My Draft Picks- *1 trade
25. Emeka Egbuka WR Ohio State *trade-icon
52. Tyleik Williams DT Ohio State
83. Savion Williams WR TCU
89. Cobee Bryant CB Kansas *trade-icon
122. Raheim Sanders RB South Carolina
163. Xavier Truss OG Georgia
225. CJ West DT Indiana
238. Tyler Shough QB Louisville
247. Ben Sauls K Pittsburgh
I made one trade here, moving back from 21 to 25 to pick up an extra late 3rd round pick. The top edge rusher had fallen and we had no need for that, and there was value at both wr and Dt at 25.
I went with Egbuka because he has exceptional speed and runs great routes. He isnt the blocking guy jefferson is, but he supposedly isnt bad at it abd is very willing to do so. He is listed as a slot, but is the kind of guy Tomlin will try outside too...
Tyleik Williams seems like the flexible DT type Tomlin likes... id worry about them developing him if they get a new DL coach ... but he should have gone higher than this
Savion Williams is a 6'5" freak athlete. He fills the role in case Pickens gets hurt or forces his way off the team with behavior issues.
Pickens-Egbuka-Williams-Austin-Wilson would give a metric ton of potential at the WR position in all directions.
Cobee Bryant Is a flexible CB who can play man or zone well... he likes to make plays on the ball... solid replacement for The Empty, souless husk of Sutton
Sanders is a Gamble that he will regain his extra step as his injuries fade further in the past... lots of average power rbs available at this slot... he potentially brings speed... I'm banking he gets it back and we get a first round skillset at discount
Truss is a georgia OT that projects as a guard... a solid depth guy with potential and flexibility.
The seventh rounders are all basically high risk/ high reward guys
West has massive flaws but a lot of potential with size and athleticism... correct his high pad issues and you get a playmaking DT who could play NT...
Shough Is a 6'5 mobile pocket passer... if he is there in the seventh, the league really has become too enamored with pure qb running...
i dont love how he reacts to blitz pressure, and he is old... but in the seventh round, who cares?
People would ***** if we spent a throwaway pick on a K, and I think Sauls will be gone by this point, but it makes tons of sense.
Boswell is 34 this season, and only signed through 26.
Sauls is a Big legged kicker who has lots of accuracy over 50 yards and already kicks in Acrisure's insane conditions..
bring him in, see how he stacks up to Boswell. If he seems viable, trade Bos, if he looks good, but you still want to run Bos into tge ground a couple more seasons, trade him to a team needing a K for a seventh... there always is someone looking late in camp... also you can keep him away from the Rats this way...
