Ev manufacturers coming clean on EVs: it's not working

giphy.gif

I think EV cars are nice on a novelty level. A large scale is ******* beyond stupid and will absolutely fail.

I just hope taxpayers don't have to bail these ******* out again. It's not our fault GM built a plant to make electric Hummers of all things...******* idiots.

Then all of these unions have to balls to go on strike as if these overpriced piles of junk didn't put enough strain on the market. Just brilliant. They'll all be unemployed soon.

But Tesla works right?

The issue as I see it is the attitude, mandate possibly, of the government, federal and in some cases states, using the taxpayers money to promote these vehicles.

Let the free market decide, if a product is more efficient, dependable and affordable than what a person is currently using they will buy it.

I have zero issues with those that wish to drive battery cars, just don't tell me that I or anyone else has to. My '97 diesel may outlive me, but I think I may have at least one more new vehicle in me, and that will not be a battery, or double turbo charged 4 cylinder that's just waiting to explode. An American, apple pie V8 will fill my garage. I can only hope they'll still build them.

Proterra went under. Granholm was on the board of directors before Biden appointed her transportation secretary. She likely " got paid" for that fiasco. Reports claim 8 of those buses are in the Michigan area. Problems left and right. Newsome in in China kissing the ring of Xi, to promise to buy the crappy chinese buses and in return get support when he runs for president. Reports from California claim these buses stop when going uphill, not enough power. Claimed to drive 277 miles but only delivering about 150.

Vote Democrat = vote stupid.

That’s how I feel. EV’s are right for some people but the govt should not be making EV’s artificially less costly and ICE’s artificially more costly.

Exactly they should not be picking winners and losers especially with my tax money.
Except when the Dems are invested in EV and battery companies, and in Terry McAuliffe’s case a govt subsidized EV company that wasn’t even real.

Tesla was first with battery cars. They were awarded a lot of carbon credits. It took several years for other manufacturers to offer their versions of battery cars. Tesla made a lot of money selling their carbon credits to companies like Stellantis because they were hooked on selling hemi v8s. Their profit margins were so high they could build the v8 , pay the penalty to the government for producing a gas guzzler, pay Tesla for carbon credits, and still profit. Tesla made more money selling carbon credits than selling cars.

This is the kind of idiotic stupidity that happens when the government gets involved with the market.

Gee, what is it called when a government gets involved with our tax dollars and doesn't let the free market of capitalism run it's course?
Insane stupidity? Oh, you're looking for the word "Socialism." My guess is more honest.

So, I just leased a Tesla. I have never been an EV guy, and still am probably not. But they slashed their prices in this fourth quarter to try and meet their projections. A few reasons why: I kind of like Elon. He brought free speech back to Twatter and he’s anti-commie. It’s made in Texas with American steel. I’ll save $200+ a month on gas and not have to duck around at gas stations. And it’s fast as fuuuuuuuuuck.

The same car a year ago was $20K more. And with a three year lease I won’t get stuck with a dead battery in 8 years. Plus I have my Alfa if I need to hear an engine.
Can you charge it at home?
