Assault Weapons Ban of 2018. Bans any semi-automatic rifle, pistol, shotgun. I think it is over 200 weapons in all. No grandfather clause, even illegal to possess.

Yeah, I think the goal here is to go big, and win a little. They probably know they won't get it all. Just as long as they get some. Incrementalism. Our government has been using it for decades to strip away rights and freedoms.

I would bet all I own that if a bill like this passed there would be an all-out civil war in this country. I personally know of people that have gun collections of over a hundred guns and most would fall under the bullshit ban. No way in hell this rednecks give up even one weapon let alone surender them all.

I think it is sad. It isn't the guns. Wanting to ban any kind of weapon is nothing more than taking the easy way out. It's quick, painless, and average schmoe's think you did something. No one wants to address the real problem, which is the demolition of the family unit, and the complete and utter destruction of morality and values in American society. Fixing that kind and of thing is hard work, and you can't expect elected officials to actually work for a measly $172,000 a year. Yet here we are at a huge tipping point in American history. And lemmings are lining up to give away their rights. And if you are willing to give away your rights, even the ones you disagree with, you are the problem, the enemy. God help you if you come to my door, for you do not deserve the freedom you wish to strip from your fellow American, and you do not deserve the life this country can provide.

the left never wins anything. America is still a center right country. All gains made by liberals are grounds stupidly given up by conservatives who care about the media writing nice things about them.

Everything the left does is grounded in them knowing they are the minority. Alinsky and others laid out the playbook on how to win by taking a tiny bite each time and never giving anything back.

So they ask for something big like banning semi auto weapons, because they know the Reps will want to be seen as compromising so they will give up some ground they don;t have to give. Something like making the age 21 to buy guns.

The right needs to hold the ground here. You want to make a bump stock illegal. Fine, no real shooter would use that anyway as you can't be accurate with it. It's not even a real party of a gun, it's just something somebody made up to add onto a gun. You want to close loopholes in the background check, fine. I don't want a nut job getting a gun either.

But do not give any new ground. You don't have to. Even after tragedies like this, the polls still always show the majority supports gun rights. And that's after the non-stop anti-gun push by the media and polling that is no doubt worded to push people into answering in favor of gun control.

Look at how Dems defend abortion. They will fight tooth and nail if you suggest that a 15 year old should have to get permission from a parent to have an abortion. Something that is common sense and nearly everybody would support an yet the Reps would be afraid to push for something like that.
