Seems like a signal that they are expecting the offense to not be very good. They’re probably setting up their defense to be a top defense to help pick up the slack of a struggling offense. Especially if Rudolph is going to be the signal caller

The only proof he needs is the Rooney Rule. That rule REQUIRES a token interview or two.
He just didn't understand the rule itself. That's all. It's unfortunate he was the token guy but they have every right to do that now.
Also, the NFL is full of racist owners... I'm wondering why he or anyone of color that has that belief would want to work in such a business.
There are racist and/or bigoted people in every industry. And yet, you have to work to eat. So, if your skills are in football, that's where you work to eat.
Be interesting to see if he calls out Shades and tells him his defensive game plans and play calls are moronic.

I don’t know if you noticed, but the offense has been struggling the last three years regardless of the QB. I think Canada is pretty far out of his depth, so I expect it to continue. If he was so great he wouldn’t be needing a new job every other year.
I think.. my suspicion that is , that Canada made Ben out to be the puzzle piece that made his offense fail. I think this can be the only reason they held onto the scrub. They won't go with Rudy knowing he desires a more mobile QB. I know this hasn't been talked about but I could see Rudy being a pre 53 trade. (Not that they would get a lot) Maybe a half drank bottle of IC light and some day old donuts.
If they do then what vet QB will they sign? I don't think Haskins is starting material...without a lot of good coaching...which won't happen here.
Maybe Mitch or CrabLegPegLeg.
Unless they get enamored with a QB they can trade for that might not cost the farm. Jimmy might fit that description. Titans, Rams, and Tampa management to do it. Maybe it is our teams turn.

It felt obvious from the start that Daboll would be the Giants HC. That made Flores, Frazier, Graham, Quinn, and Anarumo all "token" interviews IMO.

What proof does he have? You mean a confused text from Belichick? And here's a question. Even if he was a token interview, how is that wrong? That's a serious question. The NFL mandates that every team MUST interview at least 2 minority candidates. By definition, that means at least 1 minority coach got a token interview.
Even if they get in courth and the Giants say yes, we wanted Daboll, we knew we were hiring him and we interviewed 2 minority candidates anyway to satisfy the rooney rule and not get penalized. What exactly did they do wrong?
Why is it a travesty he's not a head coach? He had his moments with Miami but ended up 24-25 with 0 playoff appearances in a Post Brady division. You may as well pound the table for Todd Haley to get another head coaching gig. Haley went 19-26 with KC but at least he made the playoffs once.
Flores is a young coach who will probably get another shot, maybe next year but to call it a travesty that he's not a head coach is a bit of a stretch.
Interesting. You understand that there's also a wrongful termination claim in his lawsuit, correct. The part where the Dolphins owner tried to bribe him 100K per loss in order to get the #1 draft pick. And yet, the outrage is not over an obvious attempt at game fixing, but rather, claims that some assume will be easily defeated.
Nothing Flores has put forward showed anything even close to racism. He may (or may not as we have seen no proof) have been asked to tank in games but that's an NFL thing to deal with. Anything, the Rooney rule included, that uses race, sex, etc. in the hiring process is racist, sexist, etc. on its face. Sure there is racism (going both ways), sexism (going both ways), etc. out there but you should never hire based on it and that includes quotas. Even the government and its contractors started getting rid of or easing up on their quotas until all of this woke nonsense heated up. Quotas are racist, period. You should always hire based on qualifications, period, the end.
Every team has LBs covering WRs at some point. It's called zone defense.
Which is why they went with Bush and Joe. Coverage capable.
They need a third Lber better in coverage than Spil-yardage into his-lane. To bring competition and upgrade coverage assignments.

The stuff about the tanking may have merit. But I’m not upset about that. Frankly, I don’t understand all the pearl clutching over it. Tell me the last season where the media hasn’t openly suggested that a team should tank to get a better pick. Remember Tank for Tua?

true, but there’s a difference between a LB dropping into a zone and chasing after Tyreek Hill in man coverage 40 yards downfield. Sometimes you get caught in a bad defense vs a play but that scenario happened far too often in the last few years. Teams have been able to dictate that matchup by formation. Most defense will switch. The CB will swap and line up over a guy like Hill rather than the LB, but time and again, the Steelers would leave the LB over the WR.
I do hope Flores points out all the dumb **** the Steelers have done.

In any event, a lot of folks are acting like those claims personally affect them, when the fact is that they only personally affront them. Which actually puts the race-based claims on par with the tanking claims. They also don't personally affect anyone, only affront. Unless of course, you consider the integrity of the game to be something that affects you personally as a fan.

I think the NFL in and of itself makes Flores case on its own. In a league that is comprised of 70% POC among its players, there are only 2 head coaches and 2 GMs who are black. I believe quotas are in place because the white ownership in the NFL can't be trusted to do the right thing. Only two owners are POC. An Asian-American (Bills) and a Pakastani-American (Jaguars ). In a perfect world, I agree wholeheartedly with you as far as being the best candidate for the job. Unfortunately, the world we live in is far from perfect.
Very true but the minute you put a label on something based on someone's race, even if its intention is to provide a potential opportunity, that is the definition of racism. You can't put a label on it. And, I don't think Flores is starting a class action suit. I thought his lawsuit was stating there was racism against him but he has absolutely no proof of it. It just sounds like another attorney trying to make some money with a settlement out of court, which is what most public entities or celebrities do to keep their names out of the spotlight. It doesn't matter if they are guilty or not, they just want/need it to go away.
It's been a class action lawsuit from the beginning. So, not about him and a money grab. Or, if you like, not simply about him and a money grab.

It seems like Flores is a determined guy who speaks his mind, has had success recently, and could be a good help in many respects, especially as an external guy who will call BS as necessary.
While I really do not like the lawsuits, or the way they have been described, sometimes the point of legal action is not to actually get to final justice, but rather to "clarify" what is really happening. As long as this is not a real distraction to the team, maybe these maneuvers will end the tokenism. Its not like he doesn't have a credible point, and the ability to prove his thesis.
Since next season is already a retooling, this seems like a great time to have a new guy, with credentials, who is also a no BS straight talker.
He is qualified to be a HC and DC......both of which we seem to lack confidence in.
