Nice write up Justin, thanks

Injury in Jacksonville may be a landing spot for Mason Rudolf. Like the articlwe says the STEELERS don't need to be in a panick to get deal done.

I'm for seeing what Mason has worked into this off-season but am congnigant of where Mason is in the food chain.

Justin reminds us we got a 5th for Dobbs to the Jaguars, I'd think we can get minimum of that but possibly a 4th (need Coach in on these negotiations).

AGAIN, not to big a hurry to trade but would take the capital if there, even as early as it is in the pre-pre-season.

I would trade him tomorrow for a 5th....hell right now for a 4th

Absolutely Coolie, take it NOW if possible before someone else offer a solution to their delema (Jascksonville).

PS. We also play them in Pre-season so if trade happened we could be facing our O'l friend Mason...........................

Kap is still out there for nothing.

Don't even think about bringing him in here!!!

AND

Don't let Jax. sign him in retrospect of trading for Mason.

Or just do a player for player swap, Steelers could use an experienced DE.

This would be excellent should they can get something done. All for it if it can help us in the DL department, I would not bring in any other unit player except DL.

but why would we trade our cemented-in-stone #2 QB? I was told that regardless of who wins the starting role between Trubisky and Pickett, that the other would be the #3 QB behind Mason.

you don't draft a QB in the first round after bringing in another first round draft pick via free agency if you believe you're #2 QB can step into the starting role.

Go to Jacksonville Brucie, Its your time to shine baby!!

Just checking is the pic the "modern day version" of the back up QB for the MEAN MACHINE prison team ? Back up to Adam Sandler (longest yard)

thanks

Despite what some here think of him, Rudolph was consistently ranked in the 6-15 spots as a backup last season… that made him average to above average.

He worked on a quicker release in the off-season . There is no reason to rush into a deal… take him into camp… you protect yourself from injuries at the position with him there… then if Mitch is healthy and holding down QB 1, and Pickett seems ready to be QB 2, and Oladokun looks like a true developmental guy you keep at QB3, sure try to see why Mason brings you back… there isnt much difference if he brings a fifth or sixth, but with a good camp and preseason and a desperate team, you can get a solid mid rounder for a guy with starter experience

I think if Colbert was here, they’d move him to a place he would maybe get a chance to start.. but hopefully Kahn just gets max value

There's no use in posting anything supportive of MR. The Facebook crowd, and I guess many in here unfortunately, have convinced themselves that he is the worst QB to ever take the field.

It is one of the weirder things I've seen in Fandom.

The dude was pretty decent. Got hurt and had a bad stretch. Then after haskins was signed, MR became JaMarcus Russell to 3/4 of steeler fans. I think he can and will be at least a good backup for a long time somewhere.

Im not really all that concerned about the echo chamber in fandoms… sometimes they are right, sometimes they are wrong

Often they magnify a players plusses or minuses to a ridiculous degree… often a guy who is an average starter like Edmunds gets torn to shreds because he isnt a star or conversely hyped up because his story is good like Villanueva did… with Rudolph some hated the pick and to make matters worse, some overvalued Duck Hodges, and it created the perfestorm to devalue the player.

I shudder to think what will happen if Pickett becomes the solid starter that we expect and one of those low percentage bum picks beneath him this year has a good season or if Chris O turns into something

The wailing and gnashing of teeth will be biblical lol

But it shouldn’t matter what the loudest voices say.. post your opinion, stand by it, stick up for it… listen to others opinions with an open mind….admit you are wrong when you are, dont be too much of a dick when you are right, and, for the most part ignore the message board rabble lol…

Yeah, so trade him to some other team at let them pay him $5 million a year to be "at least a good backup." The Steelers have already acquired two guys who can easily meet your rather low expectation...they don't need to keep three.
