Mason is back

im not convinced they dont plan on playing Benton at Left D Tackle this year. But i understand we have holes to fill.

Also is it possible they plan on using Warren and the new guy from Eagles . As rotational Starters?
Benton has been playing out of position at NT, so moving him to DT would be very wise. But then you need a REAL NT to take his place.

WTF? We drafted the guy in the 3rd round, and were told he had a 1st round grade. Tomlin benched him for a guy named Duck, then he only plays in 5 games over the next 4 seasons, we don't even try to keep him, now we bring him back? LOL what a trainwreck.

You know, as you’ve been watching for awhile
Nobody can mismanage a QB room like Mike

Anyone with eyes could see Duck was not an NFL caliber QB…unfortunately Mike lacks the vision of the group “anyone with eyes”

Actually @Steelmann mentioned Rudolph coming back into a Steelers' system which, "for the last 5 years" has been close to the bottom of the league offensively. Arthur Smith has only been here for one of those years, so clearly he wasn't only talking about Smith.
That wasn’t clear. The “system” typically means the offensive system which is Arthur Smith’s offense which he has not ran before.

But that's OK. When Rudolph has to go in for a few games and inevitably fails, you'll have your built-in excuse of his unfamiliarity with Arthur Smith at the ready. Among several others, no doubt.
He will have the same familiarity with the system as any quarterback on the team in 2025. Well, unless we re-sign Kyle Allen I guess.

Edit: looks like Kyle Allen is gone so all will have the same familiarity with the system.

This unnecessary drama is why I don't want Rodgers in Pittsburgh.

The guy has few options. If he wants to play then make a decision. If you don't then ride off to your ayahuasca lodge and get stoned out of your mind.

It's always unnecessary drama with Aaron Rodgers. Maybe he feels slighted that the Steelers didn't hold a parade down Blvd of the Allies in his honor before he signed? Maybe he wanted a key to the city? A street named after him?

Dude is old and has very limited options. It's sad that Pittsburgh made itself one of his only options.
Not trying to get flamed here, but how much drama did we put up with when it came to Ben?

Winning will make everyone forget. If he comes here and if he holds up...and if we win of course. I get it though this not having a QB is making everyone anxious including myself.

At least Mason is back so we know we have a competent backup to whomever gets a seat when the music stops.

He has also proven to be a pretty level headed guy. I doubt drama will be his issue.

He would be fine playing DT in a 4-3. but NT in a 3-4 not ideal. They need to draft a REAL NT, but Clown-lin has always resisted it, always. He is just not comfortable running a true Labeau 3-4. Never was. But Lebeau (other than the Lambert 70's) ran the best D we've EVER fielded, go figure.

Just curious, what drama?

Well, he could be referring to the pre-married Ben, there was tons of drama from sex with the hotel worker in CO, to motorcycle wrecks to supposed rapes in the bathrooms of bars, etc. There was lots of drama in those days....what did his T-shirt says? Champion drinker?

Let those who have not sinned cast the first stones

End the shenanigans now and bring in another vet and either give Rudolph the pole position or have them battle it out. The Rodgers headache and cost (still expecting the Steelers to give him north of $30 million per) is just not worth it. Draft a QB in the 1st or 3rd and go from there. Keep drafting QB's until you get it right.

Rodgers holding the Steelers hostage is not a good look. Tomlin, Kahn, and Rooney all look like fools one way or another for putting the team in this situation. Go 5-12 or 6-11 and get a pick high enough you might be able to get one of the top QB's next year.

- Motorcycle crash
- Two rape allegations
- Complaining about not getting tall receivers
- Broken toes
- Clash with Haley
- Radio spot right before Tomlin’s weekly presser that would force MT to answer uncomfortable questions
- Retirement talk started after 2016

Off the top of my head.

FA is all about player control. The only control the Teams have is how much money they offer a player, and that is controlled by the salary cap and how many other holes you need to fill.

I liken it to my wanting of a new fishing boat. There are some really nice ones for sale out there that I feel should be mine. The problems are that I don't have the money to pay for it as well as buy new tires for my truck and pay taxes on the house while still having money for food each month. I can make an offer on one of those boats but then they either say no or continue to wait and see if they get their price. There are a few out there that I can afford but one has engine problems, one has a trailer with a broken axle, another is not what I really want but would be better than nothing.

It's going to be someone like Mason with Russ QB1 at the start of the season. Rodgers isn't coming here. He's not letting B Jones protect his blind side, lol.

Sure but the Steelers had and still have other options. They shouldn't be waiting for Rodgers to decide. Work with Wilson to bring him and Smith together so they can work together. Bring in other QB's or look to trade for other vets - not 40 year olds but guys 35 or younger. Heck, Will Levis showed some skills but ended up getting benched. What would it take to get him or someone like him in a Steelers uniform. Not saying he's the guy but they need to be constantly working the phones and if they find someone before Rodgers makes a decision, too bad for Rodgers. Pull your offer. This team is not a QB away (unless it's a young guy who develops) from winning anything.

Sitting and waiting is the worst thing they can do as they watch all other potential candidates sign with someone else. They could have. had Daniels. All he wanted was a shot to start again. I mean, why the f... not? They should have been seriously going after him,

You're kidding? We're talking Ben.

The irony was Mason was involved in the last big episode I recall which was Ben not wanting him drafted here then following up by giving him the cold shoulder and not mentoring him at all.

I think the 2 QB’s going for #1 will be Crab Legs and Rudolph. Remember the monster game Jameis had against us last season? They will think he plays like that 99% of the time.

I’m not sure Mr. scared of turnovers would have a heart attack with Crab Legs back there

Sign him up!!!
