Yep..I think a lot has to do with who is throwing the football. Ben always seemed to make players look very good.
So has Russell Wilson during his career with Seattle.

Per usual, some non-direct, general attack without covering any specifics on my assertions; real amature hour. I gave specifics on each TE and you run away from them, as if they were never addressed. Kind of like your general hypocrisy you provide at negatives towards Tomlin, while making critical remarks yourself: complete inconsistency, complete hypocrisy. (See condemn one act and do the same act yourself.)I don’t think many said that Washington was the next Eric Greene. I can’t even remember one poster saying that.
Congratulations you actually dissed an entire positional group. You have exceeded even your lofty whimsical standards.

Your word have proven to be pure crap; why would I trust anything you said? Worse than just your words, your words and actions have proven hypocritic, the worst. "You blah, blah blah." (Now I'm doing that very same blah, blah, blah.)Ahhhuh take the bet then chicken.
Ummm....Ok. Perhaps. The discussion though was about Steelers WR's...or so that was my take.Yep..
So has Russell Wilson during his career with Seattle.

Hardly. Far from it actually. Coach Lloyd indicated Muth has “under-performed“ in his career. Having a QB that read the defense expertly and deviated from the OC play calls frequently in the red zone was all the difference for Muth as a rookie. Even in that joke of an offense.By saying this you are pretty much agreeing with Greg Loyds point?
I agree with the top 10 talent prognostication. But, wholeheartedly disagree with not living up to the hype. The kid had 60+ catches his first two years, a 1st down machine (30+ each year), and almost 100 targets and 800 yards in year two - WITH a ridiculous offensive scheme and sub par QB play (other than Pickett’s occasional good play). Injuries robbed him on his third year, of which will need to be closely looked at. But he has shown he can be a dynamic player within a competent offensive schene.I think Muth has the talent to be a top 10 TE
Through 3 years his numbers are nothing special or remotely close. yes he has had a poor QB and a bad OC
But saying he has not lived up to the hype and a 2nd rd pick is fair and 100% accurate.
Nope. Washington showed he could catch passes, but Kirby Smart used him inside the 40 yard line to create mismatches for Bowers, who could well be a dominant player in the NFL. (Berm and any other SEC team fan will attest to that). Double teaming Bowers opened up another receiver, either it being WR, RB or TE. Covering the huge catch radius of Washington, opened up windows for Bowers. Washington’s blocking in college was adept for his size, not for his technique which was very raw. When you say red zone weapon did you mean blocking?
Washington had 774 yards and 3 TD in 3 full seasons.
For some context in 3 years in the same offense
Bowers had 2731 yards and 31 TD in 3 full seasons
As stated above, Smart used him predominantly in 12 personnel formation within the 40 yard line. To create receiver mismatches and allow points or first downs, usually with Bowers being the recipient. Not sure what you were referring to but Washington was anything but a Red zone weapon at Georgia?
When he was drafted everyone was hyping him to be the best blocking TE in years. Some said the Steelers would be better off bulking him up and transitioning him to the O-line because of his abilities as a blocker.
Again, as you intimated the sub - par QB play and pathetic offense scheme, Heyward was an afterthought in the offense like Cal Austin was. However, when he had opportunities as the 3rd TE, or H-back, on the field he made the catches (8 of 23 for first downs). As for penalties, looks like he had 6 penalties (5 accepted) on (403/247) 650 total snaps last year. Two which were on ST. Something to improve on, but infinitesimal on impact.Heyward made some big plays in 2022, I will admit I was excited, he was awful in 2023. Awful
In 17 games he caught 23 passes, had 2 drops, with 1 rush for 0 yards.
On top of that there were only 2 players on the team that had more penalties.
let that sink in.
Gheez, what’s the average rushing attempts for H-back’s nowadays? I’m not postulating Connor is an All-Pro difference maker. Only that for a 6th round flyer, when given opportunities he makes plays - 23 catches on 38 targets in 2023 as a the third TE.Basic H-back/TE Hybrid player?? Guy had 0 rushing yards on the season and averages less than 1 catch per game for his career.
If this is the best the Steelers can do i don't even know what to say?
Wrong. Patterson was brought in to be the KR1 due to the new Kickoff rules, first. The fact that he played in Smiths offense as a RB and has experience as a starting WR was secondary. Pruitt and Miller were brought in on one year vet minimum deals so as to provide transition assistance to current players on Smith’s offense. There is no assurances that they will make the final 53, although it wouldn’t surprise me if they did or were signed to the PS.Patterson, Pruitt and Miller, all favors for the new OC, based 100% on past relationships instead of potential future performance. There is no market for guys like this in the NFL. Pruitt and Patterson are both on the wrong side of 30 and Scotty Miller was a distant #3/4 WR in Tampa.
More like a “Coachism”. It was rampant under his Coach guise.WTF is amature???? oh just a typo. nevermind
F83, I thought the SEA GM shot down the DK trade rumors? He called it “fake news” for the draft cycle.would love Deebo good blocker runs great routes, but say we get DK you have mismatch nightmare scenerios 2 6"4 210+ 4.3 guys with great verticals add in Muith 6"7 and Wilson and Austin if that is your empty set where muth is in to chip or te screen or short drag you have on the outside 2 6"3 guys who run in the 4.4 both slot guys low 4.3.
Yes, you and the Tim Tams, your words mean so much. Never take the word of a hypocrite.I wouldn’t be the person deciding doofus so if my words were negative I would lose the bet.
Spare me all the rest of your bullshit.
I honestly think a top 10 TE must be at least good at blocking, Muth isn't there yet I think. Regarding his receiver/route/hands skills I do think he has the talent already to be top 10. Just improve blocking and stay healthyHardly. Far from it actually. Coach Lloyd indicated Muth has “under-performed“ in his career. Having a QB that read the defense expertly and deviated from the OC play calls frequently in the red zone was all the difference for Muth as a rookie. Even in that joke of an offense.
His sophomore season he improved in every category except TDs, a byproduct of a predictable offense and being the security blanket for two new QBs, one a rookie. Last year, he was on track to equal or exceed his prior year’s results, but injuries sidelined him for a 1/3rd of the games. So, no. Muth has not under-performed in three years. In fact, he’s shown he could be dynamic weapon with the right offense and QB throwing him the ball. He will be a huge part of Smith’s offense, so this year will be his litmus test.
