Initial Thoughts on the bills game

The timeout utilization at the end of the 1st half illustrates my biggest problem with Tomlin. He just doesn't seem to be much of a tactician, grasp the finer points of the game, his job etc., at least not consistently. I'm certainly no football genius, but that just seems like basic stuff to me.

well we all obviously hoped the Steelers would win,I’m sure most of us knew that was a pipe dream.
Last week I said I fear getting behind early, will take us right out of our game. And that they needed a spy on Allen, his running will beat us.
Not sure if they had a spy on him or not. But it’s not like Allen hasn’t been doing it all season to all teams played. Our defense was again disappointing. We were not aggressive enough in our play calling. Kept running on first down no matter what. Even when Rudy was getting into a rhythm. If that punter is there next season…..geeeeez. Im not giving up on Fitz, and injuries or not his stock hasn exactly pointed up the last couple years. It’s all just the same old same old. I mean come on now.
17 years.
it’s time for a new burst of energy.

A friend called before the game and I said I'd be relatively happy if the Steelers kept it at 31-17. They did.

They could've won today. Too many turnovers and penalties. I thought for at least 30 minutes of football the Steelers looked like the better team.

The refs were bad, but it's no way a reason why the Steelers lost.

1-11 without Watt. Yeah, he's that important. DPOY.

The offensive coordinators really thought they could just play power football at the start and the Bills ate it up.

What was wrong with Najee? He wasn't physical today as he had been down the stretch.

This offense doesn't have a primetime performer. Not a single guy you can count on to get the ball and make a play in the clutch moment. With that said, Warren was the best player on offense today and I thought DJ did alright.

Another playoff game, another egg laid by the defense. That's Tomlin's bread and butter and it's the biggest failure when it comes to playoff performances.

That would be stupid. Why give a guy long term job security for the same **** over and over.
The Steelers(Rooney's) way.....or so I heard at least once or twice.

My girl stopped watching the Pirates after they showed no desire to improve. I think from a coaching perspective they are showing the same thing. Just filling their pockets from the money we give them and not caring. I think my health is more important at this point. I can't let them be the nail. I don't mind losing seasons if they are trying something different to improve. But if you are out there just trying to line your pockets without a care in the world. Yeah we will see...
I did the same thing with the Pirates back in the early 90's. I haven't watched a single game since. There's just no point.

I thought for sure Tomlin would realize he had 3 timeouts and Buffalo's punter was hurt and Buffalo was trying to run out the clock and he should use his timeouts after the sack.

Okay, I didn't think he'd realize it but he should have heard a guy in Marietta, GA screaming, "CALL A ******* TIMEOUT, CALL A ******* TIMEOUT!!!!!" after the sack.

I doubt we win with Watt playing. The Bills would have simply held him. Refs were not calling holds today.

How about Tomlin walking out of his press conference? He wanted no part of the question about his contract status. Probably not the most appropriate time to ask. Save that one for the last PC.

Probably concerned of a pick 6 if they got the ball back and played it safe.

Steelers are over. Is it too early to ask what everyone is watching? Any great new series on Netflix or whatever streaming?🙃

Also ….Go Canucks go! I always start watching the great game of Hockey after the Steelers are out.

What I don't understand is to me going up there to Buffalo you have to take chances. Every early pass was short and to the sidelines. To me in this situation you have to be willing to lose big to win, if that makes sense. Why not? Playing their way they were down 21-0.
They wanted to set up the run early. You are right though if we go with something different like play action very early it would have worked maybe....no creativity. Same ol same ol

The irony that WCOs like Canada's use the pass to set up the run.

Awwww coach walked out on the conference. This is a big-boy league. You don't perform you end up on the sidewalk. They do it to players every week. Should be no different for a coach who hasn't won a playoff game in 8 years. Matter of fact, it's long overdue especially with the talent that has been on this team.
