Cam gets his dough

That’s not how the Steelers work, especially for long term players.
Loyalty does appear to be a core value for the Rooneys…but sometimes I wonder about that too when considering how the end of guys like Troy and James careers’ played out…guys that actually acquired some real hardware for the trophy case.

I’d personally rather see great, loyal players overpaid for a year or two (retiring having only been a Steeler) than seeing them in Pats/Bengals/etc uniform…not that my opinion matters to them OBVIOUSLY

“Someone not interested in football discussion,…” Coach Lloyd must have put himself on his own ignore list. The narcissism has completely taken over the characture. The irony is just so delicious.
♨️🧎😻🤔🙇💬😁

Well, once you are established as someone not interested in football discussion, that just wants to devolve into personal attacks, I put you on ignore, which I have done with several of those types. Disagreeing is fine, but once it becomes clear that all you want to do is to dive into personal attacks on me, I cut you loose into the world of ignore.
Personal attacks? How so?
I never called you things such as a ********, or a moron, or a **** or retard. Nor have I brought your mom into this.
None of that.
What’s really going on here is that you came to the realization that you chose the wrong person to engage in back and forth smack.
You know you can’t win so you’ll just go ahead and put me on ignore and go with the “personal attacks” cop out.

There were no personal attacks in there either.

Lloyd accused me of being a Clevelander.
A personal attack of the worst kind.

I’m surprised he hasn’t started a thread about it and called it a football discussion.

Nobody wants the kind of interaction you throw up. Nobody, except the like which have already been put on ignore. If you can't stick to football discussion, you will be put on the list, end of story. No discussion needed.

It’s a fine line between being loyal to long term players and paying them too long out of sentimental reasons.

I said early in the preseason that I would have done just what the Steelers eventually did. Too many people think that when you restructure contracts, that the player is delayed in getting their money. This in most cases is not true. They get the bulk of their money early. Where the benefit to the team is they can spread that money out over the contract period.

These are discussions where I really wish TMC was still a poster here. That guy knew as much about the salary cap as most GM’s.

Forge is completely accurate here. Pushing salary forward as a bonus spreads the cap hit through the remain length of the contract, and therefore reduces the cap hit on the continuing contract.

TMC was a valuable member for sure. Published actual works in regards to player evaluations and contract enumerators during the lean cap years. I think the Dri Archer record thread exhausted his patience.

why did TMC stop posting here?

A combination between wanting to latch onto family-time consuming and cooch irritation.

It wasn’t due to Coach, he owned his *** on every idiotic and clueless player assessment he opined. TMC was like a parent scolding a toddler for eating play dough. “Why do you say things that shows your football ignorance to what you are talking about? Listen more instead of thinking, you will go far” The greatest comment ever said. In the mean time Walter Football was/is still Coach Lloyd’ plagiarism choice of published works.

Exactly how I thought it would play out, almost down to the exact numbers…and I would’ve done it too

Surely do miss the insight TMC brought

Very true. He did school cooch left and right. I just meant he probably got tired of schooling a lost cause.

I know primarily was he just didn’t have the time. His draft evaluation was second to none here and it was so time consuming. Hard with a family to put in that much time for sure….

I don’t get that vibe. The number of “likes” I’ve received throughout this conversation with you doesn’t reflect that at all.
It is a reflection on you.

So let’s get back to football.
As far as Cams contract goes, do you believe Tomlin had any impact on finally getting him signed?
My feeling is that he doesn’t stick his nose in contract matters.
I may be wrong tho. I’m asking you because you seem very knowledgeable about the doings of Tomlin.

Buddy buddy?

……”schooling a lost cause.”

That so encapsulates Coach/Lloyd perfectly. Slash should trademark it. 👍🏻👏🏼

Buddy buddy is indeed in play, anyone who cares has to know that.

Too bad you lack any proof to substantiate it, much less to who “anyone who cares” is.
