MSN takes no prisoners with Tomlin

Ego dictates that he passes Lambeau and Landry as the longest tenured NFL coach ever.
And an untouchable record for consecutive Tomlinships, playoff wins be damned.

I like to point out to the Tomlin Fanbois that the year after HE won a Super Bowl, Coach Cool Shades went 9-7 and missed the playoffs so he is clearly awesomely more awesomer than Bill Cowher because he won ONE more game.

Ben bounced his mellon off of a car as well.

No excuses. That was a sucky .500 team that the black coach thru sheer brilliance got to a Super Bowl win in only two years and QBR. /Tomlin Fan Club

Honestly, this is the least interested I can remember being when it comes to free agency and the draft.

I've seen virtually no Steelers related podcasts or articles over the past month, and I'm usually all over that **** this time of year when it comes to seeing how the team could be constructed for the upcoming season.

I've been leaning that way for awhile, but I think this past season, with no major changes being made to the coaching staff afterwards, finally broke me.

It's hard to care much knowing a firm ceiling has been established over the past 15 years in terms of what the Steelers can accomplish with Tomlin as coach, with the ownership being at best too conservative, or at worst, too arrogant and cheap, to make a change.

Rooney will definitely not be making a move before 2028, regardless of how the next few years go.

The guy is regularly criticized for what he spends on the team facilities. Does anyone really expect him to pay Tomlin $16 mil/year to work in TV or coach another team?

One may as well just re-watch games from the last several seasons at this point. It's all the same **** we'll be seeing next season or the season after that.

Yep...this....

I am actually tired of bitching about the same thing year after year.....for years now.

I can live in my fears if i want to, because i dont run around saying i dont. I can Imagine our team throws over the middle to a giant from Georgia,, or to a great route guy from PSU. Without knowing what i know, i can use a 31 personell offense and block the **** out of people, or surprise them with a pass to this giant who they cant cover. In the 31 i use my fast running back who hits holes hard, because he is good, Not because he is a first round pick who i picked when i shouldnt have because i didnt really have that luxury.
I think you mean to say 13 personnel.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. It's hard to get truly excited about the Steelers these days, when we all have seen the same movie, starring Mike Tomlin, over and over again.

It's like a bad marriage. You just take up other things to fill the time, and to be apart from the other spouse, hoping that they change enough for you to be involved again. You check back in, hang out a bit in hopes that there is a chance for getting along, but it's not happening just like you knew it wouldn't.

I love my Steelers. I miss them. They just aren't there for me anymore.

I feel like Taylor Swift could write a good break up song about this.

Me too.

It's not really a matter of being a "bandwagon" fan or whatever.

It's just a general frustration over knowing what to expect after seeing the same results for well over a decade now, with no real reason to believe anything will change anytime soon.

We knew Tomlin wasn't going anywhere, but for him to claim after the season that changes will be made while the likes of Teryl Austin and Pat Meyer end up keeping their jobs is a complete joke.

As I've said before, I'm not even really angry toward Tomlin anymore, as Rooney is clearly the problem at this point.

For him to claim after the 2023 season that the performance of the team has not been acceptable only to give Tomlin a three year extension before last season even started suggests he's perfectly fine with this ****.

Either that or Tomlin has some photos or videos of Rooney that, if revealed, would lock Rooney up for the rest of his life.

You’re no bandwagon fan.
The correct term there would be “closet Steeler fan”…they come out only when their team is doing well.
No crime in that imo, to each their own. They still remain loyal.

Now bandwagon fans are despicable . They jump from team to team becoming fans of whoever is on top.
I wonder how many temporary new fans Philly made.

I don't have any issue showing support through down times, but at some point, enough is enough.

We've seen the same mediocre performance from Tomlin's teams for too long to reasonably expect anything different.

I was foolish enough to ignore the last decade of history by getting a little bit excited with the team's 9-2 start this past season, but should have known better.

I'll still root for the Steelers and casually follow what's going on this off-season, but things have become way too tedious and predictable with them to be as emotionally invested as I once was.

Bitching about Bitching…………. Been happening to long. This once great Franchise can ONLY hold that enevitable loss of fandom $$$ for so long. I’m huge in Fandom Maniac, but I have wavered dramatically. A little here a fan there, sometime there will be enough non-$$$$$$$ to wake some one up.

I use to buy Steelers everything all the time, I quit that a long time ago. My biggest spend was buying a $43.00 antenna at
walmart (just a couple months ago), set it up so I could get the local channels. I now get CBS / NBC / ABC / Fox all in hopes of catching a Steelers game. I spend nothing on extra Steelers anything.

ADD it up from me to the many a many more in the same boat, eventually it will make an impact.

I am right there with you on the $$$$$. I caved the other year when we played the Raiders on xmas eve. Brother is a huge Raider's fan so we got tickets and went. Usual year I buy........... nothing but a contribution here.

No, because it's not about how well we are doing. It's about the hope that we won't repeat the same nonsense over and over and over again. Even going with 2020 when we were lucky to get to 12-4, everyone knew going into that playoff game that we had no shot. 9-7-1, 9-8, 10-7, 10-7...mediocrity with NO signs of changing. If you know the outcome, how to you maintain your interest? There has to be a reason to tune it. It doesn't have to be wins, but it DOES need to be change. Doesn't make him a closet fan, makes him a frustrated fan.

Exactly why after the playoff loss, I posted that it sucks being a Steelers fan right now, how Tomlin has sucked all the joy that use to come with being a Steelers fan, the draft isn't as exciting anymore, being excited for the post season hasn't been there for a while now.
I think Ben masked more of this than any of us thought, seeing how conservative on offense he is, then how predictable we have been on defense. Ben kept AB happy not Tomlin, everyone credits Tomlin with that, but when Landry had to play only 3 or 4 games in 15 or 16 or whatever year that was, AB was already bitching about not seeing the ball enough after a win, so Ben kept AB more so than Tomlin. No wonder Ben had so many 4th qtr comebacks, they'd play conservative until late in alot of games.
