Ice Bowl 2.0: DAL/GB

hmmmm 4th and 2 yards to go with the #1 RB in the NFL.....lets Chuck it toward the Endzone!!!

That's why they lost. They did it twice. 3rd and 1 late in the first half, and they're looking to go deep. If they play it smart there, they're up 17-7 at the half, and are trailing by 1, not 6 late in the game.

Though Bryant took three steps, he never fully regained his balance, which is why he had to maintain possession while hitting the ground.

It was the right call.

N.F.L. Rule 8, Section 1, Article 3, Item 1: Going to the ground. If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball after he touches the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete.

Ball moved, hit the ground... no catch

regardless of right or wrong, the NFL must want rules so complicated that we, the fan, can't ever determine what the rule is.

Good call or bad rule, I am filing under karma for Dez walking his helmetless butt on the field to protest the flag that got picked up last week.
The refs gaveth, and they taketh away.
I wonder what all the ref defending cowboy fans from last week are saying this week?

They are saying that they were robbed on a terrible call.

The fact that you had to qualify it with "though" hits home on how dumb the rule is.

The Calvin Johnson catch was more of a catch than this. According to the current rules and all the ****** up qualifications, it is not a catch.

I like the two feet in and control. So, under my rules, it is a catch.

The head of officials, who was seen exiting the Cowboys party bus last week, instructed today's officials to NOT give the Cowboys any calls today.

You show that video to 100 unbiased football fans, 99 will say that is a catch. Forget the NFL's dumb *** rule interpretations, just use your eyes.

Wait until all those Texans find out the ref that made the call is from the Greater Pittsburgh area....

At first I thought the reversal was BS.

But after seeing this, it's clear the force of the ball hitting the ground caused it to squirt up and onto his arm.

No catch. But close.

Sorry 'Pokes.

That was my feeling as well. Under the retarded NFL survive going to the ground rules I guess it isn't a catch. But they better really look at that rule cause in my mind when a guy exhibits full control and has the presence of mind to stretch the ball for the goaline the play ended the millisecond he hit the ground.

It's obvious to me

If Dez would kept put two hands on the ball and secured the catch instead of showboating they would at least had the ball at the 1

Showboating? The guy was trying to score.

some else said he was showboating.....spike is just trying to stoke the fire a little bit.

That's just it.. Dez has 3 steps, a knee down, an elbow down before the ball moves..but it's not a catch. No football move.

I saw Romo on the sidelines telling him he should have held the ball against his head

ha ha

**** the Cowboys - I don't give **** about the call, I wanted them to lose

Did he do some sort of celebration dance in mid-air that I missed for all these showboating comments? I see a guy diving for the winning TD with his team's season on the line.

Every time I watch that video the call seems worse. 3 frigging steps and two body parts already on the ground. Don't get me wrong I dislike the Cowboys. But that was a great game saving play that should be one of the best catches in recent playoff memory in crunch time. That was 4th down for God's sake!. Instead it's erased on a stupid technicality.

The rule is if you're going to the ground, you maintain possession. Period. It's a bullshit, stupid, are you out of your ******* mind on crack rule, but that's the rule. I remember when you needed possession and two feet for a catch, then you could light the ball on fire and stuff it up your opponents ***, still a catch. Now it's two feet, football move, possession to the ground blah blah blah. It's ******* idiotic, but it's the rule, and he didn't.

Joe

none of that matters

another non-catch

Complete and utter horseshit. Even worse than the Dez Bryant call. This is where we are in the NFL 2015. I hate this league more every day. Anyone with half a brain knows that should be a TD just by watching it. Unfortunately current NFL policy makers have much less than half a brain.

Yep. As i said in another thread weeks ago when a TE caught a pass while going to the ground against us...when he hit the ground the ball moved. Ruled a catch. Tomlin challenged it. The play stood. That is what gets me. from week to week it's called differently. if Dez could of gotten 15 steps in while falling to the ground and the ball moved it still wouldn't be a catch. That's the RULE. As stupid as it may be.
