For quite some time I've noticed people calling America a democracy. I didn't think much of it, only to say to myself, no a Republic. Lately, politicians have been using it more and more. "Save our Democracy" "Ensure Democracy" "A threat to Democracy". And I've talked to friends about it in conversation and said it seems like they are trying to repeat the word democracy enough so to confuse or instill the belief into the young & impressionable people that we are a democracy. Then I stumbled across the old clip. It should be required viewing for school students and most of our politicians.

The New Zealanders just had a court case saying it is discriminatory to deny the vote to 16 YEAROLDS. The leftists and GLOBOHOMO are trying to expand voting to people it is easier to bribe because they lack the ability to think long term. Yes I know. That's why I pointed it out the terms used by the leftists . I might add the other cute term used is equity. They would like to give equity so they can get equality of outcome regardless of output of effort.

They play the long game. They're doing exceptionally well. The weaponizing of government agencies to go after political opposition was a big step. Obama really pushed that forward.

Once a society no longer believes that the individual is more important than the collective, the society is done. The collective always - ALWAYS - protects itself at the expense of the individual, or MANY individuals.

For a republic of laws the franchise must be restricted to citizens who are responsible and have a vested stake in the way things run and turn out. In my opinion voting should be limited like this.

Citizens with IQs above 90 can vote.
Net taxpayers vote for representatives.
Senators go back to being appointed by the state governors.
Honorably discharged veterans and currently serving military members vote for the President.

The IQ requirement is because people with lower intelligence lack the ability to understand long term consequences.

Senators are supposed to be above electoral politics and represent the states.
Military and Vets vote for the executive because they are the ones that know the cost and pay the price for the decisions of a bad President.

I work 50 hour weeks and pay taxes, I am a military combat veteran, I have raised two children who are also contributing responsible citizens. Why should a person who contributes nothing and is in fact a drain on society have a vote that counts as much as mine? Being born here and breathing are a bad basis for allowing a person to have a say in how things are run.

With a national ID & single database, drunk drivers don’t get a new license in another state, deadbeat parents don’t hide income from other states, legal voters are easily identified ………

Plato held that the idea of democracy was foolish. No way can an average man know how to run a government.

I say this to point out that every form of government is messed up, and will eventually fail due to those in power screwing it up. Mankind is the the problem. As long as we have that issue we will be constantly finding adjustments, or whatever, to fix things. It won't work. The cycle of what we are seeing will continue.

I was issued myID from Uncle Sam when I enlisted. Maybe everyone needs to be enlisted for 4 years so they will get an ID

In PA if you can't get or don't need a driver's license you can get a state-issued photo ID that looks kinda like a driver's license and it's free.

For all the **** Federal, State and local governments waste money on, a state issued ID should be among the top items they spend tax money on. It solves a problem that no one seems to have the guts to solve, win-win.
