With the USS Carl Vinson carrier group steaming toward the Korean peninsula for what some speculate may be to launch a "decapitation" strike on the Kim Jong-Un regime, on Tuesday North Korean state media threatened the US with a nuclear attack at any sign of a U.S. pre-emptive strike, and warned it is ready for "war" as Washington tightened the screws on the nuclear-armed state.

North Korea's official Rodong Sinmun newspaper said the country was prepared to respond to any aggression by the United States. "Our revolutionary strong army is keenly watching every move by enemy elements with our nuclear sight focused on the U.S. invasionary bases not only in South Korea and the Pacific operation theatre but also in the U.S. mainland," it said.

The North's foreign ministry, in a statement carried by its KCNA news agency, said the U.S. navy strike group's approach showed America's "reckless moves for invading had reached a serious phase".

The whole problem with this situation is there is no way to eliminate the North Korean threat to the millions in South Korea in a single strike unless it is absolutely MASSIVE.

We know this, so do they. Surgical strikes won't work It will be all out war or nothing.

Pressured By Trump, It Looks Like China May Do Something About North Korea's Nukes

After a Chinese envoy arrived in South Korea, the two sides have agreed to take "strong action" against North Korea if the North continues to test nuclear and ballistic missiles, according to VOA News.

Joel Witt, the cofounder of 38 North, a website that brings together experts on North Korea, told Business Insider that the country's progress in developing nuclear and ballistic missiles had appeared to rapidly increase over the past year.

With each test, North Korea gets closer to its goal of creating an intercontinental ballistic missile that could threaten the US mainland. US President Donald Trump's administration has been clear it is open to taking military action to try to prevent this.

We shall see

We could sell California to the Chinese. THEY know how to build a wall....

That is brilliant. That would go nicely with selling Mexico to the Israelis so that they could transplant the Palestinians and Syrians south of the new wall. Then the Israelis could lay claim to giant swaths of holy desert.

Whirled peas is close!

Pentagon Shoots Down Reports of SEAL Team Six Training in South Korea

Reports that SEAL Team Six is training in South Korea are false, a senior defense official told Fox News on Tuesday. SEAL Team Six is a direct action and hostage rescue team, part of the national mission force, not the type of unit that would participate in a training exercise in South Korea, a separate U.S. defense official said. There are U.S. special operations teams -- including SEALs -- who always conduct training in the region with their South Korean counterparts, according to officials. They say the U.S. forces will continue to do so in the annual Foal Eagle exercise

China rejects North Korean coal shipments, buying US supplies instead

China has sent a flotilla of North Korean freighters loaded with coking coal back to their home ports, according to an exclusive Reuters report. Meanwhile, China has placed massive orders for the steel-making commodity from U.S. producers.

The move reflects China’s public commitment on Feb. 26 to join other nations in punishing North Korea for its continued nuclear weapons and ballistic missile development program. China said in February it was suspending North Korean imports for the rest of this year.

US drops largest non-nuclear bomb in Afghanistan

The US military has dropped an enormous bomb in Afghanistan according to four US military officials with direct knowledge of the mission.

A GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb — nicknamed the "Mother of All Bombs" (MOAB) — was dropped in at 7 p.m. local time Thursday, sources said.

This is the first time a MOAB has been used in the battlefield, according to the US officials.

Military sources said the target was ISIS tunnels and personnel in the Achin district of the Nangarhar province. The military is currently assessing the damage.

This munition was developed during the Iraq War but was never used in the battlefield

U.S. May Launch Strike If North Korea Reaches For Nuclear Trigger

The U.S. is prepared to launch a preemptive strike with conventional weapons against North Korea should officials become convinced that North Korea is about to follow through with a nuclear weapons test, multiple senior U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News.

North Korea has warned that a "big event" is near, and U.S. officials say signs point to a nuclear test that could come as early as this weekend.

The intelligence officials told NBC News that the U.S. has positioned two destroyers capable of shooting Tomahawk cruise missiles in the region, one just 300 miles from the North Korean nuclear test site.

American heavy bombers are also positioned in Guam to attack North Korea should it be necessary, and earlier this week, the Pentagon announced that the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier strike group was being diverted to the area.

Air China to suspend Beijing-Pyongyang flights
