Penguins *******!

Hi Ron ;)

Flower, Sid, Sutter, Cole all awesome and Kunitz with Sid made a difference! Geno steps up along with Perron we could be into next round. ****, scuds played well and loved Lapierre giving play by play of Sid to Rangers.

On a 1-1, I think Downey and Bennett could be replaced

the two "Baby" Pens are pretty freakin good..

They actually are making a big difference for this team..

Nice win tonight..Crosby lead the way!

ha ha

Kuzintz proved me wrong for once but there's a whole crew of ******* gonna be wrong about the Pens being swept

Rangers suck!

We got em right where we want them - Pens in 5

Needed that one. As long as we don't get swept at home, it's a series. I'd love to win the next two, but a split makes it a best of three, and we'd have a chance with that. I can't stand the Rangers. They're number 3 on my hate list, behind the Rats, and Flyers.

Now THAT'S the game I wanted to see. We didn't panic, back down and kept after them. It wasn't pretty, but it was a W on the road, in the PO. The penalties are ridonkulous! They have to stop the hooking and slashing, but the refs suck, too. The blindside hit on Sid is called 99.9% of the time when a Penguin does that exact same thing. That was the one non-call I was livid about.
I would love to take both games in the Burgh, but one will suffice. I like our chances in a 3-game series. We can play with them, but HAVE to chill on the penalties. The Rangers are faster and better, but the Pens proved again that they can cause some havoc. Let's do this **** again on Monday! Consol better be rockin'!!!

They were all over the dirty Rags

but if I have to ***** it would be Malkin butchering a 3 on 1 with the net empty and letting them come back to score - had me screaming like a scalded goose

me too, Spike! Malkin screwed up two plays playing lazy trying to pass the puck. I screamed at the TV both times.

To be fair, though. He made a terrific play by our goal line to save a shorthanded goal. They won, so I'm good, for now.

oh yeah - that was a great play he made to save a goal - lots of credit all around, Fleury >>>>Hank, Sid woke up and the PK was brilliant

Dirty Rag player should get suspended for that cross check to the head too

Scuds missed the open net.
.

That was Lappy at the end, not Scuds

and since I haven't bitched about the refs all year - they deserve some **** now ....they totally sucked

this brutal headshot deserved more than 2 min - it was worse than Subban's slash, by a lot:

nah, before that...I think at about 1:33 or so.

I admit, I thought they would lay down and schedule vacations, but we got a series now.

Malkin's play is really not good right now..He turns the puck over so much it has to be a huge concern for the organization..

I actually get uptight when he has the puck lately...it's that bad to me at the moment..

BMTI.....I get he was trying to get Sid the HT, but this is the freaking play offs! **** individual stats......you have to score on that 3 on 1 opportunity.

He's been the TO king for quite awhile not just recently.

Great win....outstanding effort from all (the above notwithstanding). Sid and Kunitz getting off the schneide will be huge if it holds....the confidence it will instill alone is invaluable. Sutter seems to be a beast in the PO's, Fleury is God, Doumoulin and Cole again strong, Perron and Lappy turning it up (Lappy is all up in the rags heads as shown by the dumb penalty at a critical time on Yandle), secondary scoring and "king" henry giving up four. It all adds up to a completely new series.....stealing one there is HUGE.

The team needs to be more disciplined and stop taking dumb penalties ESPECIALLY given the one sided nature of the officiating.......that said I don't think there's any way you can bench Downey. He's just too big a factor on that energy line and he does score some critical goals.

Hopefully that was Crosby's coming out party. 1 goal in his previous 19 playoff games. That is terrible for the best player in the game. If he keeps it up, Malkin can get back to some kind of form and we stop taking stupid, undisciplined penalties, then we might have a chance. Surprised we won a game in this series but glad we did. Hopefully, we can build on that and get at least one at home.

The Pens have shown that they are not just going to roll over and die, like many have predicted. We need great performances from our stars.......Sid and Flower were game changers last night. I hope Geno starts showing up and earning his salary.
It is a new series.

Geno's been injured. I'm not sure if he's 100%. I hope he is and can start getting back to form. If we are going to have any chance to win this series, he, Crosby and Flower need to be in top form.

yeah, I've heard Malkin's still hurting bad - he's only about 70% - I can forgive him, especially after that game saving, falling on his *** in the net save - that was spectacular

I wish Pierre coulda given us that live audio going on when Lappy was giving play by play to their bench

"You got him mad and now he's dominating..." - Max Lapierre on Crosby to Rangers bench
.

I'm just happy that Sid was feeling good enough to do post-game and showed no ill effects.

and since I'm handing out kudos - Playoff Sutter is vastly different from regular season Sutter.

and of course I was wrong about the D - I expected the defense to be way worse. Dumo and especially Chorney have really stepped up.

Cole has really shined too and Horny is just a beeeeeeast...and Coach made all the right adjustments...I have to give him credit too

I'm not going to apologize for predicting a NY sweep. For how the Pens played for the past month and more, who predicted they would be this competitive? We hoped, but didn't see much of a pulse. Something clicked in the 2nd period of Game 1 and have continued with the pressure and getting Hank moving side to side. And to top it off, they kept the lead in the 3rd period. Another thing that was few and far between. Kunitz looked like a different player on Sid's line. Stealing one in NY was critical and they played well enough to have taken Game 1(almost). The Rangers are going to be the team that is going to show some desperation, if the Pens keep turning the tide on the President's Trophy winners. The Pens have to be able to match that intensity every shift. So far so good, but NY has to be starting to feel a tad uneasy.

Glad to see some life! They need to take the next game at home

Dittos, considering that 1) they've played like crap for the last eight weeks and 2) Malkin and Crosby's well-known failures to score any points in the playoffs.

Apology accepted!

I think, all in all, the Pens have been pretty good this series so far. It was nice to see them score some goals last night. The thing that is pissing me off is the lopsided officiating. I mean, the Rangers are getting away with the **** the Pens are getting called for aside from high sticking. I mean, the interference calls in game one. The Rangers committed at least five more egregious interference penalties last night and no calls. Ridiculous. I know the Rangers are the favorite in the east and maybe the whole league, but call it even or don't call it. 13 penalties to 4? Really?

Rant aside, the Pens are in good position. No one gave them a chance at a split in NY. NO ONE. They got it. Have to at least split in the Burgh and make it best of 3.

Flower has been terrific. Chorney has been solid. Paired with Dumolin, those kids are playing well. Just have to keep the pressure up and keep scoring. They are playing playoff hockey pretty well. Hope they keep it up.

Sid was injured last year so the 1 in 19 stat is a little misleading. And yeah I forgot to mention Chorney.....he's been pretty damn good. Guy has a helluva shot too and I look for him to score a couple.

at least our D will be in good hands for awhile. Many younger guys being thrown into the fire, as they should be. Gain that experience. Martin will be gone next year. Who knows what is in store for Letang?
