Pens Hockey 2021?

If you have access to 105.9x listen in

Sid definitely wore his emotions on his sleeve in his PC.

Good to hear honest assessment of the goaltending by Staggy. That's what I really like about the radio feed, they don't hold back on their opinion in a country where everyone supposedly deserves a trophy at birth..

Jeff Carter talking now... Great to hear he'll be with us next year. Dude sounds really deflated like he'd been on the roster for years.

Staggy giving **** to GMJR for giving up Cole, Kunitz, Horny.

Quiet you...

Watched ZERO minutes. Checked my phone and saw by mistake 2-2 and was somewhat surprised. Checked again and saw 3-2 and thought they had a chance. We got ready to leave and started the car and NHL popped up on Sirius and I saw 5-3 and immediately changed the station. Read yall comments late last night, so no comments on the game. Season over and another Tomlin Special Stinker! #1 seed and out again

Offseason Check List (for me at least)

I am moving Malkin and getting something in return. A physical Defenseman and 2 bottom six Forwards he should fetch. NHL still thinks he is elite; Canada will pay him maybe? Or Retirement would not hurt my feelings. Hell Jagr at this point is still better than Geno

I am also moving away from Letang. Too many turnover and defensive lapses. Dumo covers a lot of his mistakes and he also brings Dumo down. No reason PO can't play a full season.

Petterson - Waives Goodbye

Jarry is back up at best. Let him and DeSmith fight it out. They need a front line goaltender. Gonna cost money unless they somehow hit gold with one of the 2 drafted.

They have a lot of complementary players, however they are either too slow, not skilled enough and none are aggressive. They are good pieces but too many of them.

Finally - I think it is time for a dick coach and one that wants to play a harder hitting style of hockey. Not dirty or cheap just aggressive, taking the action and play to the other team. A system that can at times just lock up the neutral zones. They should with all the talent be in the top 10 in both PP and PK.

Happy to have back: Blue and Tanev both played through injuries. Thankful Carter is back. Jake and Zucker if they both return have to spend a year in the gym. Sid needs to go back and practice as that is all he does and only practice his shot. He passes way tooo much and the rest of the team tries to force him and Geno the puck.

I want to see Burke and Hex put their stamp on this team and Mario Stay The **** Out! Let the people you hire do their jobs

However all that being said, I only missed a hand full of games and during all the COVID Bullshit it was nice to have the Pens. They had a decent regular season and did better than expected, problem is the playoffs WAS expected. i.e..Steelers

Crosby stays but I'm not sure anyone else will be or should be safe. This team gets to the playoffs and way underperforms again. I know the coach did well when he first got here but 1 and done since. Sounds kind of like Tomlin. Absolutely pitiful performance in the 1st round once again. Inexcusable.

I would pull Spencer Carbery out of the Caps farm system. Dude is a fantastic coach. The Hershey Bears won their division and if the AHL wouldn't have gotten their liberal panties in a wad and cancelled the Calder Cup playoffs, they had a great chance of winning it all.

The thing that pisses me off most about the last few years is everyone talking about how good the Isles "structure" is....

If its so #&^@% *%$^good, how come they haven't raised the cup with it yet?!?!?

Seems the other teams figure out and beat Trot's "structure" but ill be dammed if the Pen's players and coaching staff can....

Looks interesting.

Trots' "structure" beat the Pens 3 PO series in a row now. His structure is a Pens killer. Reminds of a HC from NE that knows how to beat another team we know and love. Pisses me off, too. That's why a change is necessary. You keep the same system, coaches will break the barrier eventually. Sully's resume is fantastic, B2B Cups will be forever grateful, but the failures also resemble another HC we know. What have you done lately league?

Pretty much lifelong Steelers and Islanders fan. It was a great series. Islanders were extremely fortunate to win game 5 but sometimes it comes down to tending. Keeping the puck out of your net is more important than scoring. If you are structured on defense and have good goalies there will always be strange bounces and opportunities on offense. The Penguins were better this time but are getting older and the Islanders knocked the **** out of them. Takes its toll. Enjoy the golf season Sid!!!!

Their structure isn’t the best. Trotz designed it to beat the speed of the Pens and force an aging Crosby and Malkin to carry the play. The Pens did carry play, the lack of net front presence is what hurt this team.

Hornqvist, Kunitz, Reaves. Forwards who are not afraid to score “dirty” goals. Look at Zuckers goal last night. He went in front of the goalie.

Crosby tried but took a beating
