It looks like he tested the water to see how fans would react and he didn't get the reaction he was hoping for. The majority were ticked off he was trying to squeeze more $ out of the team. Too bad, Greedy Cam, you're already vastly overpaid, Walter Payton award and all. The team may throw him something, but he wasn't getting no Jones $.

I hope he printed out all of his screenshots. Maybe hang them up all over in the locker room. Dude will be a killing machine come the regular season. Talk about motivation!!! Steelers will most likely work out a new extension for him. Two year extension for the 25 and 26 seasons which brings him to what, 37 when he retires. Most likely a deal where they can get out of it rather easily if he hits a wall between now and then.

I'm not so sure you would, having made over $100 mill and on your last legs at 35 years old? I think you might exhibit more class than Cam is showing. If he spends the majority of his time on the sidelines this year (whether from injury and just "getting tired") it's not gonna go over so well.
He is back at OTAs that is classy enough.

Greg Lloyd stop worrying about Cameron Hayward. It is what it is and he will get an extension but I think Omar will also keep the Steelers best interest in mind. Like I had mentioned earlier, most likely a two year extension that would also allow them to get out of it if Cameron hits the age wall here.
Me, my concerns are twofold with this football team for 2024.
First, how well the new guys mesh with this team. Rookies, Free Agents. We’re going to have two rookies most likely starting on the OL. How fast will they assimilate?
Second and for me most important, the QBs, who steps up and elevates their play?
Will Russ recapture his former magic from his Seahawk days? Will young Justin progress and thrive in Sir Arthur’s new offense.
This is the **** I’m watching not worrying about Cam getting an extension.

ultimately, i think they want Fields to be long term answer (not sure he can be). I also see them bringing Justine in to play earlier than they planned due to the Russ lack of magic or injury.

Voluntary Organized Team Activities - The old man isn't "holding out", the media is drumming up drama because it's a contract year for Cam. That's it.

Cam was shooting for a big deal with a contract bonus, ain't gonna get it. He overestimated the infatuation of the fans and his Walter Payton award. Some Steeler fans are out there, out-of-touch with reality and too much into "fandom," or being zealots. But he's overshot just how many are. Steeler fan is like "Cool, you won the Walter Payton award, good job. Now, as far as a 35-year-old DT expecting a big, new contract, well, errrr, not so much there big guy. That's not how a well-run team operates." FB is replete with fans saying a big "no way" to a big, new deal.
