Always does my heart good to see Romo's sad face after a whole year of nut-hugging.
Mine too...he always looks like deer in the headlights.

The reversal was on Dez, if he had focused on securing the ball rather than reaching for the goal line when he was well short Dallas would've been 1st and goal down near the end zone. Not a smart play, not putting your team first.
That was a catch. Anybody who has watched football for more than 5 years knows that was a catch. The reason it was not a catch is the NFL has over complicated the definition of a catch to a point where it's indecipherable and almost any close catch can be ruled either way.

Consistency or no consistency, it doesn't pass the eye test. He had control of the ball stumbled forward 2 more steps THEN went to the ground. He should be considered a runner at that point. BS interpretation of the rule.
That rule is designed for guys diving and hitting the ground as they catch the ball. That's not what happened there.
Can't argue with you on this. I agree. In my book, it was a catch. In Goddell's world, it is not. Flag football, here we come. That was a catch. That's BS. If Antonio Brown does the same exact thing you are saying it was a reception.
He was engaged with the defender and still in the process of catching the ball. He must maintain possession through hitting the ground. Remember AB being overturned last year when he rolled over and then lost the ball.

Reminds me of a game the Steelers were playing few weeks back. I forget who. A TE crossed the middle of the field to the side lines and was going to the ground while catching the ball with the defender making contact. It was ruled a catch. I argue with someone(I forget who) that it shouldn't be a catch for the same reasons this one for Dez wasn't. In the end the rule is horrible. And in my opinion this is why the game is bad. From game to game the refs our just inconsistent on there calls. One week they rule it one way and another week they rule it exactly opposite.

Which goes to the rule. You should not need to interpret anything. Steratore is arguably the best ref in the game and he made the call. Mike Pereira agreed that it was an incomplete pass. Rule problem.
Ok, I guess we'll put you down as believing Dez shouldn't secure the ball in that situation.
The ball was secure, he took two or three steps and nearly scored. The guy is trying to win a game for his team. I am perfectly fine with what he did.
So that's not a catch because after clean possession, 3 steps and a knee and elbow down, the ball moved while a player was stretching for the endzone. But it is a catch if a wr traps it against the ground so long as he has "control" while its touching the ground.
Seattle is going to murder Green Bay. Remember how Jim Harbaugh looked after the Steelers annihated Indy in the '96 wildcard round? That's gonna be Rodgers
You may have a valid complaint, But Dez needs to know the rules and play smart in that situation, instead of attempting a risky move that was borderline showboating.
