Hathaway was the guy with the knee. Marchand speared Dowd. It’s a penalty all day. That said....

Hathaway is a scumbag. Marchand level scumbag. If he didn’t pull dirty **** every shift, he’d offer nothing to the Caps.
 
I don’t seem to recall Sheary, Hagelin or Schultz being this physical with the Pens.

Thanks. I couldn't tell who the other Caps were that were involved. March hit the wrong guy but can you blame him? I'd be pissed too. :)

If we're to compete with the likes of Boston and DC in the playoffs, absolutely. I don't see them changing their game to be fast and "finessy".

The Pens were able to play a speed game and be physical in a sense on the cup teams.
I recall Kunitz, Hornqvist and Cole being rock solid those years. They had it going with Reaves, Sheahan and Oleksiak. After that it just turned into wanting to be too cute

I think half our roster would be on IR if they had to play either of these two teams to open the playoffs. Our only chance is if they smash each other into submission.

Better get past the Isles first. Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck have this team looking over their shoulder every shift. The Pens have to stop being afraid of that first and foremost.

Agreed. I should have prefaced my post with that as I have my doubts they'll get past them.
 
Still 2-2 after two.
Hopefully they'll go into the 3rd or 4th OT tonight.

Very physical teams. Even if we take the NYI, we don't have the moxie to play their game. Only Tanev is on that level, IMO
 
Bruins better start getting more pucks on goal and pass less once they get in the Caps zone. Time is getting short

At least the refs have been consistent. When a Cap gets a little face wash the B goes to the box for roughing. When a B is decapitated, play on.

The Caps and Bruins beating the hell out of each other, or the Bolts and Panthers flying all over the place. You watch, the Isle's will get blown out just like the other year in round 2 if they beat the Pens.

No way can they come close to competing with any of them the way they played in game 1. Tonight better be a decisive 5-3 6-2 win or I am taking one foot off the band wagon. None of this 2-1 OT BS. Completely off the bandwagon with a loss....
