The defense needs to keep playing with that killer instinct, I HATE HATE HATE the bend don't break horseshit, go after the qb more often than not, and if you get beat a time or two, or if it costs you a game or two, it STILL beats the hell out of watching some douchenozzle pick your "10 yards and a tackle with a pillow" defense get eaten alive by some never was qb.

Go Steelers! Bring back blitzburgh!

Joe

Pressure all day and hits all day....any other QB besides Luck and they walked outta there on the cart.

Just to add....the old guys played great (Harrison and Keisel)

That was a totally different defense today. Sure, Luck had some success but he also threw 2 picks and had a safety. They were hitting him all game long. Not many QB's can stand up to that pressure and abuse. We need to do that every week. Only the elite QB's will be able to handle it with some success.

Since when do we have a pass rush? I like it!!!! And I'll second the motion that the old guys played great.

Worlids has earned his money the last couple of weeks too.

Totally agree, rush the heck out of the QB that will pick our secondary apart if you let him stand back there. If they make a play so be it but Luck was knocked around most of the night when we put the rush on.

Bend but don't break is tough to use against decent QBs that can complete passes. That D requires the offense makes a mistake that gets them off the field.

Love this kind of D, keep the pressure on

They can't change overnight but I think they've got to start playing man coverage. DLB's zone coverage just doesn't work against the modern offense and short quick passes. But then DLB is in the HOF and I'm not.

Several of those long passes were against man coverage. I remember the very first long ball not only being one on one but also press coverage. No 10 yard cushion. You can't always scheme your way away from bad players.

This game reminded me (in some respects) of the lambasting we gave the Pats* in 2011. No way we would've won without changing up what they were doing on both sides of the ball leading up to that game just as they did yesterday. Ben in that game suddenly went to a short drop and throw on almost every play (went mostly no huddle too if I remember correctly) and kept their D on their heals all afternoon. It was a perfect gameplan. And the D just brought more pressure on Marcia and took away a lot of his short passing lanes.

Yesterday, Ben used the play action often and kept their D in-check all game long. Along with that was a well designed offensive gameplan...bravo Haley!. Let's hope they stay with this "offensive identity" for the remainder of the season. That run, run and 3rd and long bullshit will hopefully be history. They have to start getting some divisional wins so let's hope they play the same way against those f*cking Rats next week!
