Law Enforcement official sent Video to NFL in April

If the ****** had just given Rice a stiffer penalty (say 8 games--pre new DV rules), this wouldnt be an issue. I dont know what the big deal is over the footage on the video to begin with
We all knew how the woman got placed horizontal and it wasnt via a sleeper hold. Everyone around America knew she got punched. So the video gets released and we see "the punch". Whats with all the uproar? Is it from the 2 gamer penalty afixed to the now-infamous elevator punch ?

But now the League and Commish look equally incompetent now by issuing this ban when he should fall under the 6-game first time offense ruling. Whats he gonna do about Ray McDonald now ? 6-games or ban ? Hes already lost that round as well.

I believe he will resign as seasons end....................

qUOTED fOR TRUTH. My sentiments exactly.

As much as I hope I'm wrong, Roger will come out clean in all of this. My beggest disappointment is now the Rooney and Mara names are going to be tainted. The investigation is a sham. The special investigator appointed to the investigation has close ties to the NFL and several former NFL execs went to work for the same firm emplyed by the former Director of the FBI.

I seldom do, but I agree with NOW. This is window dressing. It's a sham and people know it's a sham. Rooney and Mara are just going to be seen as covering for the NFL after the report comes back and says the secretarty never forwarded the video.
Rooney didn't do jack about Spygate and that kept his own damn team out of one Super Bowl and maybe two.
The late Sen. Arlen Specter did more about Spygate and he was from Philly.

without it Ray Rice's 2 game suspension would be over this Friday - then back on the field like nothing happened

I'm glad they got outed by TMZ.

That's the part that still puzzles me. The NFL always has treated its players as disposable parts. None are more disposable than running backs. Why in the world didn't Roger see this case (from the beginning) as an opportunity to show how tough he is? To flex his muscle and bring down the hammer on Rice like he has done so many times in the past, basically every time he has had the chance with the one exception of Spygate? With Spygate you can at least understand why Goodell wanted to sweep it under the rug. What the **** is so special about Rice (and the Ravens) that would warrant a gentle touch? The only thing that I see as even a possible answer (and this came from Mark Schlereth) is that Goodell knew he would catch flak for going relatively easy on Jim Irsay so he threw the players a bone in advance of that.

Didn't you hear what Bisciotti said? they all wanted to whitewash this...

"Seeing that video changed everything" so, without it, this would all have been swept under the rug

The Team, The League, they both tried to ignore it.....it's obvious.

oops - TMZ has a video - now the world blows up

Yep, Greenberg made a good point this morning. Their "investigation" is just a stall tactic to buy them some time. And then when asked a question they can say, "Well, we'll know more after the investigation." And if somebody asks how long will it take, they'll say, "As long it takes." And he's right. That's all this is, they want to wait for the public and media to get bored and move on to the next thing to be outraged about.

In the end it just makes it easier to accept the whole thing is bullshit.

Because Rog has his favorites. Who knows how he picks them? I happen to think it's for nothing more than Ray Rice was hyped up as the good guy...a family man...Mr. Charity...the poor kid who made good....whatever warm and fuzzy stories that were attached to him. A model NFL citizen. Making one of the "good guys" look so very bad makes the NFL look bad. Roethlisberger was never all that well liked by anyone but Steelers fans. He was a good one for Rog to make an example of, even though he's never been arrested or charged with a crime.

They wanted to sweep it under the rug, probably like so much other stuff we simply don't know about. This is probably "Tuesday" in the NFL offices. It's just that a tape happened to surface that made things look seriously bad. In the end the NFL, the Owners, and clearly Ray Rice don't give a **** about how Janay Parker (now Janay Rice,) is treated so long as the general public isn't too aware of it.

The moment that changed though... Well ****.

Before that. It was Tuesday...

but but but but Ben raped that gurl. Hollywood Bagger said so. No, not that gurl, the other one. And there was a massive cover-up by every police organization from here to Taiwan, Alabama. Bagger said so.

At society's current rate, the next outrage should be along in a couple days. It's overdue for another gay outrage story.

Spike im talkin about WHATS ON the video. What is contained on that tape that changes what you or anyone else thought "pre-release" ? Was it that we envisioned a jab instead of the uppercut/ ? It happened just the way i envisioned it (before i even seen the tape)

Fire Goodell!

Because, sadly, if the player is a starter or a key contributor to a team, the league, and by that I mean the owners, coaches, commissioner and all the higher ups, they don't give a **** about a man slapping around his woman. They never have.

Goodell burned all the evidence from the Patriots cheating to keep the integrity of the NFL in tact. That spoke volumes to me that instead of righting a wrong and taking accountability for the level of cheating that was occuring, they burned the evidence and trivialized it so that people wouldn't lose money. Same thing here, sweep it under the rug and just move along people. The Shield cannot be stopped. blah blah blah....tired of this ****. Fire that criminal ******.

I dont think the Ravens are on his "favorites" list. I think he was lenient due in part to Rice's fiance pleading with him to be merciful on this transgression. Roger, likely now, regrets that. (imposing the 2-gamer). It was a shift from the normal Roger we all know.

Well that, plus Ray Rice doesn't play for the Steelers.

With our defense that's still doable. Probably tonight. The Brow will smoke Ike Taylor like a cheap cigar. /OT

I hope you're wrong. I hope for once we get pressure on Bert and he crumbles like he is capable of doing.

I hope I'm wrong too but I wouldn't put money on it. The D scares the hell out of me this year.

No the brow will be flustered if there is no running game - he had trouble against Cinci last week....
