"Najee Harris ain't it". NAJEE 3.0 It's time to go, yo....

Great. Fantastic. I like Najee and want him to be a star. But what is the point of keeping him here. He has been 100% consistent every year. Down to about a 150 yards between his very best season and his worst. Is he going to be a star here? That is the question.
Only here would people complain about a RB getting 1000 yards in his first four years(1 of only 13 ever)....in an era that is the most pass first ever. Is Harris a Barry Sander? Nope. I can see him getting well over 4 yards a carry and easily 1200 to 1400 yards per season in the right system....welll actually probably any other system than ours. Will he though. Time will tell. He has been durable throughout his career. Plays hurt. And never fumbles.

So now we will spend possibly a high draft pick on another RB. How will he fair if our system doesn't change? Running into stacked boxes all the time. Where our offense will not audible out of the run. Where we limit our QBs and defenses take advantage of those limitations weekly.......where our OL play is "below the line".

I wish Harris well. I am sure he would have loved to have had his 5th year option picked up but it probably was better for his career that they didn't.

I'm done arguing with the haters. The world will still spin and nothing ever really makes them happy.

Facts just muddy the water...

Well I’m getting a kick out of all this!

It’s the cycle of grievances.

First and foremost it’s Tomlins fault, next time it’s about having XYZ players that s u c k, next time it will be the scheme that’s the problem, next time it’s the coordinators, then it will be Rooney that’s the problem, then it’s back to being all Tomlins fault!

If only Tomlin had not refused to “coach up” Harris. Lol

Don’t yinz get me wrong! This isn’t a critique. Opinions are what a message board is all about. I just happen to find humor in a lot of things.

Not sure how high of a pick they will throw at the position. They arguably have greater needs. Plus a rookie might only be a rotational with Warren getting carries.

Statistically he didn’t seem explosive. I think they just are hoping for an upgrade.

You can’t improve if you are stuck in neutral.

Not sure fans are complaining for the most part they just want improvement. That is one area on offense that arguably could do better.

Not sure we can call RB a strength on the O and it needs to be…

to be fair, the market for RBs have been down for years. nobody paid that much for them.

Najee projected market value 9.1-ish mil

3yr l deal 27.5 mil.

Salute the nation

You cannot pay for how someone will play in another system or for another coach. You pay for yards and TDs. If you draft someone very promising in the 3rd you have freed up 6 or 7 million dollars a year for 3 years to be spent elsewhere. And running back is the easiest position to translate to pro game from college. So if you can get an extra 200 yards from Warren and the rookie can gain 6 or 7 hundred with a 3.8-4 yard Ave you are down nothing really and pocket 5-7 million per.

I like Najee but he doesn't fit the scheme they are running. He doesn't have the vision or quick burst to be good in the zone read they are trying to run. I don't even think we have a bad line, I think we now have the players but need to see them in the right spots and healthy. WE need a back with vision and burst for this scheme. Najee will make us feel regret if he leaves but only because he will get used more aptly for his skill set.

To me the biggest dissapointment of this offense and the biggest misuse of talent is not throwing the ball to the back more. Especially, with Najee it was like the last read in the progression. Often the LB that he was assigned to was in act of making the tackle while ball was in flight. In my opinion about a third of the pass plays should have been designed to put the back in space one on one with a two way go. A little more then a third to the ****** wideout room and rest to TE's. I think they would have had a far more complete offense with that strategy. 🤔

Isn't that a fault of management for even drafting him? Drafting a player that doesn't fit into what you want to do. That said.....I don't think many other players would fair that much better in our scheme....and play calling.

Meh. Harris for $6.7 million is chump change in this league. We are paying Heyward $15 mill plus. What does Fitzpatrick get? Highsmith? Watt's last quarter of the season was putrid. Hell. Tomlin makes all but $20 mill a year.

So you want Warren as our featured RB? Hope he can hold up to the pounding of running into stacked boxes next year.

Any time you move on from a 1st round pick after 4 years is a loss for the organization. Now they will spend a high pick to replace Harris who despite what a large portion on this site think was not the issue on our team. Dude played every game. Tried to be that leader in the lockerroom we desperately need but was shot down by the HC. Actually laughed at by the HC for it. Never fumbles. Thousand yard seasons. Now..we will take a pick from any other area of need. And we have many. When a mere $6 mill plus he would still be here for another year.

I doubt we will have a RB put up a 1000 yards for the next 4 seasons behind this OL.and scheme and our play calling.

We have a unique combination of a 💩 HC
That hires 💩 coordinators and position coaches
Has 💩 player evaluation and deployment

Which leads to 💩 drafts when the 💩 HC is allowed to overdraft average-💩 prospects

These are the 💩 components of the Steelers

And a couple misused great players that have had their careers wasted in the dumpster that is Tomlin’s team. Sorry to the talented guys like Cam, TJ and GP that are stuck in the **** show having their talents wasted.

Meh......why do they stay? All but Pickens are on 2nd or 3rd contracts. If Pickens is lucky they won't tag him. If he is smart he will opt for Free Agency if the Steelers brass approach him on an extension. While many don't like Harris....he was lucky the Steelers didn't pick his option up. Sorry.... nope. No one bent their finger to sign onto this crap show.
