Great Article on Matt Canada's Offense...what to expect.

ALSO if you watch and read closely is shows he makes very quick adjustments within the game, something else we have been notoriously slow of doing.

Salute the nation

i really don't think the steelers offense needs a major overhaul. Scheme was the major hurdle. It was so damn predictable. The only reaso the offense looked good early in the year was because defenses were respecting the steeler run game almost out of habit. Once defense realized the run game was garbage and could be completely ignored, it because easy to focus on stopping the pass.

My biggest problem with Fichtner is the offense just seemed like a collection of plays. Nothing sets up anything else.

Canada's offense is built around deception. It depends on showing the defense something and having 2 or 3 different plays that can be run based on how the defense reacts. That was the whole point of Bill Walsh and the 49ers scripting the first 15 or so plays.

A defense always gameplans around how they will stop various concepts. Usually that means they are prioritizing stopping the run, or the short pass or not allowing the deep ball. Once you see how they respond, you can then adjust how you attack. Fichtner was awful at this. Canada seems to do it on the fly.

Not sure if this was posted but Missy Mathews is talking with Canada. Very good watch/listen.
