This is just a rumor, but seems to have a lot of substance to it. If true is this going to far for a kids audience?

"It looks like Frozen 2 may actually be giving Elsa a girlfriend. That is, if a new rumor is to be believed. The Disney sequel is currently in the works and the studio has been taking their time developing the follow-up to make sure that everything is just right. They don't want to rush the next entry in a billion dollar franchise. Now, a new unconfirmed report claims that the sequel will indeed establish that Elsa is gay.

This is far from the first we've heard of such a thing possibly happening. That said, since this isn't coming directly from Disney or from anyone involved in the production, it should be regarded as a rumor for the time being. This new report claims that Frozen 2, in some way or another, will establish that Elsa is a lesbian. How exactly this will be accomplished, assuming this is true, has yet to be revealed. The report indicates that this could be done by giving Elsa a love interest, which would seem to make the most sense.

There was a very strong campaign online to #GiveElsaAGirlfriend in Frozen 2. Many felt it was implied in the first movie that she was a lesbian and they want to see Disney pull the trigger and pay that off in the sequel. While this is far from confirmed, this report also speculates that Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood, who is a member of the LGBTQ community and an avid voice within that community, may be playing Elsa's love interest in the movie. Wood was added to the cast in July, along with Black Panther and This is Us star Sterling K. Brown.

Should this actually come to pass, it would be a big deal for Disney. They've flirted with bringing LGBTQ characters to the big screen in their movies recently, but they haven't really committed. Josh Gad's La Fou had a scene in last year's Beauty in the Beast where it was implied that he had a thing for Gaston. It was extremely subverted. There was also Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok who was supposed to be bisexual. There was a scene that hinted at this in the movie, but it wasn't at all explicit. Black Panther also removed LGBTQ characters prior to making its way to theaters.

That begs the question, to what degree will Frozen 2 portray Elsa's sexual orientation? Co-director Jennifer Lee, who was recently promoted to Chief Content Officer of Walt Disney Animation, left the door open while discussing the topic earlier this year. Given her new position, she'll have a little more power in pushing this through, assuming she and co-director Chris Buck decided it's the right thing to do. It's also worth mentioning that Allison Schroeder was recently brought in to do some additional work on the script. Maybe that has something to do with this rumor? Frozen 2 is currently set for release on November 27, 2019. This news originated with Revenge of the Fans."

As a mom of three teens my response to this is a big yawn. My kids wouldn't bat an eyelash at this. They've grown up in a generation where being gay is nothing out of the ordinary and being anti-gay is weird.

Well they ruined StarWars and Star Trek by destroying the established cannon and going SJW already so I guess they are going to do it with this one as well. Disney will kill the goose that layed the billion dollar egg by pandering to less than 3% of the population.

******* stupid. Disney sure knows how to **** up good stuff. Its criminal what they did to Star Wars. They should have just left it die the good death it did.

Jerry from Tom & Jerry and Bert and Ernie were the **** pioneers in in cartoon and puppet land.

Who cares? Gay people exist in the world, why wouldn't they in cartoons or movies?

True, which is fine, but the target audience of this movie is kids less than 10. Just think it maybe a bit early to try to explain to young kids. My daughter is 7 and i would let her see the movie

I really don't think it's a big deal at all.

The themes of Frozen kind of lend itself to a gay protagonist -- the whole Let It Go song is an ode to coming out of the closet. Elsa needed to stop hiding in the castle and show her true self to the world.

In the end, it was about the sisters - without really having a prince around to save the day.

Don't care... not even a little bit... as long as they don't start sneaking straight up tentacle porn into kids flicks I could care less about who is implied to be screwing who

Who?

There are a lot of things that exist the world. That doesn't mean they should all be in children's shows. That's a stupid argument. Most people don't want social issues in their face during a kids show/movie. The gay lobby has done a fantastic job of making it seem like one in three people are gay and it's completely normal.

If this is true and communicated in advance, watch attendance drop drastically.

I'm more upset they are making a Fozen 2 than Elsa being gay. That movie was ******* TERRIBLE.....try working with autistic children who, as a reward for good behavior, got to listen to "Let it Go". Repeat this ALL DAY. Or try babysitting a kindergarten girl who only wants to watch "Frozen." ALL ******* DAY. Whoever came up with that movie should be hanged publicly and then shot...and then chopped up into pieces.

Two of my best friends are gay and conservative. If you met them on the street you'd never know it. Strangely enough, they didn't see it as some big victory for gay rights.

As for me, I am a live and let live guy. You love who you love. I am not going to see Frozen 2 anyway, and even if I did, this is not important enough to care about. The world has bigger fish to fry far as I am concerned.

Kids are desensitized to social constructs these days.
In a way it's good they know how to handle/compose themselves meeting someone different all thanks to Disney's current sjw messages.

There's still a lot to work on though to become a better functioning society.

I have said this before and I will say it again. By the time my kids are my age, I believe the "isms" that liberals use to try and shame people for political gain will mostly be a thing of the past. Kids today, as you stated are desensitized to that stuff. They don't too much care what color you are, who you have sex with or whatever. Of course, there will always be some of it, because there are ignorant people that teach their kids ignorance unfortunately, but the numbers of those people are dwindling too.

If people would embrace the things we have in common rather than our differences (which in most cases are incredibly small differences), we would be much better off.

Sarge, I don't think most people now get upset about the social stuff. Wanna marry a goat? Go for it, just don't ask me to pay for it's medical insurance.

So you'd be fine with them having a scene where she joins the NRA and is instructed in handgun safety. Or would that be making a kid's movie political?

I think a better comparison would be for Else to marry an adulterous baby-daddy who has five children between three women. They could call the character “Trump”.
