Minkah Fitzpatrick - Worth a high pick?

The people crying about it being a high pick can jump off the bandwagon and get ******! Not throwing in the towel now. Fitzpatrick is here for 4 years at a combined cost of 5.85 million. Great DBs cost tons. Let's ******* go. No time for all the whiney *******.

Talk to me next March chief and see how you are feelong then. Christ this is a ridiculous move. How does this organization continually get worked.

Sorry bammer homer, but we all know that the chances of a Bama qb becoming a legitimate premier pro qb are very small

Dude isn't like anyone who's ever played QB at Bama. I guess by your logic, the Dolphins should just ignore his gaudy stats and not draft him because of the college he attended. SMH.

Full terms of the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade:

#Dolphins traded CB Minkah Fitzpatrick, a 4th rounder in 2020 and a 7th rounder in 2021
#Steelers traded a 1st rounder in 2020, a 5th rounder in 2020 and a 6th rounder in 2021

That's even better. They turned a 5th into a 4th rounder which is pretty significant. You can still get possible starters in the 4th but it gets dicey in the 5th.

Minkah can play LB, FS, SS, CB.....he's the Swiss Army Knife that every team is looking for to add to their secondary and now he's a Steeler. This bodes very well for our secondary and he will play dividends immediately! He's a gifted athelete and probably the best DB at covering any WR in the slot in the NFL.

Can he do it all at the same time? Cause we still have holes in the secondary. This fixes one position.

Haden, Nelson, Fitzpatrick pretty much locks up the top three receivers in a game allowing some help against the TE or 4th Receiver. I know many don't like Edmunds but he had some great coverage last night along with some mistakes. He IS getting better and shows potential.

Just because some of us dislike the trade doesn't make anyone less of a fan for ***** sake. I don't think he's worth it, does that mean I have to turn my ******* terrible towel in? Newsflash I thought we were going to lose week 1, I guess I'm not a fan.

See my post above. I think you are wrong about the secondary. The slot coverage was our weak link this might have just fixed that. Would have been nice to have against NE.

For those who've never seen him play trust me when I say we just got the best DB we've had since Troy Polamalu. Minkah is a shut down DB. Think Revis but more versatile, he will be a great asset to our Defense for a long time to come! This is only his 2nd year! We have him for at least 3 more seasons after this season!

This was last weeks move, lol
Are we one player away on defense?
Can he score 30 pts, can he play QB?

Dont drop that basket with all the eggs Mason!

gaudy stats are a dime a dozen these days. I am skeptical of all these college QBs that rely on running. It basically means that in college, they never see a real pass defense, especially if they are on a top team.

What running QB has really been great in the NFL? Cam Newton had 1 big year but got shut down in the SB when he met a top defense.

Nobody had more talent that Vick and he was inconsistent most of his career,

When i watch Tua, I see a lot of throws to wide open guys. That always gives me pause when evaluating a QB.

I've seen him play. I'm not impressed with what he's shown in the NFL, sorry. I hope he proves me wrong.. I just don't see this making a difference.

Lol, outside of Fitz we don’t have any true SS either.

but you do get my point right? Edmunds might become a decent SS, we still don't have anyone with that ceiling at FS

question: is he really a SS or was he being played out of position, as he contends?

Is he going to request another trade then if we don't win games?

sure, you've watched him play just as much as coach has seen Ed Oliver play....

I just read this on nfl.com...

"The big-time potential for Fitzpatrick to excel on a team known for their strong defenses is undeniable. He was one of seven rookies last year with 80+ total tackles and 2+ interceptions, per NFL research"

Known for their strong defense? How many decades does their defense have to suck before this misconception goes away?

I know you Alabama lovers have a big chubby here but lets get real. You are pinning everything on a second year QB with two quarters of experience. I know the dick swagger roles like the Tide, but statistically you are FAR more likely to be giving up a top 10 possibly a top 5 in this spot. .

Don't worry, you can count on the coaching staff to put him in the right place on defense.
