Mason O'h Mason could he bring GOLD

Then there is that Lion performance. What was his excuse for that monstrosity?
I totally disagree with this as well. The defense played like ****. We put the rock on the ground. He didn't know he was starting until late the night before and the game plan was set for Ben. Detroit played a lot of teams tough from that point out. Yet i other players hold on to the damn ball we win that game.

Ben's game plan is always the go-to excuse for Mason in this game. Rudolph practiced with the first team virtually the entire week. What exactly was so complicated about Ben's game plan last year? Get the ball out as fast as possible as short as possible. It doesn't excuse his lack of accuracy or throwing guys open, especially against the worst team in the league.

You certainly are annoyingly optimistic! :)

Mason was so bad, even the fans bought into Duck Hodges. There are still little rubber duckies wedged into the banks of the Mon, i'm sure.

You mean there's two ?????

unfortunately. they have a collective of 2 brain cells. Bermuda has one and a half. the other guy has 1/2.

Actually Masons stats that year ben went down were above the mean for a first year starter… he had two bad games, both post concussion, that brought his numbers down from great to good

People hyperventilated because that was the first year Fitchner installed the new offense… he ran the Haley one the year before so the sudden drop in ypa and passing yardage made people blame Rudolph instead of tge real culprit

It didn’t help that Hodges was a cult hero and people thought his real noodle arm was somehow better than Rudolph’s because typical fans deal in emotion rather than facts…

Rudolph is on par with a lot of low end starters in the league. He isn’t talent deficient nor has he shown himself to be anything special…

Kaboly and a few others have said he looks tge best out of the threetop qbs right now… that bodes ill forctge Steelers because while it would be funny to watch him win tge starter role and be successful and hear the moans of the yinzer collective, it really kneecaps the Steelers next year…

If he does great it puts you in a bind as he is a ufa next year and its too expensive to franchise a guy with a single year of production at that position… you basically have to let him walk… Trubisky won’t be here if he doesn’t win the starter job, so you end up with the Chargers scenario with Brees and Rivers… its far better if Trubisky wins the starter role but Rudolph pushes him so they can trade Rudolph and still have control on Trubisky next year as a failsafe

Kaboly likes to stir the pot. Not many straight shooting reporters anymore, they all like to generate attention.

Exactly. I believe little outside of training camp. As most of their opinions seem to be vastly different and a lot of them are just to generate clicks.

That's why I saud we need our one and only Coach invovld, he'd get us the best deal ever...................................

He's worth fool's gold. I'd be happy for a 5th round pick for him. If this were sandlot football it would be you take Mason on your team and we'll spot you two touchdowns.

So how much gold do you have?

If Mason is traded he will "net" either a 4th or a 5th and the STEELERS will dang well take that. Josh Dobbs brought a 5th from Jacksonvill and I'd think Rudolf is all of as good (better) than Dobbs.

Could you see it fit to negotiate with a NFL Team to secure more ???

Apparently the Steelers would be happy with that return as well.

I' not sure they would bite this early. I'd think closer or durring Training Camp then they would bite but first put word out to see what market value may provide. If no takers then be patient as a team may have injury similar to Jacksonville's plight. I'sd think they are in line to make a play and soon.

Fillipponi talks out of his *** alot, but Id buy this… like I said if they were smart they would wait until the preseason gets goiing and teams lose a qb or two… that also covers the Steelers in case of injury

I think mason is damaged goods and disgruntled. He took a swipe at ben, doesn't seem to be doing the team bonding exercises etc etc....I would take what you can get and move on. If we have an injury that would definitely suck, but the show would go on

Ben's game plan sucked. That's the whole point.

Look, Rudolph may end up not being any good, I understand that. I think basing off of the **** show that has been the offense for a while is unfair to the kid. That's all.

It was terrible but also relatively easy to execute, plus Rudolph's issues weren't with the game plan, it was basic placement of his passes and feel for the pocket.

Sullivan has stated that Mason has worked durring the off-season on getting a qwicker release. In order to do that he had to speed his reads up as well. Sullivan said he has increased his realease VERY well and it's a strength.

I still say Trubisky will get the start, Mason will be showcased in pre-season in hopes to trade. Pickett will learn ping ball while he waits................

The Steelers are putting in too much effort for the third-string special teams linebacker they want to select with the future 5th they get from trading Rudolph. Invest in the future in give Pickett the reps.

If it had been easy to execute it wouldn't have been terrible. If it's easy to execute, well then, the Steelers should've been great offensively.

Again, I'm not saying this because I think Rudolph will be something. I don't know. I'd just like to see him in something other than what we have seen since 2019.

I was surfing around looking at stats and came across this site https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2021/passing_advanced.htm. I was looking at intended air yards / attempt and air yards / completion. We were ranked 32nd in both categories last year. In 2019 w/ Rudolph we were ranked 17th in attempted air yards and dead last in completed air yards. In 2020 with Ben we were ranked 28th in attempted air yards and 33rd out of 35 qualified passers in completed air yards. There is a definite trend that doesnt all fall on the QBs.

On a side note if you look at the accuracy tab it has bad throw % and on target %. Looking at these numbers Burrow had less than 11% bad throws and on target % of almost 83% last year some impressive numbers.
