I am officially on the KP8 train

I’m not so sure. I mean, Brady and Mahomes each played one game as a rookie. Hell, Brady threw a whopping three passes his rookie year. Those two guys probably aren’t the best comparison.

That's the point. Or is it fair to compare Pickett to guys who did not play and conclude the guys who did not play were better?

Yeah, no.

You’re right Sarge

After his first season starting seven games Mahomes was 20 TDs and 5 INTs… KP doesn’t compare favorably

After 12 games of his rookie season, Mahomes had thrown 0 interceptions. And 0 TD's. Because he HAD NOT PLAYED.

How about we compare 2nd year Patrick Mahomes to 2nd year Kenny Pickett? Or do you think a position like, say, QB, does not benefit from an entire year of preparation, practice, and offseason work?

Sure, he missed a few open guys - Pickett was open on one play but KP was also running for his life so.... He is making good progress and that's all we can ask for as a rookie.

That's my take. I get that the lack of TD's and the endless field goals are irritating but since the bye week, Pickett has thrown how many interceptions?

He did miss a couple big plays, however. The overthrow to Muth - that should have been a TD. And I don't know if the broadcast showed it, but on one play where Kenny has to move to his right to evade pressure, he hit somebody (Muth? Not sure), but had DJ run up the sideline while the CB was standing still. Could have been and probably should have been another TD.

Pickett has proven he can play in the NFL, but there’s guys in their 12th year and 4th team that did the same early on.

And there are guys on their 3rd team in their 5th year who haven't (Darnonld comes to mind). Point being, if you're looking for a franchise, or even just starting, type of QB, proving he can play in the NFL during his rookie year is a helluva place to begin.

And my point is that Pickett may be more than “just a guy” but he hasn’t proven that yet, time will tell. In fairness, I don’t know that this offense can even provide an opportunity for him to do that. I still think Trubisky is the best QB on the team.

Fair enough. I can see what you're saying and even agree to most of it.
Trubisky tho? I've seen enough.

some of you idiots need to be dropped off at the train station

We have been having alot of scoring drives which is a vast improvement over our early season 3 and out offense. Just need to convert a few FGs into TDs. Those WR sweeps are just drive killers

Tell that to Micah... ;)
Steelers cannot lose when they possess the ball and can run the clock out. He gteed the win via possession. If he scored, his stats look better, score probably looks better, but the Falcants get the ball back and have a small but finite chance to come back.
Selfless play, great for rest of team to see!!!

We didn't punt much yesterday. That's a good sign.

From my perspective, it is hard to judge anyone under the Canada "system." I mean, we have all watched at one time or another almost every one of our QBs perform under the Fichtner/Canada offenses (which are, contrary to what we were sold, about identical) and the results were highly similar. I would say that it is and will remain hard to judge Pickett's progression as long as he is saddled with Canada. It is simply too difficult to discern his weaknesses and growth in such a stale system.

That being said, outside of some clear rookie-type errors I feel like he is doing about as well as he can, particularly as a rookie, in the Canada system.

Well, he's no George Izo.

Worst.
QB.
Name.
EVER???

I have already elevated Kenny above Kent Graham in the Steelers pantheon of QBs
I have him above Tee Martin and yes EVEN above 7.......and by 7 I mean Pete Gonzales:ROFLMAO:
And can we please stop calling him KP8? That comes from TB12 and why would we want our QB to be associated with that stench?
