Penguins *******!

Just trying to shake up the dust in case Rutherford is listening - he needs to make us forget Shero and find some magic

If by some miracle the Pens make it out of the 1st round this year, I consider it a rousing victory. Anything beyond round 1 is gravy.

I thought it was Cup or Bust? It will be curious to see if Johnston is retained if they go one and done.

It's always Cup or bust

I'd go after Babcock anyway, the Pens need a strong hand - for years they have relied more on talent than discipline and doing the little things that win hockey games. all they care about is offense. That's why every time something happens or they get behind their only plan is to go all pond hockey.

Lapierre basically said exactly that when he was first acquired. that the Blues rely on structure and discipline while the Pens just try to play free-wheeling offense all the time.

Oh man I'd be happy if they could get Babcock.

Has Babcock extended with Detroit? He was in the final year of his contract.

stop it - we're not losing Malkin - he's bought and paid for

Evgeni Malkin contract: Penguins forward agrees to 8-year, $76 million extension

The two sides have agreed to an eight-year, $76 million contract that carries an annual average value of $9.5 million against the salary cap, beginning in the 2014-15 season, the deal will conclude after 2021-22.
makes him EASIER to trade....he's expensive, but that's a bargain for a player that would be a #1 C on almost any other team....

maybe someone can blow smoke and sell him on getting out from Syd's shadow and buy some other KHL rejects to keep him company.

I have no problem with Sutter being the #2 C...dude's under rated, and it's not like he centers a overly talented line, most times....when he's in with the 1's and 2's, he creates....actually does a good job with the 3's, for that matter.

Kunitz is Crosby's boy, and he's really good at it...and a fan favorite....he ain't going anywhere.

and get those young legs back on the ice

......where the hell is Megna?

WBS. He was sent down after they got one of the newer guys. Bennett has been sitting, Harrington was sent down to WBS. I don't think they have any faith in the youngsters.

well I don't have any faith in Scuderi or Adams - OK on the PK, but too old and slow and can't move the puck out of their own end

I wonder what would happen if a strict disciplinarian type coach showed up here? Sid's been coddled his whole career....could get ugly....but I think it's necessary.

They need it and Sid needs it. If he ever wants to win the cup again.

Pens on national TV tonight against the Red Wings. NBCSN @ 8. Glad I am at work.

Damn good game against the Redwings 4-1. Now that is what i'd like to see a lot more of. Nice win.

yep, they shut them down for 2 and a 1/2 pretty well....easier when they have everybody out there and a bit of rest.

Pens are mighty again with Hornqvist and Comeau back

just like I perdicted

Pens looked good last night against a worthy opponent. Puck control, baby. Now would be a good time to start building momentum towards our Cup run.

Now there was the Pens team we all know. Blow a 3 goal lead and a 2 goal lead in span of 11 minutes, allowing an NHL bottom feeder to tie the game and take you to the shootout. Lucky to get 2 points there.

And Sid, EVERYONE knows you are going 5 hole in the shootout. Time to change it up genius.

They need a killer instinct. Get a team down then give them no hope.

Back to back games are tough, especially when you are playing away, and your opponent is rested. They ran out of steam in the third. Combine that with having Greiss in net....there you have it. Happy to get the two points. Glad to see Sid back on the score sheet.

They could play a little more defense when up by 3 goals. Trap them in the neutral zone. Play keep away. They need to do that when they have a goalie in net who couldn't stop a beachball. Now is the time to practice. Not when they get to the playoffs. I am happy with the 2 points, but it was damn near close to no points. If you're running out of gas by the third you may want to check your training regiment. These guys are young. Maybe I'm just a hardass. I just see years worth of squandered talent when they should be collecting cups like Halloween candy.
