Initial Thoughts on Chiefs Game

I might add. KC had big time OLine problems heading into this game. Our pass rush was crap again. Mahomes got rid of the ball quickly. As usual Andy Reid makes Mike Tomlin look like a second tier coach again.

Five of the last 7 years we have lost 3 games in December. When it matters. Will we go 4 for 4 against the Bengals?
Doesn’t seem that long ago before the Cleveland game the Tomlin nuthuggers ( you know who you are) on this site were yapping about coach of the year. Loved to call out the “ Tomlin Haters “ all the time.
How’s that working out for you guys now?

Yeah, the difference between how quickly Mahomes was getting the ball out and how long Russ was holding it was pretty stark.

The biggest difference is guys getting separation and designed short routes. The other thing is Mahomes can hit them a bit easier due to his height, Russ looks like Arnold Jackson in the pocket.

Tomlin needs to go. But the DC needs to be packing his bags 1st or at least with.

Not giving up on the season, might win a few playoff games.

We might get lucky and win one, just because it won't be against the top shelf teams. We don't really stand a chance against the top three or four teams in the conference though.

Building a championship team is tough. Its trial and error. Looks like we faiuled again.

It's definitely tough. As bad as the past month has been I still feel we're a lot closer than we've been in several seasons. There's holes to fill but much fewer than previous seasons. Right now I think our OL is killing us. A lot of rookies are wearing down and we have some key injuries on the right side. Definitely need more DL depth too as well as help in the secondary. And a WR2!

Tomlin is the DC. Austin's defense looks identical to Butler's and the last couple years of DL. I remember posters being shouted down for defending Lebeau and told the game passed him by when they were trotting this same tired **** out at the end of his tenure.

Bingo and we all know it,minus the Tomlin cheerleader club. Their devotion is unmatched.


I was really hoping this **** wouldn't happen this year, and here we are again collapsing into a great big pile of wtf.


It does not matter who they draft, the results will be the same. That part I'm sure of.

I did something today that I never ever do. Haven't done it in almost 40 years of watching Steelers games. At the start of the 4th quarter with things still somewhat in doubt, I turned the game off. Went back to watching Christmas Story.

I guess I just decided that I've seen enough of these annual 2nd half of the season collapses under this regime. I think I've just hit my limit. I can't believe in this team the way it stands anymore. I think they are phony contenders. Paper champions as they say.

It used to be the opposite. December is when Tomlin was at his best, but not the last several seasons. This is at least the third or fourth collapse.

Travis Kelce, apparently, has some kind of cloaking device when playing us. He has the slowest average route-running speed in the league this season at a blazing 11mph, lol.

There are still major question marks at OL, DB WR and QB going into next season, and Watt and Heyward will be another year older

The only reason this season seemed better for awhile was because they've had better QB play than they've had in years, but it's proving to not be enough against the better teams, given the other issues.

And even if Russ resigns, he's not getting any younger and might be worse next year.

This is the Russ I saw. Even playing well, the same guy. Takes bad sacks, it's a dump off or moon ball. Too many balls batted down because of his height. I hope they don't extend him. I would have rather ridden Fields to see what they have in him.

That is what I wanted....Fields for the year. Then Russ played pretty damn well for a long stretch. These last 3 games were horrible. What now? Ride Russ out? Start Fields?

Agree. Especially with your last statement. There is no guarantee that Russ even comes the same as he has been this year, and this year isn't good enough when it comes to competitive teams. So much forthe people who wanted to lock him earlier in the year while his price was "reasonable." It looks like he just got a hwole lot cheaper. I'm noto sure there wll be many teams beating down the door to sign him.
