I think that guy would get along really well with Willie Gay.

Dick has his old Browns jersey on there.

Here's the thing: Dick Shiner had 18 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in his first 304 attempts as a Steeler. Pickett has 4 TDs and 8 INTs in his first 293 attempts.

One is clearly better than the other.

I'm still a little cautious, hand size is a concern but also development under O'Canada. Of course, the O'Canada would be a concern for any rookie QB.

Hope for the best.

Salute the nation
Hand size....lol. Literally since he took the starting spot at QB his hand size was never even a thought. Not even remotely once. Never enter in my mind....until now.

From an INT to TD ratio sure. Hopefully Kenny will keep keeping on limiting those turnovers.

His hands stretched a bit since becoming the starter and practicing with the first team. Just imagine how much his hands could have stretched had he worked with the 1's since day one. Tomlin used his old hand stretch coaching on him.

so did you jump on the dick shiner train back in the day?

Absolutely. I was just poking a little fun at our good friend FordFairLane.

I try to avoid Dick trains at any cost, no matter what their TD:INT ratio is.

Rudy's agent has nothing on Ford. He should be fired immediately.
I don't know -- $5.08 million for his client to hold a clipboard is pretty "solid," don't you think?

Pickett has grown nicely. He is efficient and is a good game manager right now. They are beating teams they should be beating. I would like to see some quick strike/splash plays from him and the offense. This should be the next step. I am also noticing Canada getting the hang of the NFL. Not that I’m in the Canada fan club, but the offense has been playing well.
The run game has been a huge part of helping Pickett. I hope they continue the running back by committee approach. It’s working.

I’d hardly call the. 3-7 points we put up almost every 2nd half as. “playing well”

We suck. out loud in 2nd halves and the red zone (the crucial parts of a game)

KP has merely limited the picks and is no longer costing us games as much…he’s coming off his best game yet tho…so hopefully he keeps improving and can become a decent starter

Time will tell

I think one thing to look at is Malik Willis. He has started two games and they barely let him throw. Which isn't to say he will never be good, but...... i wanted Desmond Ridder, but I never really thought KP was going to be there either.

I think if we don't draft him he is all but certain a 2nd or later round pick. There wasn't a single team with a QB need behind us in the first.

That assumes a team wouldn't have traded up from the early second into the first to take him, or a team you didn't expect who didn't expect him to be there to take him (for example, Packers taking Rodgers even though they had Favre since he wasn't supposed to be there). Hypotheticals are fun, but not really grounded in reality and facts because they can't possibly be so.

This falls into the same fallacy as I saw earlier with people equating Willis with KP. I've seen a bunch of fools say, "we could've got him in the 3rd round"

They say that because that's when Willis went. I watched Willis play those games in TEN. He looked like he never played football before. Ever

Someone would've taken KP late 1st/early 2nd

I have him above Tee Martin and yes EVEN above 7.......and by 7 I mean Pete Gonzales:ROFLMAO:
And can we please stop calling him KP8? That comes from TB12 and why would we want our QB to be associated with that stench?
Hey Slashsteel I see you were surprised by my comment. The first part is a joke...you know the Tee Martin and Gonzales comparison. Of course Kenny is far better.
The second part I was serious about. That whole KP8 thing needs to be scrapped, it reeks of "me too!" And in this case the me too is douche canoe Brady....no thanks.

Hmmm. Here I thought TB12 stood for Terry Bradshaw. Go figure.

Pickett is the one.
He has the "it" factor.
You can see it in his eyes. All yinz doubters look at his eyes godamnit!

He could have went in the 1st or 2nd. Could have. But the facts are no QB went after Pickett until round three. There was no consensus number one QB in last years draft it was more like Baskin Robbins and pick your flavor. Also, you completely ignore my statement that no team after us in the first had a QB need. Who was going to take him? Chiefs, Packers, Bills, Cowboys, Ravens, Jets(just drafted QB #2 in 2021), Jags, Pats, Bengals or Vikings?

At some point the Vikes have to be considering moving on from overpaying One O'clock Kirk. They may have been interested.
