Kenny Pickett Is Our QB. Deal With It, Whiners.

When was the last time Lamar Jackson beat us???

I'll wait on your response.
Just to confirm, are we factoring in all the games he has missed against us over the last couple of seasons? Assuming you appreciate facts more than some of your counterparts here, I have to assume this is a consideration. In short, and dating back to 2018, Lamar is 2-3 against us (and for the purpose of full disclosure, I believe he may have come out of 1 of those games early that we ultimately won). So, it seems like he beats us almost half of the time that we play.

For the record, I don't consider Lamar a very good QB. I just think that it's likely that he's better than anyone that we currently have playing the same position.

you might want to check the accuracy of your post

2018 Jackson didn't start either game and only had something like 1 pass play - so those are not Lamar starts
2019 - ravens won first meeting in OT by a field goal (Ben did not play) jackson threw something like 3 picks and sucked as a passer...he did run for a bunch of yards though. something like 60 or 70 - jackson sat out the second game
2020 - Steelers win first match up and jackson had covid and did not play in the second one
2021 - jackson played okay and the steelers won the first match up - jackson did not play in the second one

so the last 3 years he played half the games and "won" 1 out of 3 - without Ben playing and being more successful as a rb than a qb

Thanks for providing this follow up, Cookie. I stand corrected. Statmuse.com was my citation, however; despite them stating that he started 5 games since 2018, as you confirmed, he didn't start that first game in 2018 and he only threw 1 pass in the 2nd game in '18.

With that said, I was incorrect in stating that he beats us "almost half the time". It appears that he beats us just over 33% of the time.

don't give a **** about your citation.

He didn't start either game in 2018, flaco did......

the raven defense won that game and it was without Ben

Lamar never won a game against Ben

How many games is Ben playing this season? All the more reason to hope we get Pickett.

How many games is Ben playing this season?
doesn't matter

Mitch is better than the **** show at qb without him the last few years. and jackson is still a rb playing qb and pickett and his 17 wonderlic can try his luck elsewhere

Gilsmall Sack,

Could you provide a citation showing where I stated that “Trubisky will stink just because he’s from Da Bears.” I’m standing by .. Thanks.
Hey everybody. Ballz Deep here .. Before anyone asks, yes, the nickname is related to extra curricular activities that are unrelated to throwing a football.

If 2022 means anything to the franchise and its fans, we're going to need to aggressively go after KP next week. For all the Malik hopefuls, we'll see how that works out. I don't know about you all, but the thought of Kordell Stewart 2.0 at the helm in 2022 doesn't excite me. Give me a QB with arm strength and accuracy any day.

And while I do see Mitch as an upgrade to Macy Rudolph, I don't recall any instance in history where a Bears reject ever turned into a Steelers franchise all-pro. Btw, let's not forget that Glitch wanted to play with the Giants. That speaks to his decision making ability if you ask me.

It's rare that a franchise can lose a longstanding, HOF QB and remain successful. Hell, even Belichick and Sean Payton couldn't do it. And I'm sure most of us would agree that Tomlin isn't exactly on equal turf with those two legends.

Lastly, why the frig didn't we sign the Honey Badger and resign Haden?? Instead we'll continue collecting rejects off waivers, I'm sure.

Without Pickett in 2022 prediction: 5-11-1
With Pickett in 2022 prediction: 10-7
In the red.....
Not only can you not recall all the garbage you spew but, you are actually dumb enough to believe that Pickett will start. Unless you are implying that just having him on the roster will magically improve everyone:ROFLMAO:

Dude will not start, dude will not even backup Mitch T. He's a rookie and he will be the third stringer. Mason has much more experience in the system and he can get the job done if called upon.

Face it, lady. Glitch is a back up. Maybe he'll start a few games this year, but he sure as sh*t isn't starting all the games. This draft pick pretty much solidified that.

Sorry that you and the other 4 Glitch hopefuls are teary-eyed.

Yeah, good job avoiding the "citation" you wanted...putz. I am not a Mitch T. fan, wanted Russel Wilson, but hey It's the Steelers what do we expect?

Kevin Colbert " We couldn't believe he was still sitting there at 20." DUH! I wonder why?

Unless Tommy Maddox comes back from retirement and gets injured then no, it's not De Ja Vu all over again. Pickett will not start one game this season and will be 3rd on the depth chart. Take that to the bank Ballz Deep in Your A**.

Having said that I wish all our QBs much success.

First and foremost, I want to say on behalf of myself and the other true fans of Steeler Station that we couldn't be happier by our new franchise QB. Welcome to Steeler Nation, KP!

To all the haters expressing pessimism and doubt, please feel free to suck it. At the end of the day, the majority of us well grounded fans realized that Glitch Trubisky was a decent back-up and nothing more. If you feel like he deserved a chance to be a starter in this league, you can always go back and watch his first few seasons as a starter in Chicago prior to him being fired. Those days are gone and the Steelers brass, along with myself and others, had no interest in reliving that. We rejected the idea of Lamar Jackson's half-brother, Marla Willis, as our QB, and in time I'm hopeful that we cut ties with Macy Rudolph so he can start his career in the XFL. I don't care if Jordan Davis would have been on the board. We would have selected KP regardless and understandably so. You're far more likely to win a championship with a good QB than you are with a DT.

The only thing that could have made this any better would have been if KP had a season to learn and grow under Ben, but since that wasn't in the cards, I want to thank Kevin Colbert for making one last good decision before walking out the door. I believe Hunt will be a far inferior and undeserving GM, so I'm glad that we don't have to worry about him botching up the job of finding our next franchise QB.

Now hopefully we can get Sky Moore as our 2nd round pick.

Can you name another Bears starting QB that they parted ways with that went on to find great success elsewhere?

Someone in the past 2 decades would be ideal and a supporting citation would be appreciated. Thanks.
you like the word citation.....

you like the word citation.....
His boyfriend gave him a citation for not holding still while he went balls deep. It effected him mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

I think he is on the road to recovery, or maybe not....

He is going to sit a year and learn from Mitch and it remains to be seen if he is a franchise QB... There are enough 1st round QB busts to show it's not a forgone conclusion he is a franchise guy.

Oh. I see. You must know more than T and Colbert then. That, or you just like spreading your opinion as if it were fact.

This is the new NFL...#20 pick, with what we have in the QB room, ain't gonna be no 3rd stringer...

Yes... And Mitch will win it... Might be a toss up with Pickett and Mason.

Oh eye see. Now he's T and not one of the stupid monikers you've been giving him.

He won't pick up the system fast enough, unless you want a game manager out of the gate.....which is what the other two probably are.

I think these two know a little more than you do....one may be biased(clue: the old guy) but they point out some of the glaring weaknesses that Pickett possesses. Like I said I would have waited till next year.

Cue the " Shannon Sharpe hates the Steelers and Skip is senile!" bunch.......

Yes... And Mitch will win it... Might be a toss up with Pickett and Mason.
Yes .. Good call on your part, Obama. We drafted a QB in the first round because our brass was confident that Mitch was the guy this season. That makes sense.

Derp.
