Thought the same too, can someone explain?I thought the "going down to the ground rule" only pertained to when the play was in the end zone. Looks like a catch to me, as he had possession and was down. Ground cant cause a fumble
They didn't get hosed. That was a textbook "no catch" per the current rules. As I said in my previous post, AB lost a ball last year after he caught it, hit the ground and rolled over. That was more BS than this no catch. Good call by the refs if you want to be consistent.
The NFL really needs to overhaul its rules when it comes to a reception. Two feet down with possession and it's a reception. Simple and clear cut with absolutely nothing to interpret.
