YouTube has announced its pricing for NFL Sunday Ticket:
YouTube TV subscribers:
• $349/season ($249 if you purchase before June 6)
• $389 ($289 early) if you bundle with RedZone
Non-YouTube TV subscribers:
• $449/season ($349 early)
• $489 ($389 early) with RedZone

This is what I thought would end up happening. The NFL could have made so much more money by opening this up to multiple providers and lowering the end cost to say $199 or even $249. They would have gained a much larger customer base and way more end purchasers. The revenue would have been substantially higher. This will only continue the mass exodus of customers away from the Sunday Ticket. They went for that big single contract instead of looking at the big picture. YouTube will bleed customers and either lower the cost or take the loss. I just see no way they will gain customers when this is an increase in price over what most felt was already way overpriced. I will look to go back to other ways to watch the games like I used to.

There's an option to get it without the "TV" service, but the Sunday Ticket won't get the game if it's broadcast locally. That sucks.

I told them years ago the only way I'd be back is if they offered options to purchase individual games or a team package. I'm not paying $400 a year to watch a handful of the Steelers games that aren't nationally televised.

I’m fortunate to live in the Pittsburgh market, but I’m thinking only a handful ARE nationally televised. If you live near Cleveland, Cincinnati or Baltimore, you likely see non-nationally televised Steelers games when they’re not playing at the same time and network as those teams.

Not as much this year. We had been getting the Steelers over the Browns in Cincinnati and also even getting the Steelers out of Dayton when the Bengals had a home game on a double header day when for some stupid reason we lose one of those games in Cincinnati.

DirectTV gave me the ticket free the last 4 years, no idea why, but I wasn't about to complain.

Like many no longer living in their home state, I don't care about the other 31 teams. Sell me a reasonable single team package and I'm in, otherwise I'll be looking for ideas suggested here.

How much of a delay will there be since the games now will be streamed? Most cases the delay is long enough that you can get updates faster on your phone.

YouTube is awesome. I love the abrupt ads that start playing mid-sentence while trying to watch a video.

Can't wait for a big 4th down play, ball is in the air.........and i'm seeing somebody tell me to rub Lume in my butt crack so i won't stink.

Get a firestick or android tv box. Learn about IPTV and VPNs. Save $$$
IPTV seems to be the way to go. Some of these things have 16,000 channels...for 25 bucks a month.

Plus, you get MLB, NBA, NHL and PPV with most packages.
Just make sure you get a VPN subscription also. Your cable company likes that you have their internet package. But, they will not like you using it to bypass their "regional" censorship of what you can view.
*Also, there are bunches of youtube channels, etc. that show you how to set your device up.

I've been looking into it over the past few days. I already have Bitdefender VPN. DirectTV gave me a $200 gift card to stay (with no commitment), so I'm just waiting on receipt of that before I make the switch. Thanks for the advice.

Don’t worry tape,……………. it’s no guarantee.

I hear yaz fully clear on the YouTube.

Salute the nation

As someone that subscribed for years way back when I absolutely will not be going back unless there are: 1) single games; 2) team package; and 3) more reasonable prices. Even with a team package, decent teams will also see 3-5 games on national broadcast and at least a couple (if not more) games available in out-of-market locations.

Even with that hardline position I have never had to miss a Steelers game that I didn't want/need to miss (i.e., family and real life stuff).

I already use ExpressVPN on my devices. I just need some of the best IPTV options DM'd to me.

That is not a bug, that is a feature!

I have a feeling these firestick and IPTV options won’t work anymore. Youtube has international versions. I’m thinking you won’t be able to vpn yourself to England to get a feed. YouTube will also likely be far more aggressive and tech savvy to shut down workaround and pirate links.

Very possible. I still think, in the end, they will be forced to slash prices. My guess is they get nowhere near the sign-ups they may have been anticipating in year one. They will lose more in years 2 and 3. By then, they will be scrambling and the price will come tumbling down.

We shall see. On a side note, you don't use your VPN to find a feed. The IPTV provider provides the feed. Usually through local broadcasts and/or some technical "robin hooding" of the individual feed signals. You use the VPN to keep others from seeing what's coming in on your end, at your location. The VPN makes it seem as if your signal is received at a different location than your home.
What I'm saying is that the feeds come from local CBS/Fox/etc., not Directtv, Youtube or any NFL Sunday Ticket provider. In fact, many of the better IPTV providers offer a package that allows you to watch local channels from across the U.S.

If anyone can recommend a reputable, reliable IPTV, I'm all ears...and eyes. TIA.
