Penguins *******!

Not sure what's more fun, watching the Pens games or slamming my hand in a car door. Both are awful painful.

I do not have a good vibe going with the flightless birds.

Lets Go Wild.....

Losing to the ****** flyers in a ****** fashion.

It's the losing to inferior teams is what's troubling. The Pens are clearly better than many of the teams they are losing to or are they? They are the Steelers 2.0. The PO are getting closer and closer, and the injuries are piling up, too. If Martin would have went down with Giroux's shot at the end of the 2nd period, holy moly, then what?
Freakin' Malkin. Guess he was brought back too soon? Can we forfeit the next two games so no one else gets hurt?

The optimism, that the Pens are a legit contender, is a rare commodity these days.

Pens are now officially a Wild Card team - 5 pts ahead of Ottawa from falling out of the playoffs with 5 games to go.

I don't even want to think about them missing the playoffs. Rutherford and Johnston would deserved to be ****-canned and the team blown up. Doubt it will happen, but that is the worst case going forward.

Yep, horrible night for the Pens as the Caps, Bruins, Sens and Panthers all won while the Isles managed to grab a point. Panthers barely hanging on by a thread though with a brutal three game stretch up next, don't see them making it out of the weekend alive. As the Bruins seem to be tightening their grip on a playoff spot, the Sens do have another way in and that is via the Wings as their lackluster play also continues. Sens may have a third way in too, and that's by way of our very own ****** Pens or perhaps the Isles, depending on who decides to fold worse. The Sens do meet the Pens on Tuesday so that works in their favor. Hang on folks, could be a bumpy finish.

Oh yeah, and up next for the Pens are the lowly Jackets, who are on an 8 game winning streak. And 6 of those wins were against teams currently seeded in the playoffs, including the Canucks, Ducks, Hawks and Blues. After that game, they travel to Philly again. Oh joy.

Penguins notebook: Team could make move to bolster defense

By playing a man short Wednesday, the Penguins are eligible for an injury exemption and are expected to recall defenseman Taylor Chorney from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton before Saturday's game in Columbus.

Chorney is the logical choice to recall. He is an AHL-best plus-26 in 62 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season and has played 63 NHL games, including two with the Penguins this season. Also, he makes $550,000, which fits within the amount the Penguins are allowed to spend to remain cap compliant.

Top prospects Scott Harrington and Brian Dumoulin are not candidates for a potential recall because they make more than the $650,000 the Penguins can spend

What a mess. How the heck can we be at the top of the cap and have such lamo production? There is a point at which a high salary figure has to more or less mean a good team.

It boggles the mind.

Not only that, but how do you manage the cap and not account for potential injuries and the possibility of needing to call guys up? Especially when you're a team that's been routinely ravaged by injuries for the past five years or so. Somebody needs firing.

The #Pens have recalled defenseman Taylor Chorney from the @WBSPenguins.

I don't care who it is. Just glad they will have more then 5 defensemen.

yep, they could have brought someone up from Wheeling and I'd be thrilled. About time they got a tad creative.

#Pens Ehrhoff is out for both of this weekend's games.

#Pens Malkin: "I rushed (previous injury). Came back a little too early and didn't feel good after back-to-back games."

#Pens Evgeni Malkin: I won't play tomorrow (at CBJ) but maybe Sunday (at PHI)."

I really don't think they want to play in the playoffs.

This is well said.
Maybe because we're not expecting much they might surprise us. Not counting on that though.

Pens managing to blow another 2-0 lead

suck and blow

This thread title was correct from early in the season

This team is an epic clusterfuck. That coach and gm should be gone if they dont make the playoffs. In fact i'd fire them if they lose to the flyers tomorrow on national tv.

At this point it's critical mass. The whole team from the coaching staff to the equipment boy, have to look in the mirror and ask how they can improve something.

Jobs have to be on the line at this point.

Its a damn good thing we traded youth for all that experience again... more old farts doing nothing is obviously just what this team needed

we got 3 hockey players and a bunch of 4th liner turnover machines

it's all on the line against Philly tomorrow - - Malkin must return to save the season

They will lose tomorrow and then the Sens will spank them on Tuesday. Saying that, there is a good chance the Guins will be on the outside looking in. Chew on that for a bit. Shero and Bylsma must be grinning ear to ear watching this collapse.

Yep, Sens play the lowly Leafs tomorrow while the Pens stumble into Philly to face their kyrptonite. By Tuesday's game, it could be Pens at 95 points and the Sens at 94. Wonder if Malkin is playing tomorrow or if he still has a case of Flyeritis.

Honestly, how much does it matter if Malkin plays tomorrow? This team looks at the Flyers and are scared. They get behind and it's over. I haven't seen this bad of a Pens team in awhile. They can't hold a lead or comeback when down. I will not even be upset if they miss the PO because they will get run over by the Rangers, Caps, Habs and Lightning anyway. Maybe that's what this organization needs to look in the mirror. I mean, a long, hard look to what they have become.
