Kenny Pickett Is Our QB. Deal With It, Whiners.

Yes .. Good call on your part, Obama. We drafted a QB in the first round because our brass was confident that Mitch was the guy this season. That makes sense.

Derp.
We over drafted a player that is T's modus operandi...
Mitch will be the starter...
Derp

He won't pick up the system fast enough, unless you want a game manager out of the gate.....which is what the other two probably are.
Gotta go the other way on you...Pickett will pick up the playbook prettty fast as he's a cerebral QB....I wouldn't be surpised if he wins the job outright, out the gate...

I hope you are right and it sucks to be Mitch at that point, but hey Mitch you are still getting paid good money to hold a clipboard.

I think part of what appears to be desperate over reach is Tomlin wanting to prove he can win without Ben instead of waiting for next years far better class and the uncertainity of what the draft picture for the Steelers will look like. Colbert was not going to offer much resistance as he is on his way out.

I hate to say it because he's a USDA Grade A A**hat, but I hope Ballz Deep in His Own A** is completely right and this guy is the second coming of Steve Young or Montana(the REAL GOAT) himself because our division opponents have fangs now.

Hey if KP wins the job we trade Mitch for a 5th...It's all good

Over the past 5 years, he could only win just over half the time with Ben - and not in playoff games.

The bigger challenge will be for KP to win in spite of Dopey.

That's BECAUSE of Ben. Once Ben's sandlot game was done his flaws became far more evident. Remember the Jags playoff game where he threw about 300 interceptions? Had nothing to do with Tomlin.

And the following season arguably the best RB in the league stopped showing up for work and the best WR in the league went crazy.

Yep. Had nothing to do with Dopey not having control of the locker room that he's paid to control. Good call.

Pickett's TD to pick stats:
2018 12-6
2019 13-9
2020 13-9
2021 42-7

One good year...the rest are below average at best. And Colbert said they ignored the analytics when it came to Pickett....yeah I would say so.

This should be an entertaining weekend.

And L.B. being a young fool when it came to money is Mike Ts fault? How did that work out for Bell? AB was great when he was making Ben look great, wasn't he? Who kept him producing all that time?

Clown....

Just to confirm, are we factoring in all the games he has missed against us over the last couple of seasons? Assuming you appreciate facts more than some of your counterparts here, I have to assume this is a consideration. In short, and dating back to 2018, Lamar is 2-3 against us (and for the purpose of full disclosure, I believe he may have come out of 1 of those games early that we ultimately won). So, it seems like he beats us almost half of the time that we play.

For the record, I don't consider Lamar a very good QB. I just think that it's likely that he's better than anyone that we currently have playing the same position.
I asked a simple question - WHEN was the last time Lamar beat us???

Waiting.

Pissing match over nothing. Real sensitive lot here. Some certainly with a chip. Not winning **** or even getting close in 12 years does that to folks. All good.
All I'm thinking about now is the DL and them not getting run over like ******* again. Well that and a wr who doesn't have ******* issues.

Dominant wins in some playoff games would go a long way in shutting everyone the **** up.

Actually, what you've done is cry like a sis for the past 15 hours because you didn't get your way.
*****, I'm over it. The pick went your way - want a ******* parade??? I got my pick in Najee and Minkah - like I said, put your knee pads back on and unhinge your jaw...it's Friday night---you got money to make, *****...

Bob is in rare form lately. His troll is trending... Well in the wrong direction but yeah it is trending...

Just because you grew up watching your Dad do it doesn't make it common-place in every family, Gump.

Bob leave families out of your troll. Go sit in the corner and put on that nice shiney cone I bought ya.

I think we all knew a QB was coming. I'm not torn up by the decision they made and Tombert seemed to be all smiles about it - meaning they wanted him badly. They know more than I do and got to see the kid regularly. Pickett might turn out to be really good and I hope he does. Best of luck to him.

As @Steelr4evr said, I hope we address the defense so we don't have to watch 15 yd runs over and over again.

Frick Park is waiting for some more Ballz Deep.

This. I don't know who is available in round 2 but tired of them getting gashed for 200+ on the ground too many times.

So here are the things we are not focusing on
First off Pickett was basically scouted by them for five years… he practices in the same facility as the Steelers on the south side and plays in hienz field already… he has talked a bunch about talking to Tomlin and other Steelers through the years as they hung around practice…and his OC the past three years was Ben’s old QB coach under cowher… he wasn’t retained by Tomlin but the parting was amicable… he already had a job lined up with the eagles… so they had more access to how he really is than they had for most prospects…

Secondly Picketts numbers are misleading because for most of his career they wanted him to play in an ultra conservative run first offense… there was an infamous game vs Clemson where he only threw for 8 yards because pitt ran for like 300 yet still managed to lose… he did have some issues with his deep ball at first, but whipple worked him through that..

Basically thats the reason people are so down on him… he already got all the nfl coaching in college… he played pro style… there aren’t any great mysteries about how he probably will develop. His technical problems are minor.

With willis you get that lotto ticket feel to him… if you fix some things and you get a megastar… same with Ridder…
Puckett is a vanilla pick.. had we drafted him last year in the sixth round, he might have been viewed as a grand slam… in the first this season its a sacrifice bunt….
