MNF

Jesus, he had Ladanian Tomlinson, Antonio Gates, Keenan McCardell and Vincent Jackson.
Tomlinson was a RB. I already listed Gates and Jackson so I am not sure why you are repeating them. McCardell played one over the hill year with Rivers at 36 with 437 yards so I don’t understand why you would list him. I guess you couldn’t find anyone but you decided to reply anyways to help prove me right.

Thank you.

Your quest to always be right is just ridiculous.

A great RB that can do it all is going to be included in a QBs weapons.

Good Lord, Ford, stop embarrassing yourself and bow out of this thread before its too late!!

I think it’s important that someone keeps this board in check. I understand the propensity to think the team and players of your team are better than they are. But with all things in life you have to take a step back and view things from a different perspective. Roethlisberger was a great QB but does anyone think of Rivers and Roethlisberger were flopped to their prospective teams that the other team would have had more or less success. I think the teams would have been about the same in terms of success. Roethlisberger had the better teams thus won more games and won championships. He will always get the nod over guys who didn’t because of that. But I don’t think he wins any super bowls if he was a charger. Sorry if people can’t handle that.

He won't, that Rudy thread shows you this guy will keep on with his nonsense to the level of the Energizer Bunny. It will go on and on and on.

You keep this board in check?

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Yep another cooch. No doubt in my mind.

Good for you, keeping this board in check and making us sheeples see the light.

Roethlisberger had something VERY few QBs have / had. It’s the ability to raise fellow teammates up. Nearly every player from Ben’s era, when they left did nothing.

That factor trait is why your statement is bogus. But one thing is for sure, I’m glad to know I am “in check” and ready to actually participate on this board.

PS. If one cannot see that trait of Ben Roethlisberger and making those around him better,
then they must get their eyes “CHECK-ed”

Ford, no response is necessary as I could probably write it for you and be pretty accurate at that.

Ben holds the record for most 500yrd passing games. The Chragers offense was on par with ours. Ben got killed in our offense along with extending plays that no other QB could do. Put Rivers in that offense and he might not have survived the hits or been able to shake the guys off.

it's not that people "can't handle it", it's that they consider it to be nonsense, which it is.

61% Picked Rivers. But I am sure they were all Chargers fans. ;)

What I am saying is it isn't as cut and dry as it would be on this board. I expect the majority to pick Ben. Hell, I would pick Ben. But I recognize my own homerism. I am going to pick my guy. But you can't see the forest from the tree. I can step back and look at the argument for Rivers and there is a solid argument. He had less talented offensive weapons, less talented offensive lines, and less talented defenses. Stat line is pretty similar. Ben had 64.4% 64,088 yards 7.6 y/a 418/211 to Rivers 64.9% 63,440 7.8 y/a 421/209. Considering Rivers played 5 less games I would give Rivers a slight nod on stats but not a major difference. So at the end of the day I would say the playoff stats and record would trump Rivers.

Actually it is "can't see the forest for the trees", is the expression you were trying to hunt for.

Metaphors aren't for you, better you stay clear of them and quotes.

Must become big arse tree that's preventing you from seeing the forest, it is either that or your tunnel vision.

How do you know no other QB could do it?

🤔

I think that tree is blocking my view, you know the one that isn't in the forrest.

Can we get the tree trunk dimensions?

For research purposes..

There weren't many votes in that poll. Also, a lot of football fans hate Roethlisberger the person and would take any other QB over him in a poll. For instance, I'd vote against Aaron Rodgers in a poll even if I thought he was better than another QB just because I don't like the guy.

I’m a statics guy so a sample size like that has a margin of error of probably 5%.

Based on watching games and listening to NFL players say Ben was the hardest QB to bring down. Josh Allen may be the closest currently

You need to turn that into a statistic in order for him to comprehend what you are saying.

OR

Some kind of tree scenario that involves horizons and vision.

Oh **** you obviously aren't seeing that singular tree from the forrest.

But how do you know? You are comparing Ben who in the beginning of his career held the ball longer than any QB to Rivers who always had a low snap to throw time.

What I love about this argument is that I have said multiple times that I think Ben is better than Rivers. But, I can see the claim or argument one might make for Rivers. That is all I am saying. But some of the people on this board are so rigid in their beliefs that they can't even fathom the thought of someone disagreeing with them. And this is the root problem with so many on this board.
