Kind of funny we are worried about a few thousand refugees, when the real threat in our country is drug use. They estimate that over
10% of the US population over 12 are using drugs. How much lost economic productivity, crime, and healthcare costs do you think
that is costing us?

This from a guy who is bitching about the budget in one thread and drugs in this one. Where the **** do you think the drugs are coming from? Mars? Most of the heroin is coming from Mexico way. You can't stop drugs without stopping the people CROSSING THE ******* BORDER!

It's not even really about the drugs to me but the fact all that money is flowing from our country INTO their country. Mexico doesn't give a **** about this issue. Their entire GNP is propped up by the illegal drug trade and remitances sent back to Mexico from workers in the U.S. economy. When you combine the two issues, it is literally like $50 billion (probably a lot more) flowing from our economy into their economy every ******* year. That's money that SHOULD be spent on goods and service right here in the U.S. generating legitamate economic growth and taxes. When Bush issued the "tax stimulus" package of giving every family like $500 - $1000 for that one year, this is equivalent to that happening EVERY YEAR at a net DECREASE cost to the government (government would make more money).

I've always said, if you really want to stop drugs coming into our country, stop the money going BACK and watch how fast that **** dries up.

Trump is 100% correct. This is really about the economy stupid and putting America's economy ahead of us propping up Mexico like we have for the past 40 years as President after President just looks the other way.

It's called seeking asylum, fleeing murder and suffering, seeking shelter, safety and security. According to the UNHCR 'an unprecedented 68.5 million people around the world have been forced from home." This happens to be a mere 3-4,000 of them.

Yeah, not so much. Even your beloved PMSNBC propaganda machine says not so much

MSNBC: Majority of Caravan Members Are Men, Some Not Talking About Asylum

An MSNBC correspondent said Monday that the majority of people in the migrant caravan at the southern border were men, noting some of them weren't talking about seeking asylum.

Reporting just over the southern border in Tijuana, Mexico, Gadi Schwartz took viewers on a walking tour through the "inner sanctum" of the shelter for the caravan, which consists of Central American migrants...

"From what we've seen, the majority are actually men, and some of these men have not articulated that need for asylum," he continued. "Instead, they have talked about going to the United States for a better life and to find work."

Schwartz reported seeing roughly 600 men standing in line at a food bank at the outskirts of the migrant encampment.

The fake news media wants you to believe these people are escaping horrible oppressive governments and fleeing death and destruction. The majority simply want a better life. This isn't like the Syrian crisis. But Libs like Tibs (I love the sound of that) drink this kool-aid up. This is nothing like Syria. NOTHING.

Want a better life? Knock on the front door, fill out the paperwork, and we welcome you.

For the leftists in the cheap seats:

They are not refugees or asylum seekers they are economic migrants.

Obama used tear gas on those poor women and children asylum seekers once a month??? Why did Obama hate the brown people? He must be a Black White Supremacist. Clayton Bigsby would be proud.

I still like my ship them all to Hawaii idea, they want to come to US, we take u there, big island, let Dems take care of U

2 cruise ship, about 10,000 should do it

Welcome to America, Aloha

That won't work. They'd just make the U.S. pay for their boat trip back to the U.S. since Hawaii is a U.S. state.

I hear Cuba is nice this time of year. Maybe that socialist Mecca will take them in.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the star Democratic congresswoman-elect from New York, compared migrant caravan members who clashed over the weekend with U.S. border agents to Jewish families fleeing Nazi Germany and other targets of genocide.

Ocasio-Cortez, who was elected to represent New York’s 14th Congressional District earlier this month, tweeted over the weekend in support of those attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. She compared those fleeing violence in Central America to those who escaped Germany, Rwanda and Syria.

“Asking to be considered a refugee & applying for status isn’t a crime. It wasn’t for Jewish families fleeing Germany. It wasn’t for targeted families fleeing Rwanda. It wasn’t for communities fleeing war-torn Syria. And it isn’t for those fleeing violence in Central America,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted late Sunday.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., fired back at the incoming freshman lawmaker on Monday, recommending she study the "differences" between Nazi Germany and the migrant caravan in Mexico.

"I recommend she take a tour of the Holocaust Museum in DC. Might help her better understand the differences between the Holocaust and the caravan in Tijuana," Graham tweeted.

Ocasio-Cortez responded to Graham Monday evening by tweeting: "[T]he point of such a treasured museum is to bring its lessons to present day.

"This administration has jailed children and violated human rights," she added. "Perhaps we should stop pretending that authoritarianism + violence is a historical event instead of a growing force."

Over the weekend, hundreds of migrants from the Central American caravan rushed the border at the port of entry in San Ysidro, Calif.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said some demonstrators “attempted to illegally enter the U.S. through both the northbound and southbound vehicle lanes at the port of entry itself. Those persons were stopped and turned back to Mexico.”

U.S. border agents shot several rounds of tear gas after some migrants attempted to penetrate various points along the border and threw what appeared to be rocks at U.S. authorities.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said in a statement that some migrants "attempted to breach legacy fence infrastructure along the border and sought to harm CBP personnel by throwing projectiles at them.

"As I have continually stated, DHS will not tolerate this type of lawlessness and will not hesitate to shut down ports of entry for security and public safety reasons," Nielsen said. "We will also seek to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone who destroys federal property, endangers our frontline operators, or violates our nation’s sovereignty."

The Mexican Interior Ministry said Sunday afternoon it would immediately deport the migrants who tried to "violently" breach the border. The Mexican government described Sunday's events as "acts of provocation" that were "far from helpful" for the migrants' objectives.

President Trump told Mexico early Monday that migrants allegedly threatening to storm the U.S. would be sent “back to their countries.”

“Mexico should move the flag waving Migrants, many of whom are stone cold criminals, back to their countries,” Trump tweeted. “Do it by plane, do it by bus, do it anyway you want, but they are NOT coming into the U.S.A. We will close the Border permanently if need be. Congress, fund the WALL!” Trump tweeted Monday morning.

The Trump administration has said asylum claims from members of a series of caravans originating in Central America must be processed outside the U.S., and that all those entering illegally will be denied. A federal judge has at least temporarily ruled against the policy, but the administration has taken steps to harden the border.

As of Monday morning, about 50 migrants had been detained after illegally crossing the border. The exact number of those apprehended is expected to be made public later Monday, a senior Department of Homeland Security official told Fox News.

In Mexico, Tijuana’s municipal government announced it arrested more than three-dozen migrants for disturbing the peace and other charges related to the crossing attempt.

Fox News’ Greg Wilson, Greg Norman and Gregg Re contributed to this report.

For AOC because she is the dumbest person ever elected to congress:

These aren't refugees or asylum seekers they are economic migrants.

No, there are IN the US in Hawaii, they can stay there or swim home, lol

Food for thought.

so you turn away from facts and want to appeal to heart strings when your argument is as thoroughly destroyed as it has been.
Legals don't climb fences, or try to sneak through.
Yet these migrants are attempting just that.

so you turn away from facts and want to appeal to heart strings when your argument is as thoroughly destroyed as it has been.

And what argument would that be, that's been so 'thoroughly destroyed?' That we shouldn't use tear gas on women and children? That with weeks of advance notice, the response at the border should have been better organized, where legit asylum seekers could be processed and the others sorted out?

That's pretty much all I've argued in this thead. The rest, per usual, is your imagination working overtime.

is anyone saying we should go around spraying women and children with tear gas, or is that the image you're receiving and clutching to from the MSM? Were you complaining when The Great O, The Bottom of Bottoms, The Ganja Smokin Community Organizer, Mr You Didnt Build That, Mr Pick Axe with Penny Loafers, Bathhouse Barry was doing...precisely...the...same...thing, or are you up in arms because the MSM is telling you to be upset and angered? Maybe you should use some common sense and see that what is happening to our southern border is exactly the same tactics the Palestinians are using against Israel. Lob attacks, then hide behind the women and children.

Nah. You keep on with your unglued, misguided, nevertrumper self.

Amazing I can actually agree with Geraldo on something. This would be it...

If Congress had given Trump funding for his wall then no one gets tear gassed.

Tibs reinforced this policy under Obama. Supported it. Called it necessary.

"And what argument would that be, that's been so 'thoroughly destroyed?' That we shouldn't use tear gas on women and children? "

Inconvenient little double standard this is...once...again...for he of selective outrage.

Based on multiple posts in this thread, they're saying much worse than that.

you're perfectly fine with cherry-picking posts and misapplying them, aren't you?
I see you 100% completely and totally avoided the rest of my statement.

Three Convicted Felons Arrested by Border Patrol

Agents first encountered and arrested a 50-year-old Mexican national, Agustin Sanchez-Velazquez, after he illegally crossed the border in Nogales Saturday evening. When agents conducted a records check on Sanchez, they learned he had been convicted in Los Angeles County of voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 16 years in prison in 2005.

On Sunday, Casa Grande agents apprehended 42-year-old Humberto Algandar-Acosta of Mexico for being illegally present in the United States. During processing, agents discovered that Algandar had been previously convicted in Arizona in 2009 for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, heroine, and cocaine. He was sentenced to 37 months confinement for his crimes.

Also on Sunday, Nogales agents apprehended another Mexican national, 36-year-old Antonio Carteno-Osorio, for being illegally present in the United States. Carteno, who was convicted in 2002 of a felony in New York for 1st degree sexual abuse of an individual under 11 years of age, served one year in prison and was removed from the United States.

The three men are in federal custody and are being presented for felony criminal immigration charges. All individuals apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using biometrics to ensure illegal aliens with criminal histories are positively identified.
