After that Monday night game, tgey graded Miles Garrett higher than TJ watt…

Miles Garrett had 1 solo tackle and a qb hit…

TJ Watt had 4 tackles… 2 solo, 1 sack, 4 qb hits, 2 TFL, a PD and the game winning FR for a td…

Pff is a junk site that inappropriately ranks things to fit their bias. They heavily rate their subjective win vs block stat to deprioritize objective stats… its just junk science… moore gave up zero sacks to the pretend DPOY Miles Garrett yet got a 3.5/100 rating… newsflash.. the Tomlin strategy for players like Garrett is to let him win wide but run quick plays away from him…

I even went to a bunch of advanced stats to see how this can be possible… watt wasn’t credited for any hurries, garrett got 1, but Watt had 2x the pressures than Garrett 4-2 .. so basically garrett s pff rank was bolstered by a 40% pass rush efficiency rating… Watt had a 7.7%… and that was clearly based on block win%, which is a subjective and unreliable stat….

Let me restate.. PFF is garbage… if you use them. You are an idiot. They are basically the scouting services that churn out draft grades that are 90% pure garbage

Had times I liked to use them but didn't realize how wacky their approach was. Easier to see in comparison from one clearly better performance.

I turn on the game at kickoff time and turn it off when it's over. Why do people need to listen to other people's opinions about football? Your opinion is just as valid as theirs. Am I alone? I watch the game and that's it.

If the Tomlin strategy is to let good pass rushers win wide vs LT/Moore then run quick plays away that would explain the insane amount of short pass quickly to the right on first down in the Canada offense

If the strategy involves letting the opponent win I would suggest:

A) a tackle that doesn’t have to let the opposing edge rusher win so frequently
B) stack a run capable LT next to a mountain of a TE and run at the opposing rush specialist making him become one with grass
C) also suggest as you stated-never rely on PFF’s garbage “stat science”

Right I guess it’s a win for the lineman too when Watt instinctively realizes it is a quick hitting pass play and decides to time a jump to sWatt a ball for an incompletion or easy pick for team mate rather than continuing his rush

They are a garbage source for info

I think this is a somewhat valid strategy. A lot of coaches have done similar things when approaching good pass rushers. They basically let the player take themselves out of the play.

Guys on 93.7 yesterday were openly speculating if Myles Garrett is a PFF sponsor.

IMHO....Based on the controversial "fan eye test" method....
Dan Moore was our best offensive linemen in that game.

Curious as to what the Steelers graded him out at?

Better than our FIRST round pick, obviously !

Regardless Moore did a pretty good job.

Just hard to tell that O-line hasn't lived up to billing. The run blocking has definitely not been varsity. They also don't seem to be communicating well. So for me hard to say who is doing well or not doing well. But as a unit they are not good enough.

I hear yaz slash, this offensive line seems to be poorly coached to the degree of OC taking away the obvious blocking scheme. Not sure MUNCH could right this ship unless the OC changed scheme to actually allow reasonable blocking practices & angles.

I heard yesterday or the day before that none of our OL was over like 55 and Moore was the lowest at like 22 or 23.

Why are you just discovering this??? They have Bosa over TJ of I recall... silly rabbits...

I looked it up on PFF.and their is a 95%chance someone uses them to quote stats again

PFF only gives themselves as 87.3% chance of being grammarly correct !

PFF was smart enough to know that there’s a ton of stat and fantasy football dorks out there that they made a business catering to them.

Ray Lewis was a magician that could make stats show up on his stat sheet that never actually happened. Garrett has now taken that magic and made it even more powerful such that there is no need to make stats magically appear. Rather, he can just use his magical ESPn to make all of the dumbasses think that a ******* performance is better than a great performance. Legit.

I agree but habit is still listening to the commentary. Plus it gets a little hard to follow certain aspects with penalties etc. I'd love to be able to cinque the Steelers radio broadcast but I cannot get because the NFL has to wring every penny out.
