Yeah he threw a lot of ducks out there, hopefully he will fly this time in a winning direction.

Is that a feather in your cap? say what

Arm strength is his primary limitation. DBs can have tea, and sometimes a Danish, before his passes arrive. I still prefer him over Mason. I gotta think Paxton Lynch has a stronger arm, but I'm not sure I've ever seen him play.

Duck will respond to a way better showing but ONLY proportional to the ******* play calling.!!!

Maybe he should just tick to the short and intermediate range of passes.

Well we had what 5 RBs with game hats and they hardly ran it.

Maybe if they activate 6 WRs they will hardly pass it.

JFC I hope fitch doesn’t turtle it more than he does. He has been good all starts but last, against a solid team. Has he or MR done much...no. Duck, time to ball out son. Last two weeks or who knows.

Slash, I hear yaZ. I'm hoping Randy has a little better day than last Sunday. I know it's been fully discussed but DUCK didn't get much help last week, fir that matter the entire offense didn't get much help or cohesiveness from the play calling. Broken record or not, Tomlin should have seen it and did just a little tweek,...... But maybe he did. I know every coach has their short-falls but usually it's in just one department or two.......... Our's seems to be in many departments involving X's & O's.

Here's to a great game from all contributing team identities involved, including our "forward scout" videoing,....Ooopps I mean forward scouts.

I'm for sticking with Duck. He just looks more comfy in the pocket than Mason does, and much better mobility.
Randy just needs to design a plan that will cater to his strengths. I have little hope he will though.

So let me reiterate

A. Ducks arm strength isn’t excellent like ben’s, but its league average... most qbs dont throw on a rope, 20 yards downfield, to the sidelines.... but Duck can make all the required throws... Rudolph has better pure arm strength but he doesn’t have as good foot mechanics as duck, so he tends to have some passes that look worse.

B. Duck is more mobile, but he isn’t as good against the blitz yet... he is taking sacks higher than league average and bails on the pocket too quickly. So far the book might be to overload blitz us, because the young rbs don’t know who to pick up, our coaching staff seems clueless on how to remedy this, and the young wrs aren’t always recognizing the blitz and cutting routes off... most of fitchners routes seem to be long developing, which is probably why you are seeing so many dump offs...
It’s a shame there wasn’t some position that had big strong players capable of catching balls in traffic or anything... i mean its not like 90% of young qbs rely on a tight end or anything...

This is 100% how i feel. Beating the overlord blitz should be simple. Throw the ball where they are coming from. If they blast up the middle use a middle screen or slant or crossing routes. I feel there are so many simple things / routes the offensive coaches can do to help they just refuse to for whatever reason

I think this is the issue that all the Duck Maniacs are ignoring. His arm strength is what it is. Even the longer throws he has made have often been dangerous, but he’s gotten away with them against the lessor defensive in the league. The long pass that did work to Dionte Johnson on Sunday night should have been a TD, but it was thrown way behind him

Fans have been a bit fickle. They cried, quit handcuffing him, let him throw the ball down the field. Then when he did (and sucked) they complained that we were too aggressive. “Run the ball more, throw the quick pass.” Maybe Fichtner knows more than we give him credit for.

Sooner or later, we’re going to need to depend on his arm, but he just doesn’t have it. His confidence won’t make up it. My fear is that he’s always going to be an interception factory against better competition.

The chains can be moved with short to intermediate throws. he is capable of that. No reason to force it down the field. Just move the chains and score as much as possible.

My biggest problem with this whole situation is that normal "fans" like us can see things and brainstorm possible adjustments to what the D is doing, but our professional coaches are clueless and make no adjustments to back the D off or take advantage of what they are doing. TE seam routes and crossing routes behind the LB will keep them home and open up some run lanes and not allow as many blitzes. But, the calls have to come in much faster, motion has to become a staple of the offensive play to help Duck identify the Defensive scheme for the play, and you need to run a whole lot of play action to keep those LB's and Safety's honest. It's a shame our coaches don't know all of this!

I stopped reading at “normal fans know what needs to be done, but our professional coaches are clueless.” Clearly we’re all in the wrong professions, or delusional. [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

What would be nice is these receivers run some routes to get open to see what the Duck can do.
