No losing seasons

I swear these twatwaffles would have rather lost today so they could get the Fire Tomlin wagon going full steam ahead instead of being 9 and 3 šŸ¤£
Nothing+stops+nothing.jpg

The dumb debauchery that could have costed him this game. Right before half time he had a time out but he blew using it costing us a chance at a TD. How difficult is using a TO instead of blowing it and wasting 8 seconds but there he stood, blowing it. That dumb blunder could have costed us the game. Tomlin is just not smart.
Or they could've forced a pass in the end zone for an interception or taken a sack and missed out on a field goal.

8 seconds. Thatā€™s a low percentage chance for endzone. Greater chance for a pick unless itā€™s a throw away. Take the 3 points, start the second half with the ball. Lombardi, Shula, Walsh, Cowher, Reid - 101 Football in game management. You are a couch coach if you decide anything else.
Well Iā€™m not going to make a big deal about the non call of a TO there, but I surely will reply to this post. And Iā€™ve already stated a few timesā€¦.the coaches had a great game plan today. But it doesnā€™t mean you canā€™t disagree with the non call.

This couch potato coach would have certainly called a TO there. And youā€™re trying to tell me Andy Reid with Pat Mahomesā€¦Bill Cowher with Big Benā€¦Bill Walsh with Joe Montanaā€¦.Don Shula with Dan Marino ā€¦.Vince Lombardi with Bart Starr would not have called a TO and given there QB a chance with a pass into the Endzone? There was enough time to spot someone open or throw it away and still make the FG. I think Andy Reid would have called a TO so fast that they might have added on a second. I certainly disagree with your very own couch potato coach assessment of that play.
Cheers.

I think weā€™d be all strutting around with our chests out proud as could be at our teams achievement of no losing seasons if we had playoff success in the last 14 years.

So we've been here done that, memorized the script forward and backward. Just waiting to see if the ending is going to be rewritten.

if you are going to make this assertion you should really know that "costed" is not a word

******* idiot
Actually, costed is a word, just not correctly used here.

cost
verb
past tense: costed; past participle: costed

  1. 1.
(of an object or action) require the payment of (a specified sum of money) before it can be acquired or done.
"each issue of the magazine costs $2.25"

    Similar:

    sell for
    be valued at
    fetch

    come to

    amount to
    be

    set someone back

    go for

    knock someone back

  2. 2.
    estimate the price of.
"it is their job to plan and cost a media schedule for the campaign"
  3. -Yep just in many cases you would use cost.

If itā€™s not a big deal, why comment on it? For the record, Russ, at this time, isnā€™t anything close to Montana, Marino, Mahomes or Ben. Coach Lombardi was the most conservative out of all of those coaches, you think heā€™s gambling with a lead in that situation? You said it yourself ā€œa chanceā€. That chance with many low percentage if, if, ifā€™s. Take the easy points, you are getting the ball after the half.

Maybe. Maybe not.
Cowher had a ton of playoff success while at the same time slammed for "never winning anything".... until he finally did before he retired.
I so clearly remember that playoff wins were not good enough for those calling for Cowhers head.

Grammar question...is saying "maybe not" necessary after saying "maybe"?
Because if you think about it, saying "maybe" already implies "maybe not".

17 years as a head coach and he STILL hasn't learned clock management. There is something way wrong there, almost like he is doing it on purpose.

Before half was 100% on purpose and Iā€™d be stunned if he said otherwise. He managed the time fine for what he wanted to achieve before the half.

As others said before, he managed the clock properly for getting 3 points. If any, we could blame him of being conservative and not going for 7 but the clock was correctly used for the plan he had, low risk/take what's given.

Many here confuse the hatred for this exact thing. Itā€™s not that many donā€™t want wins more than losses, but itā€™s the Groundhog Day affect that is very bothersome.

Playoff wins have always been the standard with this franchise, post merger, and many here feel the standard has & is being lowered by this coaching regime.

This year will be different (not yesterdays high talking), this team has some juice in the tank. I just hope the Coaching sideā€™s juice is plentiful enough to last a round or two +, in to the playoffs.

I think part of what makes Ben's HOF bid WAY ahead of Eli Manning is no losing seasons. So it's an accomplishment. You can deny that but to me it really muddies legit criticisms of the organization and it's leadership.

Why comment on it? Because i thought your statement was absolute hogwash. And itā€™s a football forum. Thatā€™s why.

And to be clear it wasnā€™t the lack of TO it was the statement -
ā€œLombardi, Shula, Walsh, Cowher, Reid - 101 Football in game management. You are a couch coach if you decide anything else.ā€
As if you know they would all do the same thing in that situation. Iā€™d wager that Reid certainly wouldnā€™t. We will never knowā€¦.will we my fellow couch coach? Seems like you canā€™t simply disagree on a clock management decision by CMT.

And since you brought him inā€¦Lombardi was known to be conservative. Admittedly I never ever saw him coach. I wonder if he would have gambled a fake punt on 4th and 15 on your own 16 also with the lead and all the momentum. Iā€™ll have to look that up in 101 Football. Sorry for the extra comment on a forum.

You are certainly right about the Cowher example. I guess itā€™s just human nature, always wanting more.

But to even have a chance to win in the playoffs, you have to have a winning season.

I'm not even worried about the "groundhog" affect. I'll cross that bridge if we come to it and deal with it. I don't believe what happened in years past impacts this present year. I'm into what is right now. They are 9-3 and fun to watch. I wish people could just enjoy it for what it is.
