Minkah Fitzpatrick - Worth a high pick?

How about you blame Coach LeBeau for that??? He brought the 3-4 defense to the Steelers - the game evolved...

LeBeau was the father of the zone blitz defense, rarely if ever did we line up a LB one on one vs a WR. That has Cool Shades signature all over it.

Or maybe a top 5 or even top 3

or dare I say even the #1 overall pick?

Clearly the Steelers just put ALL their eggs in the Mason Rudolph basket

I don't think so at all. Big Ben will be back next year and should be fine with such a long time to rehab.

I don't see any college QB that impresses me yet. Not a draft eligible one anyway. I like Trevor Lawrence but he's not eligible until the 2021 draft.

I'd say the steelers chances of taking a QB next year in the 1st were close to 0 anyway. They'd probably be looking for a DB and as i already said, I don't trust the steelers to draft a DB.

What this maybe costs the steelers a pass rusher or a top WR. Those are the likely top needs. WR is obvious and if Dupree keeps going this way then they still need a bookend for Watt. I'd like to keep Dupree if they can sign him to a reasonable deal to be a rotational guy.

WR is so deep now in these drafts with so many college teams passing and spreading with multiple WRs. You can easily get a very good WR in round 2 as evidenced by JuJu. And WR is one position I do trust the steelers drafting.

most likely Kameron Kelly

I actually think Kam Kelly is a good open field tackler and worth a roster spot. Not really a Sean Davis fan or a Terrell Edmunds fan either....their lack of a simple fundamental ability to tackle the ball carrier makes it hard to like either one.

just heard about the trade on the LatinAmerican MNF broadcast and came right here in a milisecond

For top 10-15 talent in last year's draft who already has a year of seasoning. Would you prefer the Steelers draft and try to develop a defensive back?
I'd prefer maybe they draft an elite WR or pass rusher.
Just because he was a top 10-15 doesn't mean he's that good.

#Steelers recently acquired a 2020 5th round pick for Joshua Dobbs, and a 2021 6th round pick for Jerald Hawkins.

They also will receive a 2020 3rd round pick for Bell leaving. Steelers not leaving the cabinet dry.

for what it's worth.......

So thats 6 years in a row we spend a #1 pick on defense and we still give up 30 pts and 400 yds a game, lol

Oh well we just have to trust Miami is a better talent evaluator than we are and he's worth it

I know some people are bitching about signing Minkah Fitzpatrick and giving up our 2020 First Rounder but Minkah Fitzpatrick is a player who excels at covering WR's who line up in the slot. Having a DB who can excel at that is something all teams are looking for since the NFL is now a pass first offense and typically there are at least 3 WR's on the field at a minimum on any given play. We just boosted our Defense tremendously with a very special player who can absolutely send any offense into a tailspin sputtering to move the football. I like this signing....I think this is one of the best moves the Steelers have ever made from a personnel standpoint!

WELCOME TO THE BURGH MINKAH!

The people crying about it being a high pick can jump off the bandwagon and get ******! Not throwing in the towel now. Fitzpatrick is here for 4 years at a combined cost of 5.85 million. Great DBs cost tons. Let's ******* go. No time for all the whiney *******.

#Steelers will need to make a roster move once the Fitzpatrick trade becomes official on Tuesday. You'd have to believe Jordan Dangerfield is the odd man out.

thing is, Fitzpatrick is a SS / slot CB. Now we have 5 SS in the roster, no true FS

I agree 100%. He'll prove to be the best DB we've had since Troy.

Lol, outside of Fitz we don’t have any true SS either.

Minkah can play LB, FS, SS, CB.....he's the Swiss Army Knife that every team is looking for to add to their secondary and now he's a Steeler. This bodes very well for our secondary and he will pay dividends immediately! He's a gifted athelete and probably the best DB at covering any WR in the slot in the NFL.

Looks like he is a high character guy too. He waited atleast one game to ask for a trade, we better win football games..

They are 0-2 and starting a Rookie QB for 14 weeks. They don't tackle well, They have a ****** nimrod for a HC. Id say that pick was more likely top 10 than 15 or lower. Thats a Browns move all day.

no, the browns would have thrown in the towel and given up on the season like it appears a **** load of y'all would have preferred. **** that loser ****.
