  • Jones is going to be a good NFL OT, RT at worst. In fact, I think he beats out Okarafor. Then a guy I am beginning to believe will make the offense really, REALLY difficult to defend. Washington is just massive and a superb run blocker. Oh, and he has really good hands. His college production was stymied because Georgia has another TE who is even a better receiver, Brock Bowers. The new OL, Harris, Pickens, Freiermuth, Washington in the red zone? Yes, please. Then Mazi gives the team a rock in the middle of the defensive line, Campbell a very productive ILB who is quick enough to play decent zone. Harrison has more tools than Ace Hardware, no idea why not more productive at THE Ohio State. Last two guys are projects though Fehoko is a talented edge guy.

Double clap of applause !!!

I would strip down to my newest lighted STEELERS Christmas stocking hat and just flip-flop sandles, up here in 20 degree weather,……. Then run outside waving and hollering with a 12 ga. Pump shot or 5 into the air. I’d have to have 2-see through G-strings for support though.

In case you can’t decipher the happy camp, one can only dream of either draft.

Double clap ...

I hate when that happens.

I may have found the cause, however.

I don't know. I just don't know. I think I like this one. Witherspoon can be our CB1 of the future. Jones can bump Chuks down and/or out. Bresee was too hard to pass up at 49 when many originally had him as a top-10 talent. Mazi fills our NT need. Mingo is a big slot guy with some speed who runs good routes. And, then some developmental pieces in the 7th. The first 5 picks legitimately could play significant snaps this season.

  • 17.

No way Carter falls this far but if he does, you have to take him. Don't you? Jones can immediately bump Chuks to swing tackle. I don't see Banks or JMS falling that far but if they do, run to the podium. McDonald is a good OLB prospect who they went to see. The 7th round is are just flyers but you never know since they are at areas we need depth. I would be pretty darn happy with this draft.

I think you need to consider strengthening the dl, we need some help there. Wink

Changed it up from the PFF to the PFN simulator. I should've just drafted all Buckeyes.

1.17 Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State
-It wasn't a great draft board, so I went in a different direction. He didn't really play last year, but had a terrific 2021. He is a guy who will always give Kenny an open target. I want my young QB set up for success.

2.32 Dawand Jones, OT, Ohio State
-Massive right tackle who will compete for a job year one.

2.49 Jack Campbell, ILB, Iowa
-I hope the draft falls like the PFN board. Campbell at 49 is a steal.

3.80 Mazi Smith, IDL, Michigan
-Smith right here is great. Getting the big body to clog up the middle.

4.120 Zach Harrison, EDGE, Ohio State
-Depth player and the best available.

7.234 Nick Herbig, EDGE, Wisconsin
-A bit undersized but has potential as a pass rusher. You can never have enough of these guys.

7.241 Byron Young, IDL, Alabama
-Another depth piece for the defensive line.

JSN scares me at 17. He like fell off a cliff with production and injuries. I realize he had a phenomenal year before that. But I do have some questions... He seems like the type that could fall to 32..

I think he basically decided to sit out the year to prep for the NFL. He's not a burner, but is so good in other areas of his game and while he may fall, there was nothing good on this draft board in terms of using the 17th pick. He was the best available so I went with him.

  • Get an elite edge rusher who is big enough to take on and beat LT's, arguably the best TE in the draft and a guy who immediately improves the running game with his blocking, a very talented ILB who can run and cover, a legit C prospect to upgrade the OL, a very gifted CB who is big enough to take on Chase and Cooper and is quite good at zone and when giving receivers a bit of a cushion, a developmental QB and the BPA with the last pick.

  • Yeah, no upgrade at OT or DL. I get it. And no WR. Got it. Taking BPA works out this way sometimes.

  • This draft would make the Steelers roster one of the best in the NFL. Now have a superb LT, OT depth, a playmaker to cover slot receivers and blitz, a massive TE who blocks and makes coverage a nightmare for defenses, a very talented coverage backer to fix the nightmare of short passes over the middle of the field, a superb Y receiver with very good hands, a CB project who sure as hell has the size to play the position and an underrated edge rusher who backs up the big boys.

  • Branch a vast improvement over Edmunds as S covering middle of the field. Forget the 4.58 - he can actually run fast wearing 10 lbs. of equipment and rumor is that NFL players indeed wear equipment. Wright at RT. Call him the "Wright Tackle." Mazi at the 0 along with Cam and Leal at 5, and the two OLB? Yes please. Brents a great value that late, Wicks an excellent Y receiver, good hands, big enough, good route runner. Schoonmaker takes over as TE2, Bagent an interesting developmental QB.
