Penguins *******!

Hmmm. What to do Sunday. Watch the Pens/Flyers game or work in the yard. I think I'll enjoy the beautiful weather outside.

I've built up a collection of Ticketmaster gift cards. Was gonna use them to take in a Pens game with the wife but they've stunk up the joint for the past month so i guess I'll use them for...hang on...wait for it...the Pirates.

Injuries play a big part in the answer to the "why are they near cap limit but look like ****" question. Maatta, Dupers, Letang, Malkin on and off, etc. This team has had a pretty rough go of it from the health standpoint.

BUT......Rutherford put them in a position that meant ONE injury would leave them w/o enough defensemen. That's unacceptable. He needs to go.

I just hope that the decision makers don't decide to write this cluster of a season off as an injury thing and decide that nothing needs to change.

end of the 2nd, PHI leads 2-1. Just as predicted. Mason thinks he's the second coming of Brodeur. Par for the course.

******* pathetic.

what, Griese got bored or something?

dead on the ice....

they ain't gonna make it.

Come on Ottawa. Seriously, at this point I hope they don't make it. They'd get clobbered in the first round anyway and you can't use the excuse of injuries for not making the playoffs. Not making playoffs is the only way anything drastic will happen. This team needs to be gutted and no one should be off the table for being traded. Crosby, Malkin, fluery and Letang included.

I'd keep Sid and Letang....

Malkin and Fluery can go, might bring something back, but with this GM, who the **** knows?

Murray has 11 SO's at WBS...watched some, he's the real deal.

they'll probably trade him.

Yup knew that was coming. Fire MJ ASAP

Good game...Good Effort....Good GAME!

Seriously, wtf is wrong w your team?
also, why start a backup goalie in an almost must win vs a team you've struggled to beat?

I don't get it.

Come on Ottawa. Seriously.

I wouldn't go that far

Flyers are still under their skin and simply have the Pens number...what can you do ...comes down to Sens on Tues

let's rewind---Pens were up and in control late in the 1st with 1;30 to go

Winnik takes a stupid retaliation penalty

Scuderi / Lovejoy can't clear on their PP........ and they score with 40 sec left.........well there's your problem

that changed the game to 1-1......it was all downhill from there

I have to give the Flyers credit - Sid and Malkin were invisible

Trailing 2-1 entering the third period, the Penguins dropped to 0-18-5 when entering the third period while staring at a deficit.

and that's all she wrote

Team morale went in the toilet after the Despres trade

Assistant GM's wives were getting boned by Simone ........that's my story and I'm sticking to it..

Kuntiz, Lovejory continue to suck and nobody on this team can hit the wide open net!

Brandon Sutter: "If we keep playing like we did tonight, we'll be fine."

That is an actual post-game quote

let that sink in

Scuderi post-game - "We carried the play tonight. As long as we bring this game the last three, we'll be okay"

Yup. This team is in denial from the top on down.

They can't score goals and can't play defense. Other than that, they're fine.

Aside from a small handful of players, this team doesn't have any talent. Their secondary scorers are awful, their defense is awful, their top guns can't score a clutch goal to save their lives. And we fired Shero and Bylsma for this?

I'm glad i only watched the first period. ******* hate the flyers.Orange is a god awful color for a uniform. I think i hate our coach and gm more right now. What a **** product they have become. And here i thought i'd have some comfort after the Steelers **** the bed in the playoffs again.....nope no chance on that. ugh.

Well, Toronto helped out by holding Ottawa to one point.

If we lose in regulation on Tuesday, we are tied with the Sens, then we get the Isles. The season basically rests on the next two games and I don't feel good about it. Do we really want to endure the playoffs? A sweep would be just as bad as missing the PO. Either way, we are screwed.

The Sens choke to the Leafs in a shootout means that the Isles need just 1 point to secure a spot as the Sens can't match them in regulation plus overtime wins (currently 39 to 34 in Isles favor.) Thus, Tuesday's matchup against the Pens is huge. If the Pens win, they clinch a spot with 97 points as the Sens would also not be able to match them in regulation plus overtime wins (Pens currently have 38 to Sens 34.) But if the Pens lose or even manage to grab a point, then a whole can of worms opens up for the Pens. Pens have the finale with Buffalo, but why should that offer any hope? They've shown that they can lose to anyone in any way possible.

In any event, if they get in, it's all like backing in or falling into a playoff spot and is rather pathetic. And any first round opponent will be licking their chops.

I have a better chance of winning the lotto then the Pens have of winning the cup this year. I just don't see it and i think the team knows it too.

I find it all very exciting - *If the playoffs started today* - bring on the Habs!

At least the Pens didn't lose tonight.

They will lose tomorrow and then the Sens will spank them on Tuesday. Saying that, there is a good chance the Guins will be on the outside looking in. Chew on that for a bit. Shero and Bylsma must be grinning ear to ear watching this collapse.

I did think that Bylsma lost the team last year but his replacement is not an upgrade. Keep that in mind when we're screaming for the head of the 6th best coach in the NFL.

Pens own the tiebreaker - even if they lose to the Sens they will still be leading.

It could come down to the last game against Buffalo on Sat - oh what drama!

Just remember, the NHL is a lot like the NBA in that it's pretty hard to miss the playoffs.
