapers and pretty much monopolized tv and Hollywood gaining a great advantage on controlling the narrative, but as conservative options began springing up, the libs doubled down on control until they reached censorship as tge only path forward

Some scary things they have been trying to do include banning fox under rules that limit political interference by foreigners and massive restrictions on free internet…

Pushback on censorship was important for the liberals a hundred years ago and it’s important for the conservatives now… censorship is almost universally wrong… save for direct harm issues like child porn and death threats and the ilk.. censorship is just always a bad slippery slope

It's the latter.

Yeah, she really said it.

That's all brave and "I'm strong" independent guy talk and I agree with the position. But how you handle it won't and does not work.

I CAN watch CNN and MSNBC and sift through what's propaganda, lies, bs, and garbage.

The problem is far, far, far too many Americans don't, can't, or are too dumb to do the same. Our media - social media, broadcast media - controls narrative. And it works. If you doubt that it works, look at:
  • Just how quickly people went from "I'm not taking DJTrump's vaccine" to wanting to kill their neighbors for not taking the vaccine
  • How many people STILL believe Covid is the bubonic plague and drive alone in their cars with masks on
I could list a billion examples.

Journalistic integrity is a threat to the free world, as Musk was saying, Protecting Free Speech is paramount.

Elon's putting a band together.

I find it interesting that a shady trillion dollar company like BlackRock can start buying up individual property all over the United States, and not a peep.

Or Bill Gates and the CCP buying up millions of acres of farmland, and not a peep.

But heaven forbid another mega rich guy wants to buy a social media platform to change its algorithms and how it censors free speech, and now "democracy" is in peril. Don't ever trust the ruling class to have democracy or your basic freedoms in mind. Ever. We're in a war with disgusting vultures to help protect our rights as was laid down by our founding fathers.

Recession is coming and interest rates are going up. We'll see how that works out for them.

Musk turned down a seat on the board, ostensibly it would limit him to buying up to 14% of the stock and he would have a fiduciary duty to not bash the company. In other words he can cause them more problems where he is.
As he should. Social media needs to be hit hard and needs a reset
