With this damn spending bill. The last CR was 21 pages. This one is over 1500 pages and loaded with pork. Garbage, most of it, including the congressional pay raise. The recent election obviously didn't communicate appropriately Americans' dissatisfaction with how they operate. So, what do they do? They load up a CR with a bunch of pork and try to cram it through. Shut the government down and primary everyone that votes for this crap. Enough is enough.

The nation is over $36 trillion in debt and these ******** are trying to make it worse. To hell with the lot of them.

Your words are like that radical named Elon........crazy talk!

A clean CR would do the trick. Or even better yet, use the budget process you have been ducking since the 1990's. I'm tired of these ******** wasting money like we have money to burn.

I read a quote that read; If the government has enough money to give to other countries, we're paying too much in taxes. I know that this is very simplistic view of government spending, but the gov shouldn't be barrowing at this pace to just give it away.

These Representatives refused to support the garbage "continuing resolution" (a scam to avoid adopting an actual budget) so kudos to them:
  • Rep. Nancy Mace
  • Rep. Wesley Hunt
  • Rep. Kat Cammack
  • Rep. Andy Biggs
  • Rep. Bob Good
  • Rep. Paul Gosar
  • Rep. Ralph Norman
  • Rep. Tim Burchett
  • Rep. Chip Roy
The garbage CR is dead as Biden's brain and Nancy's hip.

Hegman voted for it??!?!?!?!

Hegman voted for it??!?!?!?!

No, it never came to a vote after the listed (R)'s said "no way." Once those 9 said "take a hike," the spineless Mike Johnson knew the thing was DOA and never brought it up.

"oH mY GoDd, tHe GoVeRnMenT WiL ShUt DoWn!"

No, just small portions of non-essentials shut down. The military is funded, entitlements keep churning out checks, etc. The entire government shut-down apoplexy is a lie. The Fed has had 10 shutdowns since 1990. How many of us even noticed? Yep, nobody.

What I don't understand is Bob Good's situation. He has been a champion of the conservative but he pissed off Trump by supporting DeSantis until he dropped out and voted to oust McCarthy and he was subsequently attacked by Trump PACs, Republicans etc.. He lost in the primary by less than 400 votes.

Something is definitely fishy with how he was ousted. Glad he stepped up to the plate (again) during his final days on office. I have no doubt the guy who replaces him (John McGuire) will be a RINO.

THIS would be awesome! The level of assplosions would be epic.

Rand Paul floats Elon Musk for Speaker

by Ashleigh Fields 12/19/24 09:55 AM ET

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.)

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is seen during a Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pension Committee hearing to discuss Starbucks union busting on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) suggested Elon Musk serve as Speaker in a Thursday morning post on X following contentious debates over the continuing resolution (CR)“The Speaker of the House need not be a member of Congress . . . ,” Paul wrot
“Nothing would disrupt the swamp more than electing Elon Musk . . . think about it . . . nothing’s impossible. (not to mention the joy at seeing the collective establishment, aka ‘uniparty,’ lose their ever-lovin’ minds).”
Later Thursday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said she would be open to supporting Musk to replace Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) in a post quoting Paul.
“I’d be open to supporting @elonmusk for Speaker of the House. DOGE can only truly be accomplished by reigning in Congress to enact real government efficiency,” Greene wrote on X.

“The establishment needs to be shattered just like it was yesterday. This could be the way,” she added.
Musk is the co-leader of President-elect Trump’s “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), an advisory panel focused on cutting spending and the size of the federal government.
He and fellow DOGE co-leader Vivek Ramaswamy helped drive a wave of opposition to a bipartisan spending deal Wednesday, ultimately ending in Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance urging Republicans to oppose the measure.

The part that irks me is that they would even try. Every one of those asshats knows the dire financial situation our country is in. It's been a nice ride. But this free spending nonsense has to stop. It is not sustainable. If our "allies and partners" have a problem with it, perhaps they should roll back their own welfare states and clean up their own back yards. The government cannot be everything to everyone everywhere in the world. We have to start looking out for this country, because I'm pretty sure when it comes apart our "allies and partners" won't be lining up to give us free handouts.

Too late for this bill, but does the line-item veto still exist? If ever there was a time for it, this is it.
No. Congress took it away when Nixon was President as punishment for Watergate.

They tried to sneak in $3 billion for new football stadium in D.C., paid for by us. They are ba stards. And I'm sure still no money for the border.
That’s terrible. Bad as it is, I’m still struggling with $15 million to pay for Egyptian’s college tuition. By gosh, somebody on this planet is going to get free tuition on the backs of the American taxpayers. Nobody in America should be in favor of any of this. It’s robbery, no other way to say it.
